1	너희가 땅 위에서 사는 날 동안, 주 너희 조상의 하나님이 너희에게 차지하게 하신 땅에서, 너희가 지켜야 할 규례와 법도는 다음과 같다.	These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the Lord God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
2	너희는 너희가 쫓아낼 민족들이 뭇 신을 섬기는 곳은, 높은 산이든지 낮은 언덕이든지 무성한 나무 아래든지, 어느 곳이든지 다 허물어야 한다.	Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
3	거기에 있는 제단을 허물고, 석상을 부수고, 아세라 목상을 불태우고, 신상들을 부수고, 그들의 이름을 그 곳에서 지워서 아무도 기억하지 못하게 하여야 한다.	And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
4	그러나 너희는 주 너희의 하나님을 섬길 때에 이방 민족들이 그들의 신들을 섬기는 방식으로 섬겨서는 안 된다.	Ye shall not do so unto the Lord your God.
5	너희는, 주 너희의 하나님이 당신의 이름을 두려고 거처로 삼으신, 너희 모든 지파 가운데서 택하신 그 곳으로 찾아가서 예배를 드려야 한다.	But unto the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
6	너희는, 번제물과 화목제물과 십일조와 높이 들어 바치는 곡식제물과 서원제물과 자원제물과 소나 양의 처음 난 것을, 그 곳으로 가져다가 바쳐야 한다.	And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
7	너희는 주 너희의 하나님이 계시는 그 앞에서 먹어라. 그리고 주 너희의 하나님이 너희가 수고한 일에 복을 베푸신 것을 생각하면서, 가족과 함께 즐거워하여라.	And there ye shall eat before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the Lord thy God hath blessed thee.
8	오늘 여기에서는 우리가 저마다 자기의 소견대로 예배를 드리지만, 거기에 가서는 그렇게 하지 못한다.	Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
9	주 너희의 하나님이 너희에게 유산으로 주시는 땅에 아직 이르지 못하고, 그 곳에서 누릴 안식을 아직 얻지 못한 지금은, 너희가 소견대로 한다.	For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you.
10	그러나 너희가 요단 강을 건너가서, 주 너희의 하나님이 너희에게 유산으로 주시는 땅에 정착할 때에는, 또 주께서 사방에 있는 모든 적들의 위협을 물리치시고, 너희에게 안식을 주셔서, 너희를 평안히 살게 하실 그 때에는,	But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the Lord your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
11	너희는, 내가 너희에게 명한 모든 것, 곧 번제물과 화목제물과 십일조와 높이 들어 바치는 곡식제물과 주께 바치기로 서원한 모든 서원제물을, 주 너희의 하나님이 당신의 이름을 두려고 선택하신 그 곳으로 가지고 가서 바쳐야 한다.	Then there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the Lord:
12	거기에서 너희는 주 너희의 하나님을 앞에 모시고 즐거워하여라. 너희만이 아니라, 너희의 자녀들, 남종과 여종, 너희처럼 차지할 몫이나 유산도 없이 성 안에서 사는 레위 사람을 다 불러서 함께 즐거워하여라.	And ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
13	너희는 너희가 택한 아무 곳에서나 번제를 드리는 일이 없도록 조심하여라.	Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:
14	주께서 너희의 지파 가운데서 한 곳을 택하실 터이니, 그 곳으로 가서 번제를 드리고, 내가 너희에게 명령한 다른 모든 것을 지켜라.	But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
15	너희는, 주 하나님이 너희에게 베풀어 주신 복을 따라서, 마음에 내키는 대로, 성 안 어디서든지 짐승을 잡아먹을 수 있다. 정한 사람이든지 부정을 탄 사람이든지, 모두 다 노루나 사슴 고기를 먹듯이, 잡은 짐승의 고기를 먹을 수 있다.	Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
16	그러나 피는 먹지 못한다. 물처럼 땅에 쏟아 버려야 한다.	Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
17	너희가 십일조로 바친 곡식과 포도주와 기름과 소와 양의 처음 난 것과 서원하고 드린 갖가지 서원제물과 자원제물과 높이 들어 바치는 곡식제물은, 성 안에서는 먹을 수 없다.	Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:
18	그것은, 주 너희의 하나님이 택하신 곳으로 가지고 가서, 주 너희의 하나님을 앞에 모시고 먹어라. 너희와 너희의 자녀와 남종과 여종과 성 안에 사는 레위 사람과 함께 먹고, 주 너희의 하나님 앞에서 높이 들어 바친 모든 것을 즐거워하여라.	But thou must eat them before the Lord thy God in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
19	부디 너희는 그 땅에 사는 동안에 레위 사람을 저버리지 않도록 하여라.	Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.
