1	표제와 인사 이 책은 예수 그리스도께서 계시하신 일들을 기록한 책입니다. 이 계시는 곧 일어나야 할 일들을 그 종들에게 보이시려고, 하나님께서 그리스도에게 주신 것입니다. 그런데 그리스도께서는 자기의 천사를 보내셔서, 자기의 종 요한에게 이것들을 알려 주셨습니다.	The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2	요한은, 하나님의 말씀과 예수 그리스도의 증거, 곧 자기가 본 것을 다 증언하였습니다.	Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
3	이 예언의 말씀을 읽는 사람과 듣는 사람들과 그 안에 기록되어 있는 것을 지키는 사람들은 복이 있습니다. 그 때가 가까웠기 때문입니다.	Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
4	나 요한은 아시아에 있는 일곱 교회에 이 편지를 씁니다. 지금도 계시고 전에도 계셨고 또 장차 오실 그분이 내려 주시고, 그의 보좌 앞에 있는 일곱 영이 내려 주시고,	John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5	또 신실한 증인이시요 죽은 사람의 첫 열매이시요 땅 위의 왕들의 지배자이신 예수 그리스도께서 내려 주시는 은혜와 평화가, 여러분에게 있기를 빕니다.예수 그리스도께서는 우리를 사랑하시며, 자기의 피로 우리의 죄에서 우리를 해방하여 주셨고,	And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6	우리로 나라를 이루셔서, 자기의 아버지 하나님을 섬기는 제사장으로 삼아 주셨습니다. 그에게 영광과 권세가 영원무궁 하도록 있기를 빕니다. 아멘.	And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7	"보아라, 그가 구름을 타고 오신다. 눈이 있는 사람은 다 그를 볼 것이요, 그를 찌른 사람들도 볼 것이다. 땅 위의 모든 족속이 그분 때문에 가슴을 칠 것이다." 꼭 그렇게 될 것입니다. 아멘.	Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8	지금도 계시고 전에도 계셨고 앞으로 오실 전능하신 주 하나님께서 "나는 알파요 오메가다" 하고 말씀하십니다.	I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
9	그리스도의 명령 예수 안에서 여러분의 형제요 예수 안에서 환난과 그 나라와 인내에 여러분과 더불어 참여한 사람인 나 요한은, 하나님의 말씀과 예수를 증언한 탓으로, 밧모라는 섬에 갇혀 있었습니다.	I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10	주의 날에 내가 성령 안에서 내 뒤에서 나팔과 같이 울리는 큰 음성을 들었는데,	I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11	이르시기를 "네가 보는 것을 책에 기록하여, 일곱 교회, 곧 에베소와 서머나와 버가모와 두아디라와 사데와 빌라델비아와 라오디게아에 있는 교회로 보내어라" 하셨습니다.	Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12	그래서 나는 내게 들려 오는 그 음성을 알아 보려고 돌아섰습니다. 돌아서서 보니, 일곱 금 촛대가 있는데,	And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13	그 촛대 한가운데 '인자와 같은 이'가 계셨습니다. 그는 발에 끌리는 긴 옷을 입고, 가슴에는 금띠를 띠고 계셨습니다.	And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14	머리와 머리털은 흰 양털과 같이, 또 눈과 같이 희고, 눈은 불꽃과 같고,	His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15	발은 화덕에 달구어 낸 놋쇠와 같고, 음성은 큰 물소리와 같았습니다.	And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16	또 오른손에는 일곱 별을 쥐고, 입에서는 날카로운 양날 칼이 뻗어 나오고, 얼굴은 해가 세차게 비치는 것과 같았습니다.	And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17	그를 뵐 때에, 내가 그의 발 앞에 엎어져서 죽은 사람과 같이 되니, 그가 내게 오른손을 얹고 말씀하셨습니다. "두려워하지 말아라. 나는 처음이며 마지막이요,	And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18	살아 있는 자다. 나는 한 번은 죽었으나, 보아라, 영원무궁 하도록 살아 있어서, 사망과 지옥의 열쇠를 가지고 있다.	I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
19	그러므로 너는, 네가 본 것과 지금의 일들과 이 다음에 일어날 일들을 기록하여라.	Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
20	네가 본 내 오른손의 일곱 별과 일곱 금 촛대의 비밀은 이러하다. 일곱 별은 일곱 교회의 천사요, 일곱 촛대는 일곱 교회다."	The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
