1	왕과 모르드개가 칭송을 받다 아하수에로 왕은, 본토뿐 아니라, 바다 건너 여러 섬에도 조공을 바치라고 명령하였다.	And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
2	그가 그 막강한 힘과 권력을 가지고 이룬 모든 업적과, 모르드개에게 높은 벼슬을 주어서 영화롭게 한 모든 내용이, 메대와 페르시아의 왕조실록에 기록되어서 전하여 온다.	And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3	유다 사람 모르드개는, 아하수에로 왕 다음으로 실권이 있었다. 그는 유다 사람들 사이에서 존경을 받았다. 특히 자기 백성이 잘 되도록 꾀하였고, 유다 사람들이 안전하게 살도록 애썼으므로, 같은 겨레인 유다 사람은 모두 그를 좋아하였다.	For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
