¶ Nau olgeta man bilong kisim takis na ol sinman i wok long go klostu long em long harim em. | Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
Na ol Farisi na ol man bilong rait i tok baksait, i spik, Dispela man i kisim ol sinman, na kaikai wantaim ol. | And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
Na em i tokim ol long dispela tok piksa, i spik, | And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
Wanem man bilong yupela, taim em i gat 100 sipsip, sapos wanpela i go lus long em, i no lusim dispela 99 long ples i no gat man, na go bihainim dispela samting i lus, inap long em i painim dispela pinis? | What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Na taim em i bin painim dispela pinis, em i slipim dispela long ol sol bilong han bilong em, na wokim amamas tru. | And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Na taim em i kam bek long haus bilong em, em i singautim ol pren bilong em na ol man i stap klostu long em long bung wantaim, i spik long ol, Wokim amamas tru wantaim mi. Long wanem, mi bin painim sipsip bilong mi pinis, dispela i lus. | And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
Mi tokim yupela, long wankain olsem amamas tru bai stap long heven antap long wanpela sinman husat i tanim bel, moa long antap long 99 stretpela man, husat i no gat nid long tanim bel. | I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Na tu wanem meri taim em i gat tenpela hap silva, sapos wanpela hap mani i lus long em, i no laitim wanpela kandel, na brumim haus, na painim strong inap long taim em i painim dispela pinis? | Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
Na taim em i bin painim dispela pinis, em i singautim ol pren bilong em na ol man i stap klostu long em long bung wantaim, i spik, Wokim amamas tru wantaim mi. Long wanem, mi bin painim pinis dispela hap mani i bin lus long mi. | And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
Wankain olsem, mi tokim yupela, i gat amamas tru long pes bilong ol ensel bilong God antap long wanpela sinman husat i tanim bel. | Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
¶ Na em i tok, Wanpela man i gat tupela pikinini man. | And he said, A certain man had two sons:
Na pikinini i yangpela moa bilong tupela i tokim papa bilong em, Papa, givim mi hap skel bilong ol dispela kago i bai pundaun long mi. Na em i brukim long tupela ol samting bilong em. | And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
Na i no planti de bihain long pikinini man i yangpela moa i bungim olgeta samting wantaim, na go long wokabaut bilong em long wanpela longwe kantri, na long dispela hap em i tromoi nating olgeta samting tru bilong em wantaim laip bilong wail pasin. | And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
Na taim em i bin yusim olgeta pinis, i gat wanpela strongpela bikpela taim hangre i kirap long dispela hap graun. Na em i stat long stap sot tru long olgeta samting. | And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
Na em i go na bungim em yet wantaim wanpela man bilong dispela kantri. Na em i salim em i go long ol hap graun bilong em long givim kaikai long ol pik. | And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
Na em i bin gat laik long pulimapim bel bilong em wantaim ol dispela skin pipia bilong wit samting ol pik i bin kaikai. Na i no gat man i givim em. | And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
Na taim em i kam long em yet, em i tok, Hamas wokboi papa bilong mi i baim i gat inap bret na moa i stap yet, na mi wok long dai olgeta long hangre! | And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
Mi bai kirap na go long papa bilong mi, na mi bai tokim em, Papa, mi bin mekim sin i birua long heven, na long ai bilong yu, | I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Na mi no gat namba moa inap long ol i ken kolim mi pikinini man bilong yu. Mekim mi olsem wanpela bilong ol wokboi bilong yu yu baim. | And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Na em i kirap, na kam long papa bilong em. Tasol taim em i stap longwe tru yet, papa bilong em i lukim em, na em i gat pasin sori long em, na ran, na pundaun antap long nek bilong em, na givim kis long em. | And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Na pikinini man i tokim em, Papa, mi bin mekim sin i birua long heven, na long ai bilong yu, na mi no gat namba moa inap long ol i ken kolim mi pikinini man bilong yu. | And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
Tasol papa bilong em i tokim ol wokboi bilong em, Bringim i kam dispela nambawan longpela saket, na putim long em. Na putim ring long han bilong em, na ol su long tupela fut bilong em. | But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
Na bringim long hia dispela pikinini bulmakau ol i mekim patpela, na kilim. Na larim yumi kaikai, na stap amamas. | And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
Long wanem, dispela pikinini man bilong mi i bin stap daiman, na em i stap laip gen. Em i bin lus, na yumi painim em pinis. Na ol i stat long stap amamas. | For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Nau pikinini man bilong em i bikpela i stap long bikpela gaden. Na taim em i kam na go klostu long haus, em i harim musik na ol man i danis. | Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
Na em i singautim wanpela bilong ol wokboi, na askim long dispela samting i gat wanem mining. | And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
Na em i tokim em, Brata bilong yu i kam pinis. Na papa bilong yu i bin kilim dispela pikinini bulmakau ol i mekim patpela, bilong wanem, em i bin kisim em gen orait na gutpela. | And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
Na em i belhat, na em i no gat laik long go insait. Olsem na papa bilong em i kam ausait, na mekim strongpela askim long em. | And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
Na em i bekim tok long papa bilong em, Harim, ol dispela planti yia mi bin wokim wok long yu, na tu mi no bin kalapim tok strong bilong yu wanpela taim. Na yet yu no bin givim wanpela pikinini meme long mi, inap long mi ken wokim amamas wantaim ol pren bilong mi. | And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
Tasol long taim stret long dispela pikinini man bilong yu i kam, husat i bin kaikai olgeta samting bilong yu wantaim ol pamuk meri, yu bin kilim bilong em dispela pikinini bulmakau ol i mekim patpela. | But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
Na em i tokim em, Pikinini man, yu stap wantaim mi oltaim, na olgeta samting mi gat em i bilong yu. | And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
Em i fit long yumi mas wokim amamas, na stap amamas. Long wanem, dispela brata bilong yu i bin stap daiman, na em i stap laip gen. Na em i bin lus, na yumi painim em pinis. | It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
