1	인사와 감사 하나님의 뜻을 따라 그리스도 예수의 사도로 부르심을 받은 나 바울과 형제 소스데네는,	Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2	고린도에 있는 하나님의 교회에 이 편지를 씁니다. 우리는, 그리스도 예수 안에서 거룩해지고 성도로 부르심을 받은 여러분에게, 또 각처에서 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 모든 이들에게 문안드립니다. 예수 그리스도께서는 이러한 모든 사람의 주님이시요, 또 우리의 주님이십니다.	Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
3	하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도께서 내려 주시는 은혜와 평화가 여러분에게 임하기를 빕니다.	Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4	나는 그리스도 예수 안에서 여러분이 받은 하나님의 은혜를 생각하고, 여러분을 두고 언제나 나의 하나님께 감사를 드립니다.	I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5	여러분은 그리스도 안에서 살면서, 모든 면에서 곧 온갖 언변과 온갖 지식에 풍족하게 되었습니다.	That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6	그리스도에 관하여 증언한 것이 여러분 가운데 이렇게도 튼튼하게 자리잡았습니다.	Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7	그러므로 여러분은 어떠한 은혜의 선물에도 부족함이 없이, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 나타나심을 기다리고 있습니다.	So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8	예수께서도 여러분을 끝까지 굳게 세워 주셔서, 우리 주 예수 그리스도가 나타나실 날에, 책망할 것이 없는 사람으로 설 수 있게 하실 것입니다.	Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9	여러분을 부르셔서 그의 아들 우리 주 예수 그리스도와의 친교를 가지게 해주신 하나님은 신실하십니다.	God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10	고린도 교회의 분열상 그런데 형제자매 여러분, 나는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 여러분에게 권합니다. 여러분은 모두 일치되는 말을 하며, 여러분 가운데서 분열을 일으키지 말며, 같은 마음과 같은 생각으로 뭉치십시오.	Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11	나의 형제자매 여러분, 나는 여러분 가운데 분쟁이 있다는 것을 글로에의 집 사람들의 편에 알게 되었습니다.	For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12	다름이 아니라, 여러분이 저마다 말하기를 "나는 바울 파다" "나는 아볼로 파다" "나는 게바 파다" "나는 그리스도 파다" 한다고 합니다.	Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13	그리스도께서 갈라지셨습니까? 바울이 여러분을 위해 십자가에 달리기라도 했습니까? 또는 여러분이 바울의 이름으로 세례를 받았습니까?	Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14	내가 여러분 가운데 그리스보와 가이오 말고는, 아무에게도 세례를 준 일이 없음을 감사합니다.	I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15	그러므로 아무도 나의 이름으로 세례를 받았다고 말하지 못할 것입니다.	Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16	(내가 스데바나 가족에게도 세례를 주었습니다마는, 그 밖에는 다른 누구에게 세례를 주었는지는 모릅니다.)	And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17	그리스도께서는 세례를 주라고 나를 보내신 것이 아니라, 복음을 전하라고 보내셨습니다. 복음을 전하되, 말의 지혜로 하지 않게 하셨으니, 이것은 그리스도의 십자가가 헛되게 되지 않게 하시려는 것입니다.	For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18	하나님의 능력과 지혜이신 그리스도 십자가의 말씀이 멸망하는 자들에게는 어리석은 것이지만, 구원을 받는 사람인 우리에게는 하나님의 능력입니다.	For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19	성경에 기록하기를 "내가 지혜로운 자들의 지혜를 멸하고, 총명한 자들의 총명을 폐할 것이다" 하였습니다.	For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20	지혜 있는 사람이 어디에 있습니까? 학자가 어디에 있습니까? 이 세상의 변론가가 어디에 있습니까? 하나님께서는 이 세상의 지혜를 어리석게 하신 것이 아닙니까?	Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21	이 세상이 그 지혜로 하나님을 알지 못한 것은, 하나님의 지혜 안에서 된 일입니다. 그래서 하나님께서는 우리의 어리석은 선포로 믿는 사람들을 구원하시기를 기뻐하셨습니다.	For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22	유대 사람은 표적을 구하고, 그리스 사람은 지혜를 찾으나,	For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23	우리는 그리스도를 전하되, 십자가에 달리신 분으로 전합니다. 이것은 유대 사람에게는 거리낌이고, 이방 사람에게는 어리석음이지만,	But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24	부르심을 받은 사람에게는, 유대 사람에게나 그리스 사람에게나, 그리스도는 하나님의 능력이요, 하나님의 지혜입니다.	But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25	하나님의 어리석음이 사람의 지혜보다 더 지혜롭고, 하나님의 약함이 사람의 강함보다 더 강하기 때문입니다.	Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26	형제자매 여러분, 여러분이 부르심을 받을 때에, 그 처지가 어떠하였는지 생각하여 보십시오. 육신의 기준으로 보아, 지혜 있는 사람이 많지 않고, 권력 있는 사람이 많지 않고, 가문이 훌륭한 사람이 많지 않았습니다.	For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27	그런데 하나님께서는 지혜 있는 자들을 부끄럽게 하시려고 세상의 어리석은 것을 택하셨으며, 강한 자들을 부끄럽게 하시려고 세상의 약한 것을 택하셨습니다.	But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28	하나님께서는 세상에서 비천한 것과 멸시받는 것을 택하셨으니, 곧 잘났다고 하는 것들을 없애시려고, 아무것도 아닌 것들을 택하셨습니다.	And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29	그것은, 아무도 하나님 앞에서는 자랑하지 못하게 하시려는 것입니다.	That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30	그러나 여러분은 하나님께로부터 나서 그리스도 예수 안에 있습니다. 그는 우리에게 하나님으로부터 오는 지혜가 되시고, 의롭게 하여 주심과 거룩하게 하여 주심과 구속하여 주심이 되셨습니다.	But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31	그것은, 성경에 기록한 대로, 누구든지 자랑하는 자는 주 안에서 자랑하게 하시려는 것입니다.	That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
