¶ Na em i tokim ol long wanpela tok piksa long dispela as, long ol man i mas beten olgeta taim, na ol i no ken hap i dai, | And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
I spik, I gat wanpela jas i stap long wanpela biktaun, husat i no pretim God, o tingim namba bilong man. | Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
Na i gat wanpela meri man bilong em i dai pinis long dispela biktaun. Na meri i kam long em, i spik, Bekim pe nogut long helpim mi long birua bilong mi. | And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Na inap long liklik taim em i no gat laik. Tasol bihain long en em i toktok insait long em yet, Maski mi no pretim God, o tingim namba bilong man, | And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Yet bikos dispela dispela meri man bilong em i dai pinis i givim wari long mi, mi bai bekim pe nogut long helpim em, nogut taim em i kam long mi olgeta taim em i mekim mi pilim les tru. | Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Na Bikpela i tok, Harim wanem samting dispela jas i no stretpela i tok. | And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Na ating i yes long God bai bekim pe nogut bilong helpim ol lain em i makim bilong em yet, husat i singaut long em san na nait, maski em i karim hevi longpela taim wantaim ol? | And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Mi tokim yupela long em bai bekim pe nogut bilong helpim ol hariap. Tasol taim Pikinini Man bilong man i kam, bai em i lukim bilip tru long dispela graun? | I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
¶ Na em i toktok long dispela tok piksa long sampela husat i putim bilip long ol yet long ol i stretpela, na tingim ol arapela olsem ol i samting nating. | And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Tupela man i go antap insait long tempel long beten. Wanpela em i wanpela Farisi, na arapela em i man bilong kisim takis. | Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
Dispela Farisi i sanap na beten olsem wantaim em yet, God, mi tok tenkyu long yu, long mi no stap olsem ol arapela man, ol man bilong pulim samting wantaim pasin nogut, ol man i no stretpela, ol man bilong bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin, o yes, olsem dispela man bilong kisim takis. | The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Mi tambuim kaikai tupela taim long wan wan wik, mi givim namba ten hap long olgeta samting mi gat. | I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
Na dispela man bilong kisim takis, taim em i sanap longwe, i no gat laik liklik long litimapim tupela ai bilong em i go long heven, tasol em i paitim bros bilong em, i spik, God, sori long mi, wanpela sinman. | And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Mi tokim yupela, dispela man i go long haus bilong em stretpela na arapela nogat. Long wanem, olgeta wan wan husat i litimapim em yet bai God i daunim. Na em husat i daunim em yet bai God i litimapim. | I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
¶ Na ol i bringim long em tu ol bebi, inap long em i ken tasim ol. Tasol taim ol disaipel bilong em i lukim dispela, ol i hatim ol. | And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
Tasol Jisas i singautim ol long kam long em, na tok, Larim ol liklik pikinini kam long mi, na no ken tambuim ol. Long wanem, kingdom bilong God em i bilong ol kain olsem. | But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Tru tumas, mi tokim yupela, Husat man bai i no kisim kingdom bilong God olsem wanpela liklik pikinini bai i no inap tru long go insait long en. | Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
¶ Na wanpela hetman i askim em, i spik, Gutpela Tisa, mi bai mekim wanem long kisim laip i stap gut oltaim oltaim olsem samting papa i givim pikinini? | And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Na Jisas i tokim em, Bilong wanem yu kolim mi gutpela? I no gat wanpela arapela i gutpela, wanpela tasol, em i olsem, God. | And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Yu save long ol tok strong, No ken bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin, No ken kilim man, No ken stil, No ken stap giaman witnes, Givim ona long papa bilong yu na mama bilong yu. | Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Na em i tok, Olgeta dispela mi bin bihainim i stat long taim mi yangpela i kam antap. | And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
Nau taim Jisas i harim ol dispela samting, em i tokim em, Yet yu sot long wanpela samting. Salim olgeta samting yu gat, na tilim long ol rabisman, na yu bai gat samting i dia tru long heven. Na kam, bihainim mi. | Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
Na taim em i harim dispela, em i pulap tru long bel i pilim hevi. Long wanem, em i maniman tru. | And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
Na taim Jisas i luksave long em i pulap tru long bel i pilim hevi, em i tok, Klostu em i no inap tru long ol man husat i gat ol mani samting i ken go insait long kingdom bilong God! | And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Long wanem, em i isi moa long wanpela kemel i ken go namel long hul bilong nil bilong samap, long wanpela maniman i ken go insait long kingdom bilong God. | For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Na ol husat i harim dispela i tok, Husat nau God i ken kisim bek? | And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
Na em i tok, Ol dispela samting ol man i no gat rot olgeta long mekim, God i gat rot long mekim. | And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Nau Pita i tok, Harim, mipela i bin lusim olgeta, na bihainim yu. | Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
Na em i tokim ol, Tru tumas, mi tokim yupela, I no gat man husat i bin lusim hauslain, o papamama, o ol brata, o meri, o ol pikinini, bilong tingim kingdom bilong God, | And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,
Husat bai i no inap kisim planti kain kain moa long dispela taim nau, na long dispela skai na graun bilong kamap bihain, laip i stap gut oltaim oltaim. | Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
¶ Nau em i kisim long em dispela twelpela, na tokim ol, Lukim, yumi go antap long Jerusalem, na olgeta dispela samting ol profet i rait long sait bilong Pikinini Man bilong man bai kamap pinis. | Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
Long wanem, ol bai givim em long ol man i no Ju, na ol bai wokim pani long daunim em, na mekim pasin bilong bel nogut tru long em, na spetim em. | For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
Na ol bai wipim em, na mekim em long dai. Na long namba tri de em bai kirap bek gen. | And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
Na ol i no kisim save long wanpela bilong ol dispela samting. Na dispela toktok i stap hait long ol, na tu ol i no save long ol dispela samting Jisas i toktok. | And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
¶ Na em i kamap olsem, long taim em i kam klostu long Jeriko, wanpela aipas man i sindaun klostu long sait bilong rot na pulim ol mani samting. | And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
Na taim em i harim bikpela lain tru i wokabaut klostu, em i askim long dispela i gat wanem mining. | And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
Na ol i tokim em, long Jisas bilong Nasaret i wokabaut klostu. | And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
Na em i singaut, i spik, Jisas, yu Pikinini Man bilong Devit, sori long mi. | And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Na ol husat i go paslain i hatim em, long em i mas pasim maus bilong em. Tasol em i singaut hamas moa olsem, Yu Pikinini Man bilong Devit, sori long mi. | And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Na Jisas i sanap, na tok strong long em long ol i ken bringim em long em. Na taim em i kam klostu, em i askim em, | And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
I spik, Yu gat laik long mi bai mekim wanem samting long yu? Na em i tok, Bikpela, inap long mi ken kisim strong bilong lukluk. | Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
Na Jisas i tokim em, Yu kisim strong bilong lukluk. Bilip tru bilong yu i bin kisim bek yu. | And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
Na wantu em i kisim strong bilong lukluk, na bihainim em, na givim glori long God. Na olgeta manmeri, taim ol i lukim dispela, i givim biknem i go long God. | And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
