1 А Аврам узе другу жену, по имену Хетуру. Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.
2 И она му роди Зомрана и Јоксана и Мадана и Мадијама и Јесвока и Соијена. And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 А Јоксан роди Савана и Дедана. А Деданови синови бише Асурим и Латусим и Лаомим. And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
4 А синови Мадијамови: Ефар и Афир и Енох и Авида и Елдага. Сви бјеху дјеца Хетурина. And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
5 А Аврам даде све што имаше Исаку; And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6 А синовима својих иноча даде Аврам даре, и оправи их од Исака сина својега још за живота својега на исток, у источни крај. But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
7 И вијека Аврамова што поживје бјеше сто и седамдесет и пет година. And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
8 И онемоћав умрије Аврам у доброј старости, сит живота, и би прибран к роду својему. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
9 И погребоше га Исак и Исмаило у пећини Макпелској на њиви Ефрона сина Сара Хетејина, која је према Мамрији; And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
10 На њиви коју купи Аврам од синова Хетовијех, ондје је погребен Аврам са Саром женом својом. The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
11 И по смрти Аврамовој благослови Бог Исака сина његова; а Исак живљаше код студенца живога који ме види. And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai–roi.
12 А ово је племе Исмаила сина Аврамова, којега роди Авраму Агара Мисирка робиња Сарина, Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
13 И ово су имена синова Исмаиловијех, како се зваху у племенима својим; првенац Исмаилов Навајот, па Кидар и Навдеило и Масам, And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 И Масма и Дума и Маса, And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15 И Хадар и Теман и Јетур и Нафес и Кедма. Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
16 То су синови Исмаилови, и то су им имена по селима и градовима њиховијем, дванаест кнезова над својим народима. These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
17 А године су вијека Исмаилова сто и тридесет и седам година. Послије онемоћав умрије, и би прибран к роду својему. And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.
18 И живљаху од Евилата до Сура према Мисиру, како се иде у Асирију; и допаде му према свој браћи својој да живи. And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
19 А ово је племе Исака сина Аврамова: Аврам роди Исака; And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
20 А Исаку бјеше четрдесет година кад се ожени Ревеком, кћерју Ватуила Сирина из Месопотамије, сестром Лавана Сирина. And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan–aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
21 И Исак се мољаше Господу за жену своју, јер бјеше нероткиња; и умоли Господа, те затрудње Ревека жена његова. And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22 Али удараху једно о друго дјеца у утроби њезиној, те рече: ако је тако, на што сам? И отиде да пита Господа. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.
23 А Господ јој рече: два су племена у утроби твојој, и два ће народа изаћи из тебе; и један ће народ бити јачи од другога народа, и већи ће служити мањему. And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 И кад дође вријеме да роди, а то близанци у утроби њезиној. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25 И први изађе црвен, сав као руно рутав, и надјеше му име Исав. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
26 А послије изађе брат му, држећи руком за пету Исава; и надјеше му име Јаков. А бјеше Исаку шездесет година, кад их роди Ревека. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
27 И дјеца одрастоше, и Исав поста ловац и ратар, а Јаков бјеше човјек кротак и бављаше се у шаторима. And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
28 И Исак миловаше Исава, јер радо јеђаше лова његова; а Ревека миловаше Јакова. And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 Једном Јаков скуха јело, а Исав дође из поља уморан. And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
30 И рече Исав Јакову: дај ми да једем тога јела црвенога, јер сам уморан. Отуда се прозва Едом. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 А Јаков му рече: продај ми данас првенаштво своје. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 А Исав одговори: ево, хоћу да умрем, па што ће ми првенаштво? And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 А Јаков рече: закуни ми се данас. И он му се закле; тако продаде своје првенаштво Јакову. And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 И Јаков даде Исаву хљеба и скуханога лећа, и он се наједе и напи, па уста и отиде. Тако Исав није марио за првенаштво своје. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
