¶ Nau taim em i bin pinisim olgeta toktok bilong em long ia bilong ol manmeri, em i go insait long Kaperneam. | Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
Na wokboi bilong wanpela kepten bilong 100 soldia, husat i dia long em, i sik, na em i redi long dai. | And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
Na taim em i harim stori long Jisas, em i salim long em ol lapun hetman bilong ol Ju, bilong askim em strong plis long em i ken kam na oraitim wokboi bilong em. | And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
Na taim ol i kam long Jisas, ol i askim em strongpela strong plis, i spik, Long em i gat namba inap long husat em i ken mekim dispela samting. | And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
Long wanem, em i laikim tru kantri bilong yumi, na em i bin wokim wanpela sinagog bilong yumi. | For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Nau Jisas i go wantaim ol. Na taim em i no longwe nau long haus, kepten bilong 100 soldia i salim ol pren long em, i spik long em, Bikpela, no ken givim wari long yu yet. Long wanem, mi no gat namba inap long yu ken kam aninit long rup bilong mi. | Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
Olsem na tu mi no tingim mi yet i gat namba inap long kam long yu. Tasol tok long wanpela tok, na wokboi bilong mi bai orait. | Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Long wanem, mi tu mi man ol i putim aninit long man i gat namba, taim mi gat ol soldia i stap aninit long mi, na mi tokim wanpela, Go, na em i go. Na long narapela, Kam, na em i kam. Na long wokboi bilong mi, Mekim dispela, na em i mekim. | For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Taim Jisas i harim ol dispela samting, em i tingting planti long em, na tanim em yet nabaut, na tokim ol manmeri husat i bihainim em, Mi tokim yupela, mi no bin lukim bilip tru i bikpela olsem, nogat, i no olsem insait long Isrel. | When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Na ol husat em i salim, taim ol i go bek long haus, i lukim wokboi i orait olgeta husat i bin sik. | And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
¶ Na em i kamap olsem long de bihain, long em i go insait long wanpela biktaun ol i kolim Nain. Na planti bilong ol disaipel bilong em i go wantaim em, na planti manmeri. | And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
Nau taim em i kam klostu long dua bilong banis bilong biktaun, lukim, ol i karim wanpela daiman ausait, wanpela pikinini man tasol bilong mama bilong em, na em i meri man bilong em i dai pinis. Na planti manmeri bilong dispela biktaun i stap wantaim meri. | Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
Na taim Bikpela i lukim meri, em i gat pasin sori long em, na tokim em, No ken krai tru. | And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Na em i kam na tasim bet bilong karim daiman. Na ol husat i karim em i sanap i stap. Na em i tok, Yangpela man, mi tokim yu, Kirap. | And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Na em husat i dai pinis i kirap i sindaun, na stat long toktok. Na em i givim em long mama bilong em. | And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Na i gat wanpela pret i kam antap long olgeta. Na ol i givim glori long God, i spik, Long wanpela bikpela profet i kirap namel long yumi, na, Long God i bin kam lukim ol manmeri bilong em. | And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
Na dispela tok win bilong em i go ausait namel long olgeta hap bilong Judia, na namel long olgeta hap bilong olgeta hap graun raun nabaut. | And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the region round about.
Na ol disaipel bilong Jon i soim em bilong olgeta dispela samting. | And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
¶ Na taim Jon i singautim i kam long em tupela bilong ol disaipel bilong em, em i salim ol i go long Jisas, i spik, Yu stap em husat bai kam? O mipela i mas painim narapela? | And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
Na taim ol man i kam long em, ol i tok, Jon Baptist i bin salim mipela i kam long yu, i spik, Yu stap em husat bai kam? O mipela i mas painim narapela? | When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
Na long dispela aua stret em i oraitim planti long ol sik bilong ol na ol sik nogut, na long ol spirit nogut. Na long planti husat i aipas em i givim ol strong bilong lukluk. | And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
Nau Jisas i bekim tok long ol, Go long rot bilong yupela, na tokim Jon long wanem ol samting yupela i bin lukim na harim, long ol aipas i lukluk, ol lek nogut i wokabaut, ol man lepra i kamap klin, ol iapas i harim, ol daiman i kirap gen, long mi autim gutnius long ol rabisman olsem wanem. | Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
Na blesing i stap long em, husat man bai i no gat bel i bagarap long mi. | And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Na taim ol mausman bilong Jon i go, em i stat long toktok long ol manmeri long sait bilong Jon, Yupela i go ausait i go long ples i no gat man bilong lukim wanem samting? Wanpela rit i seksek long win? | And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
Tasol yupela i go ausait bilong lukim wanem samting? Wanpela man i werim ol klos i no rap? Lukim, ol husat i werim ol klos i naispela nogut tru, na i gat sindaun i isi tru, i stap long ol ples op bilong ol king. | But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
