1 Y respondió Job, y dijo: But Job answered and said,
2 ¿En qué ayudaste al que no tiene fuerza? ¿salvaste con brazo al que no tiene fortaleza? How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
3 ¿En qué aconsejaste al que no tiene ciencia? ¿y mostraste asaz [tu] sabiduría? How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
4 ¿A quién has anunciado palabras? ¿y cúyo es el espíritu que sale de ti? To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
5 Cosas inanimadas son formadas debajo de las aguas, y de sus moradas. Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
6 El sepulcro es descubierto delante de él, y el infierno no tiene cobertura. Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
7 Extiende al aquilón sobre vacío: cuelga la tierra sobre nada. He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
8 Las aguas ata en sus nubes, y las nubes no se rompen debajo de ellas. He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
9 El aprieta la faz de su trono, y extiende sobre él su nube. He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
10 El cercó con término la superficie de las aguas hasta que se acabe la luz y las tinieblas. He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
11 Las columnas del cielo tiemblan, y se espantan de su reprensión. The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
12 El rompe la mar con su potencia, y con su entendimiento hiere [su] hinchazón. He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
13 Su Espíritu adornó los cielos: su mano crió la serpiente rolliza. By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
14 He aquí, estas son partes de sus caminos: ¿y cuán poco es lo que habemos oído de él? porque el estruendo de sus fortalezas ¿quién lo entenderá? Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
