1 Тада рече Бог све ове ријечи говорећи: And God spake all these words, saying,
2 Ја сам Господ Бог твој, који сам те извео из земље Мисирске, из дома ропскога. I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Немој имати других богова уза ме. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Не гради себи лика резана нити какве слике од онога што је горе на небу, или доље на земљи, или у води испод земље. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Немој им се клањати нити им служити, јер сам ја Господ Бог твој, Бог ревнитељ, који походим гријехе отачке на синовима до трећега и до четвртога кољена, онијех који мрзе на мене; Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 А чиним милост на тисућама онијех који ме љубе и чувају заповијести моје. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Не узимај узалуд имена Господа Бога својега; јер неће пред Господом бити прав ко узме име његово узалуд. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Сјећај се дана од одмора да га светкујеш. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Шест дана ради, и свршуј све послове своје. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 А седми је дан одмор Господу Богу твојему; тада немој радити ниједнога посла, ни ти, ни син твој, ни кћи твоја, ни слуга твој, ни слушкиња твоја, ни живинче твоје, ни странац који је међу вратима твојим. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 Јер је за шест дана створио Господ небо и земљу, море и што је год у њима; а у седми дан почину; зато је благословио Господ дан од одмора и посветио га. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Поштуј оца својега и матер своју, да ти се продуље дани на земљи, коју ти да Господ Бог твој. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
13 Не убиј. Thou shalt not kill.
14 Не чини прељубе. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Не кради. Thou shalt not steal.
16 Не свједочи лажно на ближњега својега. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Не пожели куће ближњега својега, не пожели жене ближњега својега, ни слуге његова, ни слушкиње његове, ни вола његова, ни магарца његова, нити ишта што је ближњега твојега. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
18 И сав народ видје гром и муњу и трубу гдје труби и гору гдје се дими; и народ видјевши то узмаче се и стаде издалека, And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 И рекоше Мојсију: говори нам ти, и слушаћемо; а нека нам не говори Бог, да не помремо. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 А Мојсије рече народу: не бојте се, јер Бог дође да вас искуша и да вам пред очима буде страх његов да не бисте гријешили. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 И народ стајаше издалека, а Мојсије приступи к мраку у којем бјеше Бог. And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 И Господ рече Мојсију: овако кажи синовима Израиљевим: видјели сте гдје вам с неба говорих. And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 Не градите уза ме богова сребрнијех, ни богова златнијех не градите себи. Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24 Олтар од земље начини ми, на којем ћеш ми приносити жртве своје паљенице и жртве своје захвалне, ситну и крупну стоку своју. На којем год мјесту заповједим да се спомиње име моје, доћи ћу к теби и благословићу те. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25 Ако ли ми начиниш олтар од камена, немој начинити од тесанога камена; јер ако повучеш по њему гвожђем, оскврнићеш га. And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Немој уз басамаке ићи к олтару мојему, да се не би открила голотиња твоја код њега. Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
