1 No se turbe vuestro corazón: creeis en Dios, creéd también en mí. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 En la casa de mi Padre muchas moradas hay: si así no fuera, os lo hubiera yo dicho. Yo voy a aparejaros el lugar. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 Y si me fuere, y os aparejare el lugar, vendré otra vez, y os tomaré a mí mismo, para que donde yo estoy, vosotros también estéis. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 Y sabéis donde yo voy, y el camino sabéis. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Dícele Tomás: Señor, no sabemos donde vas: ¿cómo pues podemos saber el camino? Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesús le dice: Yo soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 Si me conocieseis, también a mi Padre conoceríais; y desde ahora le conocéis, y le habéis visto. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Dícele Felipe: Señor, muéstranos el Padre, y nos basta. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesús le dice: ¿Tanto tiempo ha que estoy con vosotros, y no me has conocido aun, Felipe? El que me ha visto, ha visto al Padre. ¿Cómo pues dices tú: Muéstranos el Padre? Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 ¿No crees que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os hablo, no las hablo de mí mismo; mas el Padre que está en mí, él hace las obras. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Creédme que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí: o si no, creédme por las mismas obras. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago también él las hará, y mayores que estas hará; porque yo voy a mi Padre. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 Y todo lo que pidiereis en mi nombre, esto haré; para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 Si algo pidiereis en mi nombre, yo lo haré. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 Si me amáis, guardád mis mandamientos. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 Y yo rogaré al Padre, el cual os dará otro Consolador para que esté con vosotros para siempre; And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Es a saber, al Espíritu de verdad, al cual el mundo no puede recibir; porque no le ve, ni le conoce; mas vosotros le conocéis, porque está con vosotros, y será en vosotros. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 No os dejaré huérfanos: yo vendré a vosotros. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Aun un poquito, y el mundo no me verá más; empero vosotros me veréis: por cuanto yo vivo, vosotros también viviréis. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 Aquel día vosotros conoceréis que yo soy en mi Padre, y vosotros en mí, y yo en vosotros. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 El que tiene mis mandamientos, y los guarda, aquel es el que me ama; y el que me ama, será amado de mi Padre; y yo le amaré a él, y me manifestaré a él. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Dícele Júdas, no el Iscariote: ¿Señor, qué hay porque te has de manifestar a nosotros, y no al mundo? Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Respondió Jesús, y le dijo: Si alguno me ama, mi palabra guardará; y mi Padre le amará, y vendremos a él, y haremos con él morada. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 El que no me ama, no guarda mis palabras; y la palabra que habéis oído, no es mía, sino del Padre que me envió. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 Estas cosas os he hablado estando aun con vosotros. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 Mas aquel Consolador, el Espíritu Santo, al cual el Padre enviará en mi nombre, él os enseñará todas las cosas, y os recordará todo lo que os he dicho. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 La paz os dejo: mi paz os doy: no como el mundo la da, yo os la doy: no se turbe vuestro corazón, ni tenga miedo. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Habéis oído como yo os he dicho: Voy, y vengo otra vez a vosotros. Si me amaseis, ciertamente os regocijaríais, porque he dicho que voy al Padre; porque el Padre mayor es que yo. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 Y ahora os lo he dicho antes que se haga, para que cuando se hiciere, creáis. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Ya no hablaré mucho con vosotros; porque viene el príncipe de este mundo, mas no tiene nada en mí. Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 Empero para que conozca el mundo que amo al Padre, y como el Padre me dio mandamiento, así hago. Levantáos, vamos de aquí. But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