20	주 너희의 하나님이 너희에게 약속하신 대로, 너희의 땅의 경계를 넓혀 주신 뒤에, 너희가 고기 생각이 나서 고기를 먹겠다고 하면, 너희는 언제든지 마음껏 고기를 먹을 수 있다.	When the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
21	주 너희의 하나님이 당신의 이름을 두려고 택하신 곳이 너희가 있는 곳에서 멀거든, 내가 너희에게 명한 대로, 주께서 너희에게 주신 소나 양을 잡아서, 너희의 마음에 내키는 대로 성 안에서 먹어라.	If the place which the Lord thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the Lord hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
22	정한 사람이든지 부정을 탄 사람이든지, 모두 다 노루나 사슴 고기를 먹듯이, 성 안에서 잡은 그 고기를 먹을 수 있다.	Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.
23	그러나 어떤 일이 있어도 피는 먹어서는 안 된다. 피는 생명이고, 생명을 고기와 함께 먹어서는 안 되기 때문이다.	Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
24	피는 먹지 못한다. 물처럼 땅에 쏟아 버려야 한다.	Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
25	그것을 먹어서는 안 된다. 너희가 주님 보시기에 바른 일을 하여야, 너희와 너희의 자손도 잘 될 것이다.	Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
26	그러나 너희가 바치고자 하는 거룩한 제물이나 서원제물만은, 주께서 택하신 그 곳으로 가지고 가야 한다.	Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the Lord shall choose:
27	너희가 번제를 드릴 때에는, 고기와 피를 주 너희 하나님의 제단에 드려라. 그리고 너희가 바친 제물의 피는 주 너희 하나님의 제단 곁에 붓고, 고기는 너희가 먹어라.	And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the Lord thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the Lord thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.
28	내가 너희에게 명하는 이 모든 말을 잘 들어서 지키고, 또 주 너희의 하나님 앞에서 선과 의를 행하면, 너희뿐만 아니라 너희의 자손도 영원토록 복을 받을 것이다."	Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God.
29	우상숭배 경고 "주 너희의 하나님은, 너희가 들어가서 차지하려는 곳에 사는 민족들을 너희 앞에서 없애 버리실 것이며, 너희는 그들이 살던 땅을 차지하고, 그 곳에서 살게 될 것이다.	When the Lord thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;
30	그들이 너희 앞에서 멸망한 뒤에, 너희가 그들의 종교적인 관습을 따르다가, 올무에 걸리는 일이 없도록 조심하여라. '이 민족들이 자기들의 신들을 어떻게 섬겼을까? 나도 한 번 그렇게 해 보았으면 좋겠다' 하면서, 그들의 신들을 섬기는 일이 없도록 하여라.	Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
31	너희는 주 너희의 하나님을 섬길 때에 이방 민족들이 그들의 신들을 섬기는 방식으로 섬겨서는 안 된다. 주께서는, 그들이 신들을 섬길 때에 사용하는 모든 의식을 싫어하시고 역겨워하신다. 그들은 자기들의 아들이나 딸마저도 불에 살라 신에게 바친다.	Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
32	너희는 내가 너희에게 명한 이 모든 것을 지키고, 거기에 한 마디도 더하거나 빼서는 안 된다.	What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
