| 1 | И науми Соломун да зида дом имену Господњему и дом царски себи. | And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the Lord, and an house for his kingdom. |
| 2 | И одброји Соломун седамдесет тисућа носилаца и осамдесет тисућа који ће тесати у гори, и три тисуће и шест стотина настојника над њима. | And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them. |
| 3 | И посла Соломун ка Хираму цару Тирском и поручи му: како је чинио Давиду оцу мојему и слао му дрва кедровијех да зида себи кућу гдје ће сједети, учини тако и мени. | And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me. |
| 4 | Ево рад сам зидати дом имену Господа Бога својега да му га посветим да се кади пред њим кадом мириснијем и да се постављају хљебови вазда и да се приносе жртве паљенице јутром и вечером, и у суботе и на младине и на празнике Господа Бога нашега, што треба да бива у Израиљу довијека. | Behold, I build an house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the Lord our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel. |
| 5 | А дом који ћу зидати биће велик, јер је Бог наш већи од свијех богова. | And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods. |
| 6 | А ко би могао њему сазидати дом кад га небо и небеса над небесима не могу обухватити? и ко сам ја да му сазидам дом? него само да се кади пред њим. | But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him? |
| 7 | Тако сада пошљи ми човјека вјешта, који умије радити од злата и од сребра и од мједи и од гвожђа и од скерлета и од црвца и од порфире, и који зна резати, да ради с умјетницима које имам код себе у Јудеји и у Јерусалиму, које је добавио Давид отац мој. | Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide. |
| 8 | И пошљи ми дрва кедровијех и јеловијех и алмугима с Ливана, јер знам да слуге твоје умију сјећи дрва Ливанска; а ево слуге ће моје бити с твојим слугама, | Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants, |
| 9 | Да ми приправе много дрва, јер дом што ћу зидати биће велик и диван. | Even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great. |
| 10 | А ево, посленицима који ће сјећи дрво, слугама твојим, даћу пшенице овршене двадесет тисућа кора, и двадесет тисућа кора јечма, и вина двадесет тисућа вата, и уља двадесет тисућа вата. | And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil. |
| 11 | И одговори Хирам цар Тирски у књизи коју посла Соломуну: што Господ љуби свој народ зато те постави царем над њим. | Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the Lord hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them. |
| 12 | И говораше Хирам: благословен да је Господ Бог Израиљев, који је створио небо и земљу, што је дао цару Давиду сина мудра, паметна и разумна, који ће сазидати дом Господу и царски дом себи. | Huram said moreover, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the Lord, and an house for his kingdom. |
| 13 | Шаљем ти дакле човјека вјешта и разумна, Хирама Авива, | And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father’s, |
| 14 | Сина једне жене између кћери Дановијех, којему је отац био Тирац; он умије радити од злата и од сребра, од мједи, од гвожђа, од камена и од дрвета, од скерлета, и од порфире, и од танкога платна и од црвца, и резати свашта, и измислити свашта вјешто што му се да, нека ради с твојим умјетницима и с умјетницима господара мојега Давида оца твојега. | The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father. |
| 15 | Нека дакле пшеницу и јечам, уље и вино, што је рекао господар мој, пошље слугама својим. | Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants: |
| 16 | А ми ћемо насјећи дрва на Ливану колико ти год треба, и спустићемо их у сплавовима морем у Јопу, а ти их оданде вози у Јерусалим. | And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem. |
| 17 | Тада Соломун изброји све иностранце који бијаху у земљи Израиљевој послије бројања кад их изброји Давид отац његов, и нађе их се сто и педесет и три тисуће и шест стотина; | And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred. |
| 18 | И одреди од њих седамдесет тисућа који ће носити, и осамдесет тисућа који ће тесати у планини, а три тисуће и шест стотина настојника да настоје да ради народ. | And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work. |
