1 Mas si habéis resucitado con Cristo, buscád lo que es de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Ponéd vuestro corazón en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 Porque muertos estáis, y vuestra vida está guardada con Cristo en Dios. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 Cuando se manifestare Cristo, que es nuestra vida, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con él en gloria. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Hacéd morir, pues, vuestros miembros que están sobre la tierra, es a saber, la fornicación, la inmundicia, la molicie, la mala concupiscencia, y la avaricia, la cual es idolatría: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 Por las cuales cosas la ira de Dios viene sobre los hijos de rebelión: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 En las cuales vosotros también andabais en otro tiempo, cuando vivíais en ellas. In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 Mas ahora dejáos también vosotros de todas estas cosas; ira, enojo, malicia, maledicencia, torpes palabras de vuestra boca: But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 No mintáis los unos a los otros, habiéndoos despojado del hombre viejo con sus hechos, Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 Y habiéndoos vestido del nuevo, el cual es renovado en el conocimiento, conforme a la imagen del que le creó: And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Donde no hay Griego ni Judío, circuncisión ni incircuncisión, bárbaro ni Escita, siervo ni libre; mas Cristo es todo y en todo. Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Vestíos, pues, (como los escogidos de Dios, santos, y amados) de entrañas de misericordia, de benignidad, de humildad de espíritu, de mansedumbre, de longanimidad: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Soportándoos los unos a los otros, y perdonándoos los unos a los otros, si alguno tuviere queja contra otro: a la manera que Cristo os perdonó, así también perdonád vosotros. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 Y sobre todas estas cosas vestíos de amor, el cual es el vínculo de la perfección. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 Y la paz de Dios reine en vuestros corazones: a la cual asimismo sois llamados en un mismo cuerpo; y sed agradecidos. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 La palabra de Cristo habite en vosotros abundantemente en toda sabiduría; enseñándoos, y exhortándoos los unos a los otros con salmos, e himnos, y canciones espirituales, con gracia cantando en vuestros corazones al Señor. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 Y todo lo que hiciereis, en palabra, o en obra, hacédlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios y al Padre por medio de él. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 ¶ Casadas, estád sujetas a vuestros propios maridos, como conviene en el Señor. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Maridos, amád a vuestras mujeres, y no les seáis desabridos. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Hijos, obedecéd a vuestros padres en todo; porque esto agrada al Señor. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Padres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, porque no se desalienten. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Siervos, obedecéd en todo a vuestros señores según la carne, no sirviendo al ojo, como los que agradan a los hombres, sino con sencillez de corazón, temiendo a Dios. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
23 Y todo lo que hiciereis hacédlo de corazón, como mirando al Señor, y no a los hombres: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Estando ciertos que del Señor recibiréis el premio de la herencia; porque al Señor Cristo servís. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 Mas el que hace injusticia, recibirá la injusticia que hiciere; que no hay respeto de personas. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
