1	성령을 약속하심 데오빌로님, 나는 첫째 책에서 예수께서 행하시고 가르치신 모든 일을 다루었습니다.	The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2	나는 거기에다가, 예수께서 활동을 시작하신 때로부터, 택하신 사도들에게 성령의 힘으로 지시를 내리신 다음에 하늘로 올라가신 날까지, 하신 모든 일을 수록하였습니다.	Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3	예수께서는 고난을 받으신 뒤에, 자기가 살아 계심을 여러 가지 증거로 드러내셨습니다. 그는 사십 일 동안 사도들에게 여러 차례 나타나시고, 하나님 나라를 두고 여러 가지 일을 말씀하셨습니다.	To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4	예수께서는 사도들과 함께 계시는 동안에 그들에게 명하시기를 "너희는 예루살렘을 떠나지 말고, 내게서 들은 아버지의 약속을 기다려라.	And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5	요한은 물로 세례를 주었으나, 너희는 여러 날이 되지 않아서 성령으로 세례를 받을 것이다" 하셨습니다.	For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6	예수의 승천 사도들이, 한자리에 모였을 때에 예수께 여쭈었다. "주님, 주께서 이스라엘을 위하여 나라를 되찾아 주실 때가 바로 지금입니까?"	When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7	예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "때나 시기는 아버지께서 아버지의 권한으로 정하신 것이니, 너희가 알 바가 아니다.	And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8	그러나 성령이 너희에게 내리시면, 너희는 권능을 받고, 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아에서, 그리고 마침내 땅 끝에까지, 나의 증인이 될 것이다."	But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9	이 말씀을 하신 뒤에, 주께서 그들이 보는 앞에서 들려 올라가시니, 구름에 싸여서 보이지 않게 되었다.	And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10	예수께서 올라가실 때에, 그들이 하늘을 쳐다보고 있는데, 갑자기 흰 옷을 입은 사람 둘이 그들 곁에 서서	And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11	"갈릴리 사람들아, 어찌하여 하늘을 쳐다보면서 서 있느냐? 너희를 떠나서 하늘로 올라가신 이 예수는, 하늘로 올라가시는 것을 너희가 본 그대로 다시 오실 것이다" 하고 말하였다.	Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12	유다 대신에 맛디아를 뽑다 그런 다음에, 사도들은 올리브라고 하는 산으로부터 예루살렘에 돌아왔다. 그 산은 예루살렘에서 안식일에도 걸어갈 수 있을 만큼 가까운 거리에 있다.	Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
13	그들은 성 안으로 들어와서, 자기들이 묵고 있는 다락방으로 올라갔다. 이 사람들은 베드로와 요한과 야고보와 안드레와 빌립과 도마와 바돌로매와 마태와 알패오의 아들 야고보와 열혈당원 시몬과 야고보의 아들 유다이다.	And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14	이들은 모두, 여인들과 예수의 어머니 마리아와 예수의 동생들과 함께 마음을 모아 기도에 힘썼다.	These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15	그 무렵에 신도들이 모였는데, 그 수가 백이십 명쯤이었다. 베드로가 그 신도들 가운데 일어서서 말하였다.	And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16	"형제자매 여러분, 예수를 잡아간 사람들의 앞잡이가 된 유다에 대해서는 성령이 다윗의 입을 빌어 미리 말씀하신 그 성경 말씀이 당연히 이루어진 것뿐입니다.	Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17	그는 우리 가운데 한 사람으로서 우리 직무의 한 몫을 맡았었습니다.	For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18	(그런데 이 사람은 불의한 삯으로 밭을 샀습니다. 그래서 그는 거꾸러져서, 배가 터지고, 창자가 쏟아졌습니다.	Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19	이 일은 예루살렘에 사는 모든 주민이 다 알고 있으며, 그들은 그 땅을 자기들의 말로 아겔다마라고 하는데, 그것은 '피의 땅'이라는 뜻입니다.)	And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20	시편에 기록하기를 '그의 주거지가 폐허가 되게 하시고, 그 안에서 사는 사람이 없게 하십시오' 하였고, 또 기록하기를 '그의 직분을 다른 사람이 차지하게 해주십시오' 하였습니다.	For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
21	그러므로 주 예수께서 우리와 함께 지내시는 동안에,	Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22	곧 요한이 세례를 주던 때로부터 시작해서 예수께서 우리를 떠나 하늘로 올라가신 날까지 늘 우리와 함께 다닌 사람들 가운데 하나를 뽑아서, 우리와 더불어 부활의 증인으로 삼아야 할 것입니다."	Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23	그래서 그들은 바사바라고도 하고 유스도라고도 하는 요셉과 맛디아 두 사람을 앞에 세우고,	And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24	기도하여 아뢰었다. "모든 사람의 마음을 다 아시는 주님, 주께서 이 두 사람 가운데서 누구를 뽑아서	And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25	이 섬기는 일과 사도의 직무를 맡기시겠는지, 우리에게 보여 주십시오. 유다는 이 직무를 버리고, 제가 갈 곳으로 갔습니다."	That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26	그리고 그들에게 제비를 뽑게 하니, 맛디아가 뽑혀서, 열한 사도와 함께 사도의 수에 들었다.	And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
