1 Och Gud talade all deßa orden: And God spake all these words, saying,
2 Jag är HERren din Gud, den dig utfört hafwer af Egypti lande, utu träldomens huse. I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Du skall inga andra gudar hafwa jemte mig. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Du skall icke göra dig något beläte; ej heller eljest någon liknelse, antingen efter det ofwantill är i himlenom, eller efter det nedre är på jordene; ej heller efter det, som i wattnena är under jordene. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Bed icke till dem, och tjena dem icke; ty jag HERren din Gud, är en stark hämnare, den som söker fädernas mißgerning, inpå barnen, allt intill tredje och fjerde led, de som mig hata; Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 Och gör barmhertighet uppå mång tusende, som mig hafwa kär, och hålla min bud. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Du skall icke mißbruka HERrans dins Guds Namn; ty HERren skall icke låta honom blifwa ostraffad, som hans Namn mißbrukar. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Tänk uppå Sabbathsdagen, att du helgar honom. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Sex dagar skall du arbeta, och göra alla dina gerningar. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 Men på sjunde dagenom är HERrans dins Guds Sabbath: Då skall du intet arbete göra, ej heller din son, ej heller din dotter, ej heller din tjenare, ej heller din tjenarinna, ej heller din ök, ej heller din främling, som innan din stadsport är. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 Ty uti sex dagar hafwer HERren gjort himmel och jord, och hafwet, och hwad derinne är, och hwilade på sjunde dagenom. Derföre wälsignade HERren Sabbathsdagen, och helgade honom. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Du skall ära din fader och dina moder; på det du skall länge lefwa i landena, som HERren din Gud dig gifwa skall. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
13 Du skall icke dräpa. Thou shalt not kill.
14 Du skall icke göra hor. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Du skall icke stjäla. Thou shalt not steal.
16 Du skall icke bära falskt wittnesbröd emot din nästa. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Du skall icke hafwa lust till dins nästas hus. Du skall icke begära dins nästas hustru, ej heller hans tjenare, eller hans tjenarinno, ej heller hans oxa, ej heller hans åsna, ej heller något, det din näste hafwer. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
18 Och allt folket såg dundret och ljungelden, och basunens ljud, och berget rykandes; och fruktade sig och flydde, trädandes fjerran; And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 Och sade till Mose: Tala du med oß, wi wilje höra dertill; och låt icke Gud tala med oß, att wi icke skole dö. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 Mose talade till folket: Frukter eder intet; ty Gud är kommen till att försöka eder; och att hans fruktan skall wara för edor ögon, att I icke synden. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 Och folket trädde långt ifrå; men Mose gick in till mörkret, der Gud uti war. And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 Och HERren sade till honom: Så skall du säga Israels barnom: I hafwen sett, att jag af himmelen hafwer talat med eder. And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 Derföre skolen I ingen ting hålla lika wid mig: Silfwergudar och gyldene gudar skolen I icke göra eder. Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24 Ett altare af jord gör mig, der du uppå ditt bränneoffer och tackoffer, din får och fä offra skall; ty på hwad rum jag stiftar mins Namns åminnelse, der will jag komma till dig, och wälsigna dig. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25 Och om du will göra mig ett stenaltare, skall du icke göra det af huggen sten; förty om du far deråt med din knif, så gör du det oskärdt. And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Du skall ock icke uppstiga på trappor till mitt altare, att din stam icke skall der blifwa upptäckt. Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
