1	애가 "너는, 이스라엘의 지도자들에게 불러 줄 애가를 지어라.	Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2	너는 이렇게 불러라. '너의 어머니는 누구였느냐? 사자들 가운데 엎드려 있으면서, 젊은 사자들 틈에서 제 새끼들을 기르던 암사자였다.	And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
3	그 새끼들 가운데서 하나를 키웠더니, 젊은 사자가 되었다. 그가 사냥하는 것을 배워, 사람을 잡아 먹으니,	And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
4	이방 민족들이 이 소식을 듣고, 함정을 파서 그를 잡아 갈고리로 꿰서, 이집트 땅으로 끌어 갔다.	The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
5	암사자는 새끼를 기다리다가 희망이 끊어진 것을 깨닫고, 제 새끼들 가운데서 다른 것을 하나 골라, 젊은 사자로 키웠더니,	Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
6	그가 사자들 가운데서 어울리며, 젊은 사자가 되었다. 그가 사냥하는 것을 배워, 사람을 잡아 먹으며	And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
7	그들의 거처를 모두 파괴하니, 성읍들이 황량해지고 그의 으르렁대는 소리에 땅과 그 안에 가득 찬 것이 황폐해졌다.	And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
8	그러자 이방 민족들이 그를 치려고 사방 여러 지역에서 와서, 그의 위에 그물을 치고 함정을 파서 잡아	Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
9	갈고리로 그의 코를 꿰어 철창에 넣어서, 바빌로니아 왕에게로 데리고 갔다. 그들은 그의 으르렁대는 소리가 다시는 이스라엘의 모든 산에 들리지 않게, 그를 감옥에 가두었다.	And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
10	네 어머니는 네 포도원 안에 있는 물가에 심은 포도나무와 같아서, 물이 많으므로 열매가 많고 가지가 무성하며,	Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
11	그 가지 가운데 가장 센 가지가 통치자의 홀이 되었다. 그 하나가 굵고 큰 가지들보다 더 높이 솟았고 많은 가지 가운데서 우뚝 솟았으나	And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
12	그 포도나무가 분노 가운데 뽑혀서 땅바닥에 던져지니, 그 열매가 동풍에 마르고, 그 튼튼한 가지들은 꺾이고 말라서, 불에 타 버렸다.	But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
13	이제는 그 나무가 광야에, 가물고 메마른 땅에 심겨 있다.	And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
14	그 가운데 큰 가지에서 불이 솟아 나와 그 가지와 열매를 태워 버리니, 통치자들의 홀이 될 만한 튼튼한 가지가 하나도 남지 않았다.'" 이것은 애가인데, 늘 부르는 애가가 되었다.	And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
