절	새번역 (2001)	King James Version
1	요시야의 아들 여호야김이 유다 왕이었을 때에, 주님께서 예레미야에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.	The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2	“너는 레갑 사람들을 찾아가서 그들에게 말하고, 그들을 주의 성전으로 데려다가, 어느 한 방으로 안내하여, 그들에게 포도주를 마시게 하여 보아라.”	Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3	그래서 내가, 하바시냐의 손자요 예레미야라고 하는 사람의 아들인 야아사냐와 그의 형제들과 모든 아들과 레갑 가문을 모두 데려왔다.	Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4	나는 그들을 주님의 성전으로 안내하여, 익다랴의 아들로서 하나님의 사람인 하난의 아들들이 쓰는 방으로 들어가게 하였다. 그 방은 고관들의 방 곁에 붙어 있고, 살룸의 아들, 문지기 마아세야의 방 위에 있었다.	And I brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
5	거기에서 내가 레갑 가문 사람들에게 포도주가 가득 찬 단지와 잔들을 내놓고 “포도주를 드시지요” 하며, 그들에게 권하였다.	And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
6	그러나 그들은 이렇게 대답하였다. “우리는 포도주를 마시지 않습니다. 우리의 조상 레갑의 아들 요나답께서 우리에게 분부하셨습니다. ‘너희는 포도주를 마시지 말아라. 너희뿐만 아니라 너희 자손도 절대로 마셔서는 안 된다.	But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
7	너희는 집도 짓지 말고, 곡식의 씨도 뿌리지 말고, 포도나무도 심지 말고, 포도원도 소유하지 말아라. 너희는 언제까지나 장막에서만 살아라. 그래야 너희가 나그네로 사는 그 땅에서 오래오래 살 것이다.’	Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
8	그래서 우리는 우리의 조상 레갑의 아들 요나답께서 우리에게 명령하신 모든 말씀에 순종하여, 우리와 우리 아내와 우리 아들과 딸이 일평생 포도주를 마시지 않았습니다.	Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
9	우리는 거처할 집도 짓지 않고, 포도원이나 농토나 곡식의 씨도 소유하지 않았습니다.	Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
10	우리는 오직 우리의 조상 요나답께서 우리에게 명령하신 모든 말씀에 순종하여, 그대로 실천하면서, 장막에서 살았습니다.	But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11	그런데 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살이 이 나라에 쳐들어왔을 때에, 우리는 바빌로니아 군대와 시리아 군대를 피하여 예루살렘으로 들어가야 하겠다고 결정하였습니다. 그래서 우리가 지금 예루살렘에 살고 있는 것입니다.”	But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
12	그 때에 주님께서 예레미야에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.	Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
13	“나 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 너는 유다 사람과 예루살렘의 주민에게 나가서, 이렇게 말하여라. ‘너희는 교훈을 받아들일 수도 없고, 나의 말에 순종할 수도 없느냐? 나 주의 말이다.	Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.
14	레갑의 아들 요나답이 자손에게, 포도주를 마시지 말라고 명령한 것이 이렇게 엄수되고 있다. 그 자손은 조상이 내린 명령에 순종해서, 이 날까지 전혀 포도주를 마시지 않는다. 그러나 너희들은, 내가 직접 말하고, 또 거듭하여 말했으나, 내 말을 듣지 않았다.	The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
15	나는 내 종 예언자들을 모두 너희에게 보내고, 또 거듭하여 보내면서 권고하였다. 각자 자신의 악한 길에서 돌아서고, 행실을 고치고, 다른 신들을 섬기려고 쫓아다니지 말라고 하였고, 그래야만 내가 너희와 너희 조상에게 준 땅에서, 너희가 살게 될 것이라고 하였다. 그러나 너희는 나에게 귀를 기울이지도 않았고, 나의 말을 듣지도 않았다.	I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
16	레갑의 아들 요나답의 자손은 조상이 자기들에게 명령한 분부를 그렇게 엄수하는데, 이 백성은 나의 말을 듣지 않았다.	Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
17	그러므로 만군의 하나님이요 이스라엘의 하나님인 나 주가 말한다. 내가 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 주민에게 예고한 모든 재앙을 그대로 내리겠다. 내가 그들에게 말을 해도 그들이 듣지 않고, 내가 그들을 불러도 그들이 대답하지 않았기 때문이다.”	Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
18	그런 다음에, 예레미야가 레갑 사람들에게 이렇게 말하였다. “나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 너희는 조상 요나답의 명령에 순종하고, 그의 모든 교훈을 엄수하고, 그가 너희에게 명령한 모든 것을 그대로 실천하였다.	And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
19	그러므로 나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 레갑의 아들 요나답의 자손 가운데서 나를 섬길 사람이 영원히 끊어지지 않을 것이다.”	Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
