1	유다 왕 여호아하스(왕하 23:30-35) 그 땅의 백성이 예루살렘에서 요시야의 아들 여호아하스를 세워, 그 아버지를 이어 왕으로 삼았다.	Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.
2	여호아하스가 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는 스물세 살이었다. 그가 예루살렘에서 나라를 다스린 지 석 달 만에,	Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
3	이집트의 왕이 예루살렘에서 여호아하스를 폐위시키고, 유다로 하여금 이집트에 은 백 달란트와 금 한 달란트를 조공으로 바치게 하였다.	And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
4	이집트의 느고 왕은 여호아하스의 동생 엘리아김을 세워 유다와 예루살렘의 왕으로 삼고, 엘리아김이라는 이름을 여호야김으로 바꾸게 하고, 왕이었던 그의 형 여호아하스는, 붙잡아서 이집트로 데려갔다.	And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5	유다 왕 여호야김(왕하 23:36-24:7) 여호야김이 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는 스물다섯 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 열한 해 동안 다스렸다. 그는 주 하나님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다.	Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God.
6	바빌로니아의 느부갓네살 왕이 올라와서 그를 치고, 쇠사슬로 묶어서, 바빌로니아로 잡아갔다.	Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
7	느부갓네살은 또 주의 성전 안에 있는 온갖 기구를 바빌로니아로 가지고 가서, 도성 바빌론에 있는 자기의 궁전에다 들여놓았다.	Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
8	여호야김의 나머지 사적과, 그가 저지른 모든 역겨운 일과, 그가 저지른 악한 행위는 '이스라엘과 유다 열왕기'에 기록되어 있다. 그의 아들 여호야긴이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.	Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
9	유다 왕 여호야긴(왕하 24:8-17) 여호야긴이 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는 여덟 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 석 달 열흘 동안 다스렸다. 그는 주께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다.	Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.
10	그 해 봄에, 느부갓네살 왕이 사람을 시켜서 여호야긴을 바빌로니아로 잡아가고, 주의 성전에 있는 값비싼 온갖 기구도 함께 가져 갔으며, 여호야긴의 삼촌 시드기야를 세워서 유다와 예루살렘의 왕으로 삼았다.	And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11	유다 왕 시드기야(왕하 24:18-20; 렘 52:1-3상) 시드기야가 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는 스물한 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 열한 해 동안 다스렸다.	Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
12	그는 주 하나님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다. 그는 주의 입에서 나오는 말씀을 선포하는 예레미야 예언자 앞에서 겸손하게 말씀을 받아들이지 않았다.	And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the Lord.
13	예루살렘의 함락(왕하 25:1-21; 렘 52:3하-11) 느부갓네살은 강제로, 시드기야가 하나님의 이름으로 충성을 맹세하도록 하였다. 시드기야는 억지로 충성을 맹세하였지만, 마침내 느부갓네살 왕에게 반항하기까지 하였다. 다른 한 편으로, 시드기야는 고집을 부리며, 조금도 뉘우치지 않고, 주 이스라엘의 하나님께로 돌아오지 않았다.	And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.
14	지도급 인사들인 제사장들과 일반 백성도 크게 죄를 지어, 이방의 모든 역겨운 일을 따라 하였으며, 마침내 그들은 주께서 자신의 것으로 거룩하게 하신 예루살렘 성전을 더럽히고 말았다.	Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the Lord which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
15	그들의 조상의 하나님이신 주께서 그들과 그 성전을 구원하실 뜻으로, 자신의 백성에게 예언자들을 보내시고 또 보내셔서, 경고에 경고를 거듭하셨지만,	And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16	그들은 하나님의 특사를 조롱하고, 하나님의 말씀을 무시하고, 하나님의 예언자들을 비웃었다. 그러다가 마침내, 자신의 백성을 향한 주의 분노가 치솟으시니, 백성을 바로 잡을 길이 전혀 없었다.	But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17	하나님께서 바빌로니아의 왕을 불러다가, 자신의 백성을 치게 하셨다. 그래서 그 왕은 유다의 젊은이들을 닥치는 대로 칼로 쳐죽였다. 심지어는 성전 안에서도 그러한 살육을 삼가지 않았다. 그 왕은 잔인하였다. 젊은이나 늙은이, 여자나 남자, 병약한 사람이나 건강한 사람을 가리지 않았다. 하나님은 이렇게 자신의 백성을 그 왕의 손에 넘기셨다.	Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
18	바빌로니아 왕은 하나님의 성전 안에 있는 크고 작은 기구와, 주의 성전 안에 있는 보물과, 왕과 신하들이 가지고 있는 보물을 모두 도성 바빌론으로 가져 갔다.	And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19	그 왕은 또 하나님의 성전을 불사르고, 예루살렘 성벽을 헐고, 궁궐들을 다 불사르고, 값진 그릇들을 다 부수어 버렸다.	And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
20	그는 또 칼에 맞아 죽지 않고 살아 남은 자들은, 바빌로니아로 데리고 가서, 왕과 왕자들의 노예로 삼았다. 그들은 페르시아 제국이 일어서기까지 거기서 노예 생활을 하였다.	And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21	그리하여 주께서 예레미야를 시켜서 "땅이 칠십 년 동안 황폐하게 되어, 그 동안 누리지 못한 안식을 다 누리게 될 것이다" 하신 말씀이 이루어졌다.	To fulfil the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
22	고레스의 귀국 명령(라 1:1-4) 페르시아의 고레스 왕이 왕위에 오른 첫 해에, 주께서는 예레미야를 시켜서 하신 말씀을 이루시려고, 페르시아의 고레스 왕의 마음을 움직이셨다. 고레스는 온 나라에 명령을 내리고, 그것을 다음과 같이 조서로 써서 돌렸다.	Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23	"페르시아의 고레스 왕은 다음과 같이 선포한다. 주 하늘의 하나님께서 나에게 이 땅 위의 모든 나라를 주셔서 다스리게 하시고, 유다의 예루살렘에 그의 성전을 지으라고 명하셨다. 이 나라 사람 가운데, 하나님을 섬기는 모든 백성에게, 하나님께서 함께 계시기를 빈다. 그들을 모두 올라가게 하여라."	Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.
