1	서쪽 므낫세 반쪽 지파의 땅 요단 강 서쪽 땅 일부는 요셉의 맏아들인 므낫세 지파가 제비를 뽑아서 나누어 가졌다. 길르앗의 아버지 마길은 므낫세의 맏아들이며 전쟁 영웅이었으므로, 요단 강 동쪽에 있는 길르앗과 바산을 이미 자기의 몫으로 차지하였다.	There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
2	요단 강 서쪽 땅은 므낫세의 남은 자손 가운데서 아비에셀과 헬렉과 아스리엘과 세겜과 헤벨과 스미다와 같은 이들의 가문이 차지하였다. 이들은 요셉의 아들 므낫세의 남자 자손으로서, 가문을 이룬 이들이다.	There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
3	므낫세 자손 가운데 슬로브핫이라는 사람이 있었다. 므낫세의 아들 마길은 길르앗을 낳았고, 길르앗의 아들 헤벨은 슬로브핫을 낳았는데, 슬로브핫은 딸만 낳았으며, 아들이 없었다. 그 딸들의 이름은 말라와 노아와 호글라와 밀가와 디르사이다.	But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
4	그들이 제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 지도자들 앞에 나아와서 말하였다. "주께서 모세에게, 우리 남자 친족이 유산을 받을 때에, 우리도 그 가운데 끼워 주라고 명령하셨습니다." 그래서 여호수아는, 주의 명대로 그들의 아버지의 남자 친족들이 유산을 받을 때에, 그들을 그 가운데 끼워 주었다.	And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The Lord commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the Lord he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
5	그래서 요단 강 동쪽의 길르앗과 바산 땅 밖에도, 므낫세에게 열 몫이 더 돌아갔다.	And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;
6	므낫세 지파의 딸들이 아들들 가운데 끼어 유산을 받았기 때문이다. 길르앗 땅은 므낫세의 남은 자손들의 몫이 되었다.	Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh’s sons had the land of Gilead.
7	므낫세의 경계선은, 아셀에서부터 세겜의 동쪽에 있는 믹므닷에 이르고, 남쪽으로 가서 엔답부아 주민이 살고 있는 땅에까지 미친다.	And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of En–tappuah.
8	답부아 주변의 땅은 므낫세의 소유이나, 경계선에 있는 답부아 성읍은 에브라임 자손의 소유이다.	Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
9	또 그 경계선은 가나 개울로 내려간다. 그 개울 남쪽으로 성읍들이 있는데, 이것들은 므낫세의 지역 가운데 있지만, 에브라임에 딸린 것이다. 므낫세의 경계선은 그 개울의 북쪽으로부터 시작하여, 지중해에 이르러 끝난다.	And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
10	그 남쪽은 에브라임의 소유이고, 북쪽은 므낫세의 소유인데, 지중해가 그들의 서쪽 경계이다. 그 땅이 북서쪽으로는 아셀에 맞닿고, 북동쪽으로는 잇사갈에 맞닿았다.	Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
11	벳스안과 그 변두리 마을, 이블르암과 그 변두리 마을, 해안에 있는 도르의 주민과 그 변두리 마을, 엔돌의 주민과 그 변두리 마을, 다아낙 주민과 그 변두리 마을, 므깃도의 주민과 그 변두리 마을은(셋째는 나벳인데), 잇사갈과 아셀의 지역 안에 있는 므낫세의 소유이다.	And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth–shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
12	므낫세 자손이 이 성읍들의 주민을 쫓아내지 못하였으므로, 가나안 사람들은 그 땅에서 살기로 마음을 굳혔다.	Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
13	이스라엘 자손이 강성해진 다음에 가나안 사람에게 노동을 시켰으나, 그들을 다 쫓아내지는 않았다.	Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.
14	에브라임과 므낫세 지파가 땅을 더 요구함 요셉 자손이 여호수아에게 말하였다. "주께서 지금까지 우리에게 복을 주셔서, 우리가 큰 무리가 되었는데, 왜 우리에게, 한 번만 제비를 뽑아서 한 몫만 유산으로 가지게 하십니까?"	And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the Lord hath blessed me hitherto?
15	여호수아가 그들에게 말하였다. "너희가 큰 무리라서 에브라임 산간지방이 너희에게 작다면, 거기에서 브리스 사람과 르바임 사람의 땅인 삼림지대로 올라가 그 곳을 개간하여라."	And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
16	요셉 자손이 말하였다. "그 산간지방은 우리에게 넉넉하지 못하고, 그 골짜기 땅, 곧 벳스안과 그 변두리 마을과 이스르엘 골짜기에 사는 가나안 사람들에게는 다 철 병거가 있습니다."	And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth–shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
17	여호수아가 다시 요셉 족속인 에브라임 지파와 서쪽 므낫세 지파에게 말하였다. "너희는 큰 무리요, 큰 세력도 가졌으니, 한 몫만 가질 일이 아니다.	And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
18	산간지방도 너희의 것이 될 것이다. 산간지방이라 하더라도, 그 곳을 개간하여 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 차지하여라. 가나안 사람들이 철 병거를 가져서 강하다 하더라도, 너희는 그들을 쫓아낼 수 있다."	But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
