1	회개의 탄원 함께 모여라. 함께 모여라. 창피한 줄도 모르는 백성아!	Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
2	정해진 때가 이르기 전에 세월이 겨처럼 날아가기 전에, 주의 격렬한 분노가 너희에게 이르기 전에, 주께서 진노하시는 날이 너희에게 이르기 전에, 함께 모여라.	Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger come upon you.
3	주의 명령을 따르면서 살아가는 이 땅의 모든 겸손한 사람들아, 너희는 주를 찾아라. 올바로 살도록 힘쓰고, 겸손하게 살도록 애써라. 주께서 진노하시는 날에, 행여 화를 피할 수 있을지도 모른다.	Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.
4	이스라엘 주변 나라들이 받는 벌 가사는 버림을 받을 것이며, 아스글론은 폐허가 될 것이다. 아스돗은 대낮에 텅 빌 것이며, 에그론은 뿌리째 뽑힐 것이다.	For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
5	바닷가에서 사는 자들아, 그렛 섬에서 사는 민족아, 너희에게 재앙이 닥칠 것이다. 블레셋 땅 가나안아, 주께서 너희에게 판결을 내리신다. "내가 너희를 없애 버려서 아무도 살아 남지 못하게 하겠다."	Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the Lord is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
6	바닷가의 땅은 풀밭이 되고, 거기에 목동의 움막과 양 떼의 우리가 생길 것이다.	And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
7	바닷가 일대는, 살아 남은 유다 가문의 몫이 될 것이다. 거기에서 양 떼를 먹이다가 해가 지면, 아스글론에 있는 집으로 가서 누울 것이다. 주 그들의 하나님이 그들을 돌보셔서 사로잡혀 있는 곳에서 돌아가게 하실 것이다.	And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
8	"모압이 욕을 퍼붓는 것과, 암몬 자손이 악담을 퍼붓는 것을, 내가 들었다. 그들이 나의 백성에게 욕을 퍼붓고, 국경을 침범하였다.	I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
9	그러므로 나는 나의 삶을 두고 맹세한다. 이스라엘의 하나님, 만군의 주가 선언한다. 이제 곧 모압은 소돔처럼 되고, 암몬 자손은 고모라처럼 될 것이다. 거친 풀이 우거지고, 둘레가 온통 소금 구덩이가 되고, 영원히 황무지가 될 것이다. 살아 남은 나의 백성이 그들을 털며, 살아 남은 나의 겨레가 그 땅을 유산으로 얻을 것이다."	Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
10	이것은, 그들이 거만을 떤 것에 대한 보복이다. 그들이 만군의 주의 백성에게 욕을 퍼부은 탓이다.	This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the Lord of hosts.
11	주께서 땅의 모든 신을 파멸하실 때에, 사람들은, 주님이 무서운 분이심을 알게 될 것이다. 이방의 모든 섬 사람이 저마다 제 고장에서 주를 섬길 것이다.	The Lord will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
12	"에티오피아 사람아, 너희도 나의 칼에 맞아서 죽을 것이다."	Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.
13	주께서 북녘으로 손을 뻗으시어 앗시리아를 멸하며, 니느웨를 황무지로 만드실 것이니, 사막처럼 메마른 곳이 될 것이다.	And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
14	골짜기에 사는 온갖 들짐승이 그 가운데 떼를 지어 누울 것이며, 갈가마귀도 올빼미도 기둥 꼭대기에 깃들 것이며, 창문 턱에 앉아서 지저귈 것이다. 문간으로 이르는 길에는 돌조각이 너저분하고, 송백나무 들보는 삭아 버릴 것이다.	And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.
15	본래는 한껏 으스대던 성, 안전하게 살 수 있다던 성, "세상에는 나밖에 없다" 하면서, 속으로 뽐내던 성이다. 그러나 어찌하여 이처럼 황폐하게 되었느냐? 들짐승이나 깃드는 곳이 되었느냐? 지나가는 사람마다 비웃으며 손가락질을 할 것이다.	This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
