| 1 | ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲁ ⲉϥϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲟⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲁⲧⲥⲁⲃⲟⲛ ⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲧⲥⲁⲃⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. | And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. |
| 2 | ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲓ̈ⲱⲧʾ ⲉⲧϩⲛ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲡ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲕⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣ͡ⲟ ⲉ͡ⲓ. ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ϣⲱⲡⲉ. | And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. |
| 3 | ⲡⲉⲛⲟⲓ̈ⲕ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲏⲛⲉ. | Give us day by day our daily bread. |
| 4 | ⲕⲁⲛⲉⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲕⲁⲓⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲧⲛ̅ⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣϫⲓⲧⲛ̅ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ. | And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. |
| 5 | ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ. ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧʾⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲕⲁⲟⲩϣⲃⲏⲣ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϥ̅ⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲁϣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲛϥ̅ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ. ⲡⲉϣⲃⲏⲣ. ⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲛϣⲟⲙⲛ̅ⲧ ⲛⲛⲟⲓ̈ⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲩϣⲁⲡ | And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; |
| 6 | ⲉⲡⲓⲇⲏ ⲁⲩϣⲃⲏⲣ ⲉ͡ⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲟⲓ̈ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ϯⲡⲉϯⲛⲁⲕⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲱϥ. | For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? |
| 7 | ⲡⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϥ̅ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲥⲁ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϥ̅ϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲟⲩⲉϩϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ̈ ⲁⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲓ̈ϣⲧⲁⲙ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲣⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁϣⲏⲣⲉ ϩⲓⲡⲉϭⲗⲟϭ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲓ̈ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϯ ⲛⲁⲕ | And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. |
| 8 | ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ϫⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉⲛϥ̅ⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉϯ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉ<ϥ>ϣⲃⲏⲣ ⲡⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲉϥⲙⲛ̅ⲧʾⲗⲁϭ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϥ̅ϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲧϥ̅ⲁϩⲉ ⲛⲁϥ. | I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. |
| 9 | ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ϯϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲧⲁⲣⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅. ϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛⲉ. ⲧⲱϩⲙ̅ ⲧⲁⲣⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅. | And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. |
| 10 | ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲧⲓ ϥⲛⲁϫⲓ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲓⲛⲉ ϥⲛⲁϭⲓⲛⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧʾⲧⲱϩⲙ̅ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛⲁϥ. | For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. |
| 11 | ⲛⲓⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧʾⲧⲏⲟⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲧⲃ̅ⲧ. ⲙⲏ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲧⲃ̅ⲧ ⲉϥⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩϩⲟϥ. | If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? |
| 12 | ⲏ ⲛϥ̅ⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲉϥⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲟϩⲉ. | Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? |
| 13 | ⲉϣϫⲉⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ϭⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̅ϯⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲏⲣⲉ. ⲡⲟⲥⲱ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱⲧʾ ϥⲛⲁϯ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ· | If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? |
| 14 | ⲛⲉϥⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲙⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ. ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲉⲙⲡⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣ̅ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲙ̅ⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ. | And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered. |
| 15 | ⲡⲉϫⲉϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲉϫⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲃⲉⲉⲗⲍⲉⲃⲟⲩⲗ ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲛⲛ̅ⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ. | But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils. |
| 16 | ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲟⲩⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲉ. | And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. |
| 17 | ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧʾ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲥϣⲁⲛⲡⲱϣ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϫⲱⲥ ϣⲁⲥⲣ̅ϫⲁⲓ̈ⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ̈ ⲉϫⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲏⲓ̈ ϣⲁϥϩⲉ. | But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. |
| 18 | ⲉϣϫⲉⲁⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲡⲱϣ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϫⲱϥ. ⲛ̅ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ϩⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲛⲁⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲥ̅. ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ⲛⲉϫⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲃⲉⲉⲗⲍⲉⲃⲟⲩⲗ. | If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. |
| 19 | ⲉϣϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲓ̈ⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛ̅ⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ϩⲛ̅ⲃⲉⲉⲗⲍⲉⲃⲟⲩⲗ. ⲉⲓ̈ⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲧⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲓⲙ. ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ̅ ⲣ̅ⲣⲉϥϯϩⲁⲡ. | And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. |
| 20 | ⲉϣϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ⲛⲉϫⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲧⲏⲏⲃⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ⲉ ⲁⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲱϩ ⲉϫⲱⲧⲛ̅. | But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. |
| 21 | ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲡⲉⲧϫⲟⲟⲣ ⲇⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲁⲩⲗⲏ ⲉϥϩⲏⲕ. ⲛⲉϥϩⲩⲡⲁⲣⲭⲟⲛⲧⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲓ̈ⲣⲏⲛⲏ. | When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: |
| 22 | ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲡⲉⲧϫⲟⲟⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲛϥ̅ϫⲣⲟ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ϥⲛⲁϥⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲡⲁⲛϩⲟⲡⲗⲓⲁ ⲉⲧϥ̅ⲕⲱ ⲛ̅ϩⲧⲏϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲛⲁⲥⲱⲣ ⲛⲛⲉϥϣⲱⲗ. | But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. |
| 23 | ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥ̅ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥϯ ⲟⲩⲃⲏⲓ̈. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥ̅ⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥϫⲱⲱⲣⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. | He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. |
| 24 | ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲉϥϣⲁⲛⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ. ϣⲁϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲙⲁ ⲉⲙⲙⲛ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉϥϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲟⲩⲙⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲧⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲧⲙ̅ϭⲓⲛⲉ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ϣⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲕⲧⲟⲓ̈ ⲉⲡⲁⲏⲓ̈ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ̅. | When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. |
| 25 | ⲉϥϣⲁⲛⲉ͡ⲓ ⲇⲉ ϣⲁϥϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥⲥⲁϩⲣ̅ ⲉϥⲧⲥⲁⲙⲓⲏⲟⲩ | And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. |
| 26 | ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ϣⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲛϥ̅ϫⲓ ⲛ̅ⲕⲉⲥⲁϣϥ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲉⲩϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲥⲉⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲛ̅ϩⲁⲉⲟⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲑⲟ ⲉⲛⲉϥϣⲟⲣⲡ̅· | Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. |
| 27 | ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲧⲣⲉϥϫⲉⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϥⲓϩⲣⲁⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ. ⲛⲁⲓ̈ⲁⲧⲥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲑⲏ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥϥⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲕ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉⲕⲓⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲕϫⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ. | And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. |
| 28 | ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ. ⲛⲁⲓ̈ⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ· | But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. |
| 29 | ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲛ̅ϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲅⲉⲛⲉⲁ ⲟⲩⲅⲉⲛⲉⲁ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ. ϣ̑ϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁⲟⲩⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲧⲁ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱⲛⲁⲥ. | And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. |
| 30 | ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲱⲛⲁⲥ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲣ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ⲅⲉⲛⲉⲁ. | For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. |
