¶ Nau mi tok, Ating God i bin tromoi i go ol lain bilong em? I no ken tru. Long wanem, mi tu i stap man Isrel, bilong tumbuna pikinini bilong Ebraham, bilong lain bilong Benjamin. | I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God i no bin tromoi i go ol lain bilong em husat em i save pastaim. Ating i yes long yupela i save long rait i tok wanem long Ilaias? Long em i mekim wok namelman i go long God i birua long Isrel olsem wanem, i spik, | God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
Bikpela, ol i bin kilim ol profet bilong yu, na digim i go daun ol alta bilong yu. Na mi stap wanpis, na ol i painim laip bilong mi. | Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
Tasol bekim bilong God i tok wanem long em? Mi bin holim bek bilong mi yet 7,000 man, husat i no bin lindaunim skru long piksa bilong Beal | But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
Yes, olsem nau long dispela taim nau tu i gat hap lain i stap yet bilong bihainim makim God i bin wokim bilong marimari. | Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Na sapos em i long marimari, orait em i no moa bilong ol wok. Sapos nogat, marimari i no marimari moa. Tasol sapos em i bilong ol wok, orait em i no moa long marimari. Sapos nogat, wok em i no wok moa. | And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Wanem nau? Israel i no bin kisim dispela samting em i painim. Tasol ol man God i bin makim i bin kisim dispela, na ol arapela i kamap aipas, | What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
(Bilong bihainim olsem rait i stap pinis, God i bin givim long ol dispela spirit bilong hap slip, ol ai long ol i no ken lukluk, na ol ia long ol i no ken harim,) inap long tude. | (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Na Devit i tok, Larim tebol bilong ol i kamap wanpela trap bilong animal, na trap, na samting bilong sutim lek, na samting bilong bekim pe long ol. | And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
Larim ol ai bilong ol i go tudak, inap long ol i no ken lukluk, na lindaunim baksait bilong ol olgeta taim. | Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
Mi tok nau, Ating ol i bin sutim lek inap long ol i ken pundaun? I no ken tru. Tasol mobeta, long wok bilong pundaun bilong ol, pasin bilong kisim bek i kam long ol man i no Ju, bilong skrapim bel bilong ol long pasin jeles. | I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Nau sapos pundaun bilong ol i stap ol samting i dia tru bilong dispela graun, na taim ol i go daun em i ol samting i dia tru bilong ol man i no Ju, hamas moa taim ol i go pulap tru? | Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
Long wanem, mi toktok long yupela ol man i no Ju, bikos mi stap aposel bilong ol man i no Ju, mi litimapim wok bilong mi. | For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
Sapos long wanpela rot mi ken skrapim bel bilong ol bilong kamap wankain stret, husat i stap wan bodi bilong mi, na mi ken kisim bek sampela bilong ol. | If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
Long wanem, sapos taim God i tromoi ol i go em i taim God i kamap wanbel long ol man bilong dispela graun, taim em i kisim ol bai stap wanem, laip i kam bek long dai tasol? | For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Long wanem, sapos namba wan kaikai i stap holi, dispela hap em i holi tu. Na sapos rop daunbilo i stap holi, ol han bilong diwai i stap olsem tu. | For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
Na sapos sampela han bilong diwai i bruk i go, na yu, taim yu stap wail diwai oliv, em i pasim yu insait namel long ol, na wantaim ol yu kisim hap bilong rop daunbilo na gris bilong diwai oliv, | And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
No ken litimapim nating yu yet i birua long ol han bilong diwai. Tasol sapos yu litimapim nating yu yet, yu no karim rop daunbilo, tasol rop daunbilo i karim yu. | Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Yu bai tok nau, Ol han bilong diwai i bruk i go, inap long God i ken pasim mi insait. | Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Gutpela. Bilong wanem, ol i no gat bilip na God i brukim ol i go, na yu sanap long bilip tru. No ken stap bikhet long tingting, tasol yu mas pret. | Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Long wanem, sapos God i no soim sori long ol han bilong diwai stret, was gut, nogut em i no soim sori long yu tu. | For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Olsem na, lukim gutpela pasin na pasin i hat tru bilong God. Long ol husat i pundaun, hat tru. Tasol i go long yu, gutpela, sapos yu stap yet long gutpela pasin bilong em. Sapos nogat, em bai katim yu tu i go olgeta. | Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Na ol tu, sapos ol i no stap yet long pasin bilong i no gat bilip, God bai pasim ol insait long diwai. Long wanem, God em inap long pasim ol insait long diwai gen. | And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
Long wanem, sapos em katim yu ausait long dispela diwai oliv i wail long pasin bilong em yet, na em i pasim yu insait long dispela gutpela diwai oliv i birua long pasin bilong yu yet, hamas moa ol dispela, husat i stap ol han bilong diwai long pasin bilong ol yet, bai God i pasim insait long diwai oliv bilong ol yet? | For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
Long wanem, mi no gat laik, ol brata, long yupela i no ken klia long dispela samting hait, nogut yupela i ken stap saveman insait long ol hambak tingting bilong yupela yet, long hap aipas i kamap long Isrel, inap long taim bilong ol man i no Ju i pulap tru i kam insait. | For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Na olsem tasol God bai kisim bek olgeta Isrel, olsem rait i stap pinis, Ausait long Saion bai i gat Man Bilong Kisim Bek i kam, na em bai tanim i go ol pasin nogut long Jekop. | And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Long wanem, dispela em i kontrak bilong mi i go long ol, taim mi bai tekewe ol sin bilong ol. | For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Long sait bilong gutnius, ol i stap ol birua bilong helpim yupela. Tasol long sait bilong ol man God i bin makim, ol i stap klostu tru long bel bilong yumi bilong tingim ol tumbuna papa. | As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
Long wanem, God i no tanim bel long ol presen na singaut bilong em. | For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Long wanem, olsem long ol taim bipo yupela i no bin bilip long God, tasol nau yupela i bin kisim sori long wok bilong pasin bilong i no gat bilip bilong ol. | For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Yes, olsem ol dispela tu i no bin bilip nau, long wok bilong sori bilong yupela ol tu i ken kisim sori. | Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
Long wanem, God i bin bungim ol olgeta insait long pasin bilong i no gat bilip, inap long em i ken gat sori long olgeta. | For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
¶ O dip bilong ol samting i dia tru bilong save tru na save bilong God wantaim! Ol kot bilong em i hat long painimaut tru moa, na ol rot bilong em i abrusim mak bilong man i ken painimaut! | O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Long wanem, husat i bin save long tingting bilong Bikpela? O husat i bin stap man bilong givim tok helpim long em? | For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
O husat i bin givim long em pastaim, na dispela God bai bekim pe long em gen? | Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
Long wanem, bilong em, na long wok bilong em, na i go long em, em olgeta samting, long husat glori i mas stap oltaim oltaim. Amen. | For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
