| 2 | Nåd vare med eder, och frid af Gudi, vårom Fader, och Herranom Jesu Christo. | Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 3 | Välsignad vare Gud, och vårs Herras Jesu Christi Fader, den oss välsignat hafver med all andelig välsignelse, i de himmelska ting, genom Christum; | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: |

| 5 | Och hafver tagit oss sig sjelfvom till barn, genom Jesum Christum, efter sins viljas goda behag; | Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, |
| 6 | Sina härliga nåd till lof, genom hvilka han hafver oss täcka gjort uti honom, som kärkommen är; | To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. |
| 7 | I hvilkom vi hafvom förlossning genom hans blod, syndernas förlåtelse, efter hans nåds rikedomar; | In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; |
| 8 | Af hvilka han oss rundeliga delaktiga gjort hafver uti all visdom och klokhet; | Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; |
| 9 | Och hafver oss låtit få veta sins viljas hemlighet, efter sitt goda behag, och hafver det framhaft igenom honom; | Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: |
| 10 | Att det skulle predikadt varda, då tiden fullkomnad var; på det allting skulle sammanfattad varda i Christo, både det i himmelen och på jordene är, genom den sammas; | That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: |
| 11 | Genom hvilken vi ock komne äre till arfvedelen, beskärde efter hans uppsåt, som all ting verkar efter sin egen viljas råd; | In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: |
| 12 | Att vi skole vara hans härlighet till lof, vi som tillförene hoppadoms på Christum; | That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. |
| 13 | Genom hvilken ock I hört hafven sanningenes ord, som är edor salighets Evangelium; uti hvilkom I ock, sedan I trodden, ären beseglade vordne med löftsens Helga Anda; | In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, |
| 14 | Hvilken vårt arfs pant är, till vår förlossning, att vi skulle varda hans egendom, hans härlighet till pris. | Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. |
| 15 | Derföre ock jag, efter jag hört hafver af den tro, som i eder är till Herran Jesum, och edar kärlek till all helgon; | Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, |
| 16 | Vänder jag icke åter att tacka Gud för eder, alltid tänkandes på eder i mina böner; | Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; |
| 17 | Att vårs Herras Jesu Christi Gud, härlighetenes Fader, ville gifva eder visdomsens och uppenbarelsens Anda, till sin kunskap, | That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: |
| 18 | Och upplysa edars förstånds ögon; att I förstå kunnen, hvad hopp han hafver kallat eder uti, och huru rik hans arfs härlighet är uti helgonen; | The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, |
| 19 | Och huru öfversvinneliga stor hans kraft är till oss, som tron, efter hans mägtiga starkhets verkan; | And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, |
| 20 | Hvilka han verkade i Christo, då han uppväckte honom ifrå de döda, och satte honom på sin högra hand i himmelen; | Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, |
| 21 | Öfver all Förstadöme, välde, magt, Herradöme, och allt det som nämnas kan, icke allenast i denna verldene, utan ock i den tillkommande; | Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: |
| 22 | Och hafver all ting lagt under hans fötter, och hafver satt honom församlingene till ett hufvud öfver all ting; | And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, |
| 23 | Hvilken är hans kropp, och hans uppfyllelse, som allt i allom uppfyller. | Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. |
