1	그러므로 나는 여러분에게 또다시 아픔을 주지 않아야 하겠기에, 여러분에게로 가지 않기로 결심하였습니다.	But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
2	나를 기쁘게 해 줄 사람은 여러분밖에 없습니다. 그런데 내가 여러분을 마음 아프게 한다면, 나를 기쁘게 해 줄 사람들에게 슬픔을 안겨주는 셈이 되지 않겠습니까?	For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
3	내가 이런 편지를 쓴 뜻은, 내가 그리로 가게 될 때에, 나를 기쁘게 해야 할 바로 그 사람들에게서, 내가 마음 아픈 일을 당하는 일이 없게 하려는 것입니다. 내 기쁨이 여러분 모두의 기쁨임을, 나는, 여러분 모두를 두고 확신하였습니다.	And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
4	나는 몹시 괴로워하면서, 걱정스러운 마음으로, 많은 눈물을 흘리면서 여러분에게 그 편지를 썼습니다. 그러나 그것은 여러분을 마음 아프게 하려고 한 것이 아니라, 내가 여러분을 얼마나 극진히 사랑하고 있는지를 여러분에게 알려 주려고 한 것입니다.	For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
5	잘못한 사람을 용서하라 누가 나를 마음 아프게 한 일이 있으면, 실은 나를 마음 아프게 한 것이 아니라, 과장하지 않고 말하면, 어느 정도는 여러분 모두를 마음 아프게 한 것입니다.	But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
6	여러분 대다수는 그러한 사람에게 이미 충분한 벌을 내렸습니다.	Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
7	그러므로 여러분은 도리어 그를 용서해 주고 위로해 주어야 합니다. 그 사람이 지나친 슬픔에 짓눌리는 일이 없게 해야 합니다.	So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
8	그러므로 나는, 여러분이 그에게 사랑을 나타내 보이기를 권합니다.	Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
9	내가 그 편지를 쓴 것은, 여러분이 모든 일에 순종하는가를 시험하여 알아보려는 것이었습니다.	For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
10	여러분이 누구를 용서하면, 나도 용서합니다. 내가 용서한 경우가 있으면, 내가 용서한 것은, 그리스도 앞에서 여러분을 위하여 한 것입니다.	To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
11	그것은, 우리가 사탄에게 이용당하지 않게 하려는 것입니다. 우리는 사탄의 책략을 알고 있습니다.	Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
12	그리스도의 향기 내가 그리스도의 복음을 전하려고 드로아에 갔을 때에, 주께서 내게 거기에서 일할 수 있는 길을 열어 주셨습니다.	Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
13	그러나 나는 내 형제 디도를 만나지 못했으므로, 마음이 편하지 않아서, 그들과 작별하고 마케도니아로 갔습니다.	I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.
14	그러나 그리스도의 개선 행렬에 언제나 우리를 참가시키시고, 어디에서나 우리로 그리스도를 알리는 지식의 향기를 풍기게 하시는 하나님께 감사를 드립니다.	Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
15	우리는 구원을 얻는 사람들에게나, 멸망을 당하는 사람들에게나, 하나님 앞에서 그리스도의 향기입니다.	For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16	그러나 멸망을 당하는 사람에게는, 죽음에 이르게 하는 죽음의 냄새가 되고, 구원을 얻는 사람에게는, 생명에 이르게 하는 생명의 향기가 됩니다. 이런 일을 누가 감당할 수 있겠습니까?	To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
17	많은 사람들은 하나님의 말씀을 팔아서 먹고 사는 장사꾼이 되었습니다마는 우리는 그렇지 않습니다. 우리는, 하나님께서 보내신 사람답게, 진실한 마음으로, 하나님께서 보시는 앞에서, 그리스도 안에서 말합니다.	For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