Tasol yupela i go ausait bilong lukim wanem samting? Wanpela profet? Yes, mi tokim yupela, na planti moa long wanpela profet. | But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
Dispela em em, long husat rait i stap pinis, Lukim, mi bai salim mausman bilong mi long go paslain long pes bilong yu, husat bai redim rot bilong yu i go paslain long yu. | This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Long wanem, mi tokim yupela, Namel long ol dispela husat ol mama i karim i no gat wanpela profet i winim Jon dispela Baptist. Tasol em husat i las man long kingdom bilong God i winim em. | For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Na olgeta manmeri husat i harim em, na ol man bilong kisim takis, i tok yes long God i stretpela, taim ol i kisim baptais wantaim baptais bilong Jon. | And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
Tasol ol Farisi na ol masta kot i tok nogat olgeta long tok helpim bilong God i birua long ol yet, taim ol i no kisim baptais long em. | But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
Na Bikpela i tok, Nau mi bai wokim piksa long ol man bilong dispela lain tumbuna long wanem samting? Na ol i wankain olsem wanem samting? | And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
Ol i olsem ol pikinini i sindaun long ples maket, na singaut wanpela i go long narapela, na spik, Mipela i bin winim paip long yupela, na yupela i no bin danis. Mipela i bin soim sori long yupela, na yupela i no bin krai tru. | They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
Long wanem, Jon dispela Baptist i no kam na kaikai bret o dringim wain, na yupela i tok, Em i gat wanpela spirit nogut. | For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
Pikinini Man bilong man i kam na em i kaikai na dring, na yupela i tok, Lukim, wanpela man bilong kaikai planti tumas, na wanpela man bilong dringim planti wain tumas, wanpela pren bilong ol man bilong kisim takis na ol sinman! | The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Tasol save tru i kamap stretpela long olgeta pikinini bilong em. | But wisdom is justified of all her children.
¶ Na wanpela bilong ol Farisi i askim long em long em i ken kaikai wantaim em. Na em i go insait long haus bilong dispela Farisi, na sindaun long kaikai. | And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
Na, lukim, wanpela meri insait long biktaun, husat i wanpela sinmeri, taim em i save long Jisas i sindaun long kaikai long haus bilong Farisi, i bringim wanpela bokis alabasta bilong wel i gat marasin, | And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
Na em sanap klostu long tupela fut bilong em baksait long em na krai tru, na em i stat long wasim tupela fut bilong em wantaim aiwara bilong em, na em i bin rausim wara long ol wantaim ol gras bilong het bilong em, na givim kis long tupela fut bilong em, na welim ol wantaim dispela wel i gat marasin. | And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Nau taim dispela Farisi husat i bin askim em long kaikai i lukim dispela, em i toktok insait long em yet, i spik, Dispela man, sapos em i wanpela profet, i bin save long dispela meri em i husat na em i wanem kain meri husat i tasim em. Long wanem, em i wanpela sinmeri. | Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
Na Jisas i bekim na tokim em, Saimon, mi gat wanpela samting long tokim yu. Na em i tok, Tisa, yu tok. | And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
I gat wanpela man bilong givim dinau husat i gat tupela man i bin kisim dinau. Wanpela i dinau long em long 500 pens, na arapela 50. | There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
Na taim tupela i no gat wanpela samting long pe i go long em, wantaim trupela bel em i lusim dinau bilong tupela wantaim. Olsem na tokim mi, husat bilong tupela bai laikim em tru moa? | And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
Saimon i bekim na tok, Mi ting olsem long em, long em husat em i lusim planti moa. Na em i tokim em, Yu bin jasim stret. | Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
Na em i tanim long dispela meri, na tokim Saimon, Yu lukim dispela meri? Mi kam insait long haus bilong yu, na yu no givim mi wara bilong tupela fut bilong mi. Tasol em i bin wasim tupela fut bilong mi wantaim aiwara, na rausim wara long ol wantaim ol gras bilong het bilong em. | And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
Yu no bin givim mi wanpela kis. Tasol dispela meri, i stat long taim mi kam insait inap long nau, i no bin lusim pasin bilong givim kis long tupela fut bilong mi. | Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
Yu no bin welim het bilong mi wantaim wel. Tasol dispela meri i bin welim tupela fut bilong mi wantaim wel i gat marasin. | My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
Olsem na mi tokim yu, Ol sin bilong em, dispela i planti, mi lusim. Long wanem, meri i bin laikim tru planti. Tasol long husat ol i lusim liklik, dispela stret i laikim tru liklik. | Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
Na em i tokim meri, Mi lusim ol sin bilong yu. | And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Na ol husat i sindaun long kaikai wantaim em i stat long toktok insait long ol yet, Dispela em i husat husat i lusim ol sin tu? | And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
Na em i tokim meri, Bilip tru bilong yu i bin kisim bek yu. Go wantaim bel isi. | And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
