1	아낌없는 구제 형제자매 여러분, 우리는 하나님께서 마케도니아 여러 교회에 베푸신 은혜를 여러분에게 알리려고 합니다.	Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
2	그들은 큰 환난의 시련을 겪으면서도 기쁨이 넘치고, 극심한 가난에 쪼들리면서도 넉넉한 마음으로 남에게 베풀었습니다.	How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
3	내가 증언합니다. 그들은, 힘이 닿는 대로 구제하였을 뿐만 아니라, 오히려 힘에 지나도록 자원해서 하였습니다.	For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
4	그들은, 성도들을 구제하는 특전에 동참하게 해 달라고, 우리에게 간절히 청하였습니다.	Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
5	그들은, 우리가 기대한 이상으로, 먼저 자기를 주님께 드리고, 하나님의 뜻을 따라 우리에게 바쳤습니다.	And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
6	그래서 우리는, 디도가 이미 여러분 가운데서 시작한 이 은혜로운 일을 완수하라고 그에게 권하였습니다.	Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
7	여러분은 모든 일에 뛰어납니다. 곧 믿음에서, 말솜씨에서, 지식에서, 열성에서, 우리와 여러분 사이의 사랑에서 그러합니다. 그것은 여러분이 이 은혜로운 활동에서도 뛰어나게 하려는 것입니다.	Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
8	나는 이 말을 명령으로 하는 것이 아닙니다. 다른 사람들의 열성을 말함으로써, 여러분의 사랑도 진실하다는 것을 확인하려고 하는 것뿐입니다.	I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
9	여러분은 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜를 알고 있습니다. 그리스도께서는 부요하나, 여러분을 위해서 가난하게 되셨습니다. 그것은 그분의 가난하심으로 여러분을 부요하게 하시려는 것입니다.	For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
10	이 일에 내 의견을 말씀드리겠습니다. 여러분은, 지난해부터 먼저 실행하기 시작하였을 뿐만 아니라 자원하여 한 그 일을, 끝마치는 것이 여러분에게 유익합니다.	And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.
11	그러므로 이제는 그 일을 완성하십시오. 여러분이, 자원하여 시작할 때에 보인 그 열성에 어울리게, 여러분이 가지고 있는 것으로 그 일을 마무리지어야 합니다.	Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
12	기쁜 마음으로 자기의 형편에 맞게 바치면, 하나님께서는 그것을 기쁘게 받으실 것입니다. 하나님께서는 없는 것까지 바치는 것을 바라지 않으십니다.	For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
13	나는, 다른 사람들을 편안하게 하고, 그 대신에 여러분을 괴롭게 하려는 것이 아니라, 평형을 이루려 합니다.	For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
14	지금 여러분의 넉넉한 살림이 그들의 궁핍을 채워 주면, 그들의 살림이 넉넉해질 때에는, 그들이 여러분의 궁핍을 채워 줄 수도 있을 것입니다. 그리하여 평형을 이루는 것입니다.	But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
15	이것은 성경에 기록하기를 "많이 거둔 사람도 남지 않고, 적게 거둔 사람도 모자라지 않았다" 한 것과 같습니다.	As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
16	디도와 그의 동역자 내가 여러분에게 쏟는 것과 같은 열성을 디도의 마음에 주신 하나님께 감사합니다.	But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.
17	그는 우리의 요청을 받아들였을 뿐만 아니라, 더욱 열심을 내서, 자진하여 여러분에게로 갔습니다.	For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.
18	우리는 그와 함께 형제 한 사람을 보냈습니다. 이 형제는 복음을 전하는 일로 모든 교회로부터 칭찬을 받는 사람입니다.	And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;
19	그뿐만 아니라, 그는 여러 교회가 우리의 여행 동반자로 뽑아 세운 사람으로서, 우리가 수행하고 있는 이 은혜로운 일을 돕는 사람입니다. 우리는 주님의 영광을 드러내고, 우리의 좋은 뜻을 이루려고, 이 일을 합니다.	And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:
20	우리가 맡아서 봉사하고 있는 이 많은 헌금을 두고, 아무도 우리를 비난하지 못하게 하려고 우리는 조심합니다.	Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:
21	우리는, 주님 앞에서 뿐만 아니라, 사람들 앞에서도, 좋은 일을 바르게 하려고 합니다.	Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
22	우리는 그들과 함께 형제를 또 한 사람 보냈습니다. 우리는, 그가 모든 일에 열성이 있음을 여러 번 확인하였습니다. 지금 그는 여러분에게 큰 신뢰를 가지고 있으므로, 더욱더 열심을 내고 있을 것입니다.	And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.
23	디도로 말하면, 그는 내 동료요, 여러분을 위한 내 동역자입니다. 그리고 그와 같이 간 우리의 형제들로 말하면, 그들은 여러 교회의 심부름꾼들이요, 그리스도의 영광입니다.	Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.
24	그러므로 여러분은 그들에게 여러분의 사랑을 보여 주십시오. 그러면 그들을 파견한 교회들이 그것을 보고서, 우리가 그들에게 여러분을 자랑한 것이 참된 것이었음을 확인할 것입니다.	Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
