1	짐승 두 마리 나는 바다에서 짐승 하나가 올라오는 것을 보았습니다. 그 짐승은 뿔 열과 머리 일곱을 가졌는데, 그 뿔 하나하나에 왕관을 쓰고 있고, 그 머리 하나하나에는 하나님을 모독하는 이름이 붙어 있었습니다.	And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2	내가 본 그 짐승은 표범과 비슷한데, 그 발은 곰의 발과 같고, 그 입은 사자의 입과 같았습니다. 그 용이 자기 힘과 왕위와 큰 권세를 이 짐승에게 주었습니다.	And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3	그 머리 가운데서 하나는 치명상을 입은 듯하였습니다. 그러나 그 치명적인 상처가 나으니, 온 세상은 놀라서 그 짐승을 따라갔습니다.	And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4	용이 그 짐승에게 권세를 주니, 사람들은 그 용에게 경배하였습니다. 또 그들은 "누가 이 짐승과 같으랴? 누가 이 짐승과 맞서서 싸울 수 있으랴?" 하고 말하면서, 그 짐승에게 경배하였습니다.	And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5	그 짐승은, 큰소리를 치며 하나님을 모독하는 말을 하는 입을 받고, 마흔두 달 동안 활동할 권세를 받았습니다.	And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6	그 짐승은 입을 열어서 하나님을 모독하였으니, 하나님의 이름과 거처와 하늘에 사는 이들을 모독하였습니다.	And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7	그 짐승은 성도들과 싸워서 이길 것을 허락받고, 또 모든 종족과 백성과 언어와 민족을 다스리는 권세를 받았습니다.	And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8	그러므로 땅 위에 사는 사람 가운데서, 죽임을 당한 어린 양의 생명책에 창세 때부터 이름이 기록되어 있지 않은 사람은, 모두 그에게 경배할 것입니다.	And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9	귀가 있는 사람은 들으십시오.	If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10	"사로잡혀 가기로 되어 있는 사람이면, 사로잡혀 갈 것이요, 칼에 맞아서 죽임을 당하기로 되어 있는 사람이면, 칼에 맞아서 죽임을 당할 것이다." 여기에 성도들의 인내와 믿음이 필요합니다.	He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11	나는 또 땅에서 다른 짐승 하나가 올라오는 것을 보았습니다. 그것은 어린 양처럼 뿔이 둘 있고, 용처럼 말을 하였습니다.	And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12	이 짐승은 첫째 짐승이 가진 모든 권세를 그 첫째 짐승을 대신하여 행사하였습니다. 이 짐승은, 땅과 땅 위에 사는 모든 사람들로 하여금 치명상에서 나음을 받은 그 첫째 짐승에게 절하게 하였습니다.	And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13	또 그 짐승은 큰 기적들을 행하였는데, 사람들이 보는 앞에서 불이 하늘로부터 땅에 내려오게도 하였습니다.	And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14	그리고 그 첫째 짐승을 대신해서 행하도록 허락받은 그 기적들을 미끼로 해서 땅 위에 사는 사람들을 미혹하였습니다. 땅 위에 사는 사람들에게 칼에 맞아서 상처를 입고서도 살아난 그 짐승을 위하여 우상을 만들라고 말하였습니다.	And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15	그리고 둘째 짐승이 능력을 받아서 첫째 짐승의 우상에게 생기를 넣어 주고, 그 짐승의 우상으로 하여금 말을 하게도 하고, 또 우상에게 경배하지 않는 사람은 모두 죽임을 당하게도 하였습니다.	And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16	또 작은 자나 큰 자나, 부자나 가난한 자나, 자유인이나 종이나 할 것 없이, 다 그들의 오른손이나 이마에 표를 받게 하였습니다.	And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17	누구든지 이 표를 가진 사람, 곧 그 짐승의 이름이나, 그 이름을 나타내는 숫자로 표가 찍힌 사람이 아니면, 아무도 팔거나 사거나 할 수 없게 하였습니다.	And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18	여기에 지혜가 필요합니다. 지각이 있는 사람은 그 짐승을 상징하는 숫자를 세어 보십시오. 그 수는 어떤 사람을 가리키는데, 그 수는 육백육십육입니다.	Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
