1	예수께서 시험을 받으시다(막 1:12-13; 눅 4:1-13) 그 즈음에 예수께서 성령에 이끌려, 광야로 가셔서, 악마에게 시험을 받으셨다.	Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2	예수께서 밤낮 사십 일을 금식하시니 시장하셨다.	And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3	그런데, 시험하는 자가 와서, 예수께 말하였다. "네가 하나님의 아들이거든, 이 돌들에게 빵이 되라고 말해 보아라."	And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4	예수께서 대답하셨다. "성경에 기록하기를 '사람이 빵으로만 살 것이 아니라, 하나님의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이다' 하였다."	But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5	그 때에 악마는 예수를 그 거룩한 도성으로 데리고 가서, 성전 꼭대기에 세우고	Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6	말하였다. "네가 하나님의 아들이거든, 여기에서 뛰어내려 보아라. 성경에 기록하기를 '하나님이 너를 위하여 자기 천사들에게 명하실 것이다.' '그들이 손으로 너를 떠받쳐, 너의 발이 돌에 부딪치지 않게 할 것이다' 하였다."	And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7	예수께서는 악마에게 말씀하셨다. "또 성경에 기록하기를 '주 너의 하나님을 시험하지 말아라' 하였다."	Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8	또다시 악마는 예수를 매우 높은 산으로 데리고 가서, 세상의 모든 나라와 그 영광을 보여 주며,	Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9	그에게 말하였다. "네가 나에게 엎드려서 절을 하면, 이 모든 것을 네게 주겠다."	And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10	그 때에 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "사탄아, 물러가라. 성경에 기록하기를 '주 너의 하나님께 경배하고, 그분만을 섬겨라' 하였다."	Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11	이 때에 악마는 떠나가고, 천사들이 와서, 예수의 시중을 들었다.	Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
12	예수께서 갈릴리에서 복음을 선포하기 시작하시다(막 1:14-15) 예수께서, 요한이 잡혔다고 하는 말을 듣고, 갈릴리로 물러가셨다.	Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13	그리고 나사렛을 떠나, 스불론과 납달리 지역 바닷가에 있는 가버나움으로 가서 사셨다.	And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14	이것은 예언자 이사야를 시켜서 하신 말씀을 이루시려는 것이었다.	That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15	"스불론과 납달리 땅, 요단 강 건너편, 바다로 가는 길목, 이방 사람들의 갈릴리,	The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16	어둠에 앉아 있는 백성이 큰 빛을 보았고, 그늘진 죽음의 땅에 앉은 사람들에게 빛이 비치었다."	The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17	그 때부터 예수께서는 "회개하여라. 하늘 나라가 가까이 왔다" 하고 선포하기 시작하셨다.	From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
18	어부들을 제자로 부르시다(막 1:16-20; 눅 5:1-11) 예수께서 갈릴리 바닷가를 걸어가시다가, 두 형제, 곧 베드로라는 시몬과 그 동생 안드레가 그물을 던지고 있는 것을 보셨다. 그들은 어부였다.	And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19	예수께서 그들에게 "나를 따라오너라. 내가 너희를 사람을 낚는 어부로 삼겠다" 하고 말씀하셨다.	And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20	그들은 곧 그물을 버리고 예수를 따라갔다.	And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21	거기에서 조금 더 가시다가, 예수께서 다른 두 형제, 곧 세베대의 아들 야고보와 그 동생 요한을 보셨다. 그들은 아버지 세베대와 함께 배에서 그물을 깁고 있었다. 예수께서 그들을 부르셨다.	And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22	그들은 곧 배와 자기들의 아버지를 버려 두고 예수를 따라갔다.	And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23	무리에게 복음을 전하시다 예수께서 온 갈릴리를 두루 다니시면서, 그들의 회당에서 가르치며, 하늘 나라의 복음을 선포하며, 백성 가운데 모든 질병과 모든 아픔을 고쳐 주셨다.	And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24	예수의 소문이 온 시리아에 퍼졌다. 그리하여 사람들이 갖가지 질병과 고통으로 앓는 모든 환자들과 귀신 들린 사람들과 간질병 환자들과 중풍병 환자들을 예수께로 데려왔다. 예수께서는 그들을 고쳐 주셨다.	And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25	그리하여 갈릴리와 데가볼리와 예루살렘과 유대와 요단 강 건너편으로부터, 많은 무리가 예수를 따라왔다.	And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan.
