1	그리스도의 겸손 그러므로 그리스도 안에서 여러분에게 어떠한 격려나, 사랑의 어떠한 위로나, 성령의 어떠한 교제나, 어떠한 동정심과 자비가 있거든,	If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2	여러분은 같은 생각을 품고, 같은 사랑을 가지고, 뜻을 합하고, 한 마음이 되어서, 나의 기쁨이 넘치게 해주십시오.	Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3	어떤 일을 하든지, 다툼이나 허영으로 하지 말고, 겸손한 마음으로 하고, 서로 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기십시오.	Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4	또한 여러분은 자기 일만 돌보지 말고, 서로 다른 사람들의 일도 돌보아 주십시오.	Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5	여러분은 이런 태도를 가지십시오. 그것은 곧 그리스도 예수께서 보여 주신 태도입니다.	Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6	그분은 하나님의 모습을 지니셨으나, 하나님과 동등함을 당연하게 생각하지 않으시고,	Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7	오히려 자기를 비워서 종의 모습을 취하시고, 사람과 같이 되셨습니다. 그는 사람의 모양으로 나타나셔서,	But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8	자기를 낮추시고, 죽기까지 순종하셨으니, 곧 십자가에 죽기까지 하셨습니다.	And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9	그러므로 하나님께서는 그를 지극히 높이시고, 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 그에게 주셨습니다.	Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10	그리하여 하나님께서, 하늘과 땅 위와 땅 아래에 있는 이들 모두가 예수의 이름 앞에 무릎을 꿇게 하시고,	That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11	모두가 예수 그리스도는 주님이시라고 고백하게 하셔서, 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨습니다.	And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12	하나님의 자녀답게 살라 그러므로 나의 사랑하는 여러분, 여러분이 언제나 순종한 대로, 내가 함께 있을 때뿐만 아니라, 지금과 같이 내가 없을 때에도 더욱더 순종하여서, 두렵고 떨리는 마음으로 자기의 구원을 이루어 나가십시오.	Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13	하나님께서는 여러분 안에서 활동하셔서, 여러분으로 하여금 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 것을 염원하고, 실천하게 하시는 분이십니다.	For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14	무슨 일을 하든지, 불평이나 시비를 하지 말고 하십시오.	Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15	그리하여 여러분은, 흠이 없고 순결해져서, 구부러지고 뒤틀린 세대 가운데서, 하나님의 흠없는 자녀가 되어야 합니다. 그리하면 여러분은 이 세상에서 별처럼 빛날 것입니다.	That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16	생명의 말씀을 굳게 잡으십시오. 그리하면 내가 달음질한 것과 수고한 것이 헛되지 아니하여, 그리스도의 날에 내가 자랑할 수 있을 것입니다.	Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
17	그리고 여러분의 믿음의 제사와 예배에, 나의 피를 붓는 일이 있을지라도, 나는 기뻐하고, 여러분 모두와 함께 기뻐하겠습니다.	Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
18	여러분도 이와 같이 기뻐하고, 나와 함께 기뻐하십시오.	For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
19	디모데와 에바브로디도 나는 주 예수 안에서 디모데를 여러분에게 곧 보내고 싶습니다. 그것은 나도 여러분의 형편을 알고 격려를 받으려는 것입니다.	But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
20	나에게는, 그와 같은 마음으로 여러분의 형편을 진심으로 염려해 줄 사람이 아무도 없습니다.	For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
21	모두 다 자기의 일에만 관심이 있고, 그리스도 예수의 일에는 관심이 없습니다.	For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
22	그러나 디모데의 인품은, 여러분이 잘 알고 있습니다. 그는, 자식이 아버지에게 하듯이, 복음을 전하려고 나와 함께 봉사하였습니다.	But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
23	그러므로 나의 일이 되어 가는 것을 보아서, 그를 곧 보낼 수 있기를 바랍니다.	Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
24	그리고 나도 곧 가게 되리라는 것을 주님 안에서 확신합니다.	But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
25	그러나 나는, 나의 형제요 동역자요 전우요 여러분의 사신이요 내가 쓸 것을 공급한 일꾼인 에바브로디도를, 여러분에게 보내야 할 필요가 있다고 생각하였습니다.	Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
26	그는 여러분 모두를 그리워하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 자기가 앓았다는 소식을 여러분이 들었으므로, 몹시 걱정하고 있습니다.	For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.
27	사실 그는 병이 나서 죽을 뻔하였습니다. 그러나 하나님께서 그를 불쌍히 여기시고, 그만 아니라 나도 불쌍히 여기셔서, 나에게 근심이 겹치지 않게 하셨습니다.	For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
28	그러므로 내가 더욱 서둘러 그를 보내는 것은, 여러분이 그를 다시 보고, 기뻐하게 하려는 것이며, 나도 나의 근심을 덜려는 것입니다.	I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
29	그러므로 여러분은 주 안에서 기쁜 마음으로 그를 영접하십시오. 또 그와 같은 이들을 존경하십시오.	Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
30	그는 그리스도의 일로 거의 죽을 뻔하였고, 여러분이 나를 위해서 다 하지 못하는 봉사를 채우려고 목숨을 아끼지 않은 사람이기 때문입니다.	Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
