절	새번역 (2001)	King James Version
1	이스라엘과의 충돌 아사 왕 삼십육년에 이스라엘 왕 바아사가, 유다를 치러 올라와서, 라마를 건축하고, 어느 누구도 유다의 아사 왕에게 왕래하지 못하게 하였다.	In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2	그러자 아사는 주님의 성전 창고와 왕실 창고의 모든 은과 금을 모아서, 다마스쿠스에 있는 시리아의 벤하닷 왕에게 보내며 말하였다.	Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the Lord and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben–hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3	“나의 아버지와 그대의 아버지가 서로 동맹을 맺었듯이, 나와 그대도 서로 동맹을 맺도록 합시다. 여기 그대에게 은과 금을 보냅니다. 부디 오셔서 이스라엘의 바아사 왕과 맺은 동맹을 파기하시고, 그가 여기에서 떠나게 하여 주십시오.”	There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
4	벤하닷은 아사 왕의 청을 받아들여, 자기의 군사령관들을 보내서, 이욘과 단과 아벨마임과 납달리의 양곡 저장 성읍을 치게 하였다.	And Ben–hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel–maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5	바아사가 이 소문을 듣고는, 라마 건축을 멈추고, 그 공사를 포기하였다.	And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
6	그러자 아사 왕은 온 유다 백성을 불러서, 바아사가 라마를 건축할 때에 쓰던 돌과 목재를 가져 오게 하였다. 아사 왕은 이것으로 게바와 미스바를 보수하였다.	Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7	선견자 하나니 그 무렵 하나니 선견자가 유다의 아사 왕에게 와서 말하였다. “임금님께서 시리아 왕을 의지하시고, 주 임금님의 하나님을 의지하지 않으셨으므로, 이제 시리아 왕의 군대는 임금님의 손에서 벗어나 버렸습니다.	And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the Lord thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
8	에티오피아 군과 리비아 군이 강한 군대가 아니었습니까? 병거도 군마도 헤아릴 수 없이 많지 않았습니까? 그러나 임금님께서 주님을 의지하시니까, 주님께서 그들을 임금님의 손에 붙이지 않으셨습니까?	Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the Lord, he delivered them into thine hand.
9	주님께서는 그 눈으로 온 땅을 두루 살피셔서, 전심전력으로 주님께 매달리는 이들을 힘있게 해주십니다. 이번 일에, 임금님께서는 어리석게 행동하셨습니다. 이제부터 임금님께서는 전쟁에 휘말리실 것입니다.”	For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
10	아사는 선견자의 이 말에 화를 참을 수가 없어서, 그를 감옥에 가두어 버렸다. 그 만큼 화가 치밀어 올랐던 것이다. 그 때에 아사는 백성들 가운데서도 얼마를 학대하였다. ()	Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
11	아사의 통치가 끝나다 아사의 행적은 처음부터 끝까지 ‘유다와 이스라엘 열왕기’에 기록되어 있다.	And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12	아사가 왕이 된 지 삼십구 년이 되던 해에, 발에 병이 나서 위독하게 되었다. 그렇게 아플 때에도 그는 주님을 찾지 아니하고, 의사들을 찾았다.	And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.
13	아사가 죽어서 그의 조상과 함께 잠드니, 그가 왕이 된 지 사십일 년이 되던 해였다.	And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
14	사람들은 그를 ‘다윗 성’에 장사하였다. 그 무덤은 아사가 미리 파 둔 곳이다. 사람들은 향 제조법 대로 만든 온갖 향을 가득 쌓은 침상에 그를 눕혀서 장사하고, 그의 죽음을 애도하려고 큰 불을 밝혔다.	And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.
