1	모세는 이스라엘 자손 각 지파 우두머리들에게 말하였다. "이것은 주께서 명하신 것이다.	And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded.
2	남자가 주께 서원하였거나 맹세하여 스스로를 자제하기로 서약하였으면, 그는 자기가 한 말을 어겨서는 안 된다. 그는 입으로 한 말을 다 지켜야 한다.	If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
3	여자가 아직 어린 나이에, 아버지의 집에 있으면서 주께 서원하였거나 스스로를 자제하기로 서약하였을 경우에는,	If a woman also vow a vow unto the Lord, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth;
4	그의 아버지가 자기 딸의 서원이나 딸이 스스로를 자제하기로 서약한 것을 듣고도 딸에게 아무 말도 하지 않았으면, 그 모든 서원은 그대로 살아 있다. 그가 한 서원과 스스로를 자제하기로 한 서약은 모두 그대로 성립된다.	And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
5	그러나 딸이 스스로를 자제하기로 한 모든 서약과 서원을 아버지가 듣고서 그 날로 말렸으면, 그것은 성립되지 않는다. 아버지가 딸의 서원을 말렸기 때문에, 주께서는 그 딸에게 책임을 묻지 않으신다.	But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the Lord shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
6	그러나 여자가 결혼한 다음에 서원하였거나, 급하게 입술을 놀려 스스로를 자제하기로 경솔하게 선언하였을 때에는,	And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
7	그의 남편이 그것을 듣고서 들은 그 날로 아내에게 아무 말도 하지 않았으면, 그 서원은 그대로 살아 있다. 그가 한 서원과 스스로를 자제하기로 한 그 서약이 그대로 성립된다.	And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
8	그러나 그의 남편이 그것을 들은 그 날로 아내를 말렸으면, 그의 아내가 스스로 한 서원과 자신을 자제하기로 입술로 경솔하게 선언한 것은 무효가 된다. 주께서는 그 여자에게 책임을 묻지 않으신다.	But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the Lord shall forgive her.
9	과부나 이혼당한 여자가 서원한 것, 곧 자신을 자제하기로 한 모든 서약은 그대로 그 여자에게 적용된다.	But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
10	남편의 집에서 같이 살면서 서원하거나, 자신을 자제하기로 맹세하고 서약하였을 때에는,	And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;
11	그의 남편이 그것을 듣고도 그 아내에게 아무 말도 하지 않았고, 아내를 말리지 않았으면, 그 모든 서원은 그대로 살아 있다. 그가 한 서원과 자신을 자제하기로 한 서약은 모두 그대로 성립된다.	And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
12	그러나 그의 남편이 듣는 그 날로 그것들을 파기하면, 그 아내의 입술에서 나온 서원과 서약은 아무것도 성립되지 않는다. 그의 남편이 이렇게 파기하면, 주께서는 그 여자에게 책임을 묻지 않으신다.	But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the Lord shall forgive her.
13	그의 남편은, 그의 아내가 한 어떤 서원이나 자신을 부인하고 자제하기로 한 어떤 서약의 맹세라도 성립시키거나 파기할 수 있다.	Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
14	그러나 만일 그의 남편이 아내의 서원에 대하여 하루가 지날 때까지 아무 말도 하지 않으면, 남편은 아내의 서원과 아내가 자신을 자제하기로 한 서약을 확인하는 것이 된다. 그것들은 그대로 효력을 지니게 된다. 들은 바로 그 날에 남편이 아내에게 아무 말도 하지 않았기 때문이다.	But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
15	그러나 만일 남편이 그가 들은 날로부터 얼마 지나서 그것들을 파기한다면, 아내의 죄는 남편이 떠맡게 된다."	But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
16	이것들은 주께서 모세에게 명하신 것으로서, 남편과 아내 사이에, 아버지와 아버지 집에 살고 있는 어린 딸 사이에 지켜야 할 율례이다.	These are the statutes, which the Lord commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.
