1	돌에 새긴 율법 모세는 이스라엘 장로들과 함께, 백성에게 명령하였다. “오늘 내가 당신들에게 하는 모든 명령을, 당신들은 지켜야 합니다.	And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.
2	당신들이 요단 강을 건너가서, 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 주시는 땅에 들어가는 날이 오거든, 큰 돌들을 세우고 석회를 바르십시오.	And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:
3	주 당신들 조상의 하나님이 말씀하신 대로, 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 주시는 땅 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에 들어가면, 이 모든 율법의 말씀을 그 돌들 위에 기록하십시오.	And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
4	당신들이 요단 강을 건너거든, 내가 오늘 당신들에게 명한 대로, 이 돌들을 에발 산에 세우고, 그 위에 석회를 바르십시오.	Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.
5	또 거기에서 주 당신들의 하나님께 드리는 제단을 만들되, 쇠 연장으로 다듬지 않은 자연석으로 제단을 만드십시오.	And there shalt thou build an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6	당신들은 다듬지 않은 자연석으로 주 당신들의 하나님의 제단을 만들고, 그 위에 번제물을 올려 주 당신들의 하나님께 드려야 합니다.	Thou shalt build the altar of the Lord thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord thy God:
7	또 화목제를 드리고 거기에서 먹으며, 주 당신들의 하나님 앞에서 즐거워하십시오.	And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.
8	당신들은 이 돌들 위에 이 모든 율법의 말씀을 분명하게 기록하십시오.”	And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
9	모세와 레위 사람 제사장들이 온 이스라엘 백성에게 선포하였다. “이스라엘 자손 여러분, 우리가 하는 말에 귀를 기울이십시오. 오늘 당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님의 백성이 되었습니다.	And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God.
10	그러므로 당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님께 순종하고, 오늘 우리가 당신들에게 명한 그의 명령과 규례를 지키십시오.”	Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
11	에발 산에서 선포한 저주 그 때에 모세가 백성에게 명령하였다.	And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
12	“당신들이 요단 강을 건넌 뒤에, 백성에게 축복을 선포하려고 그리심 산에 설 지파들은 시므온과 레위와 유다와 잇사갈과 요셉과 베냐민 지파입니다.	These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:
13	그리고 저주를 선포하려고 에발 산에 설 지파들은 르우벤과 갓과 아셀과 스불론과 단과 납달리 지파입니다.	And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14	그리고 레위 사람들은 큰소리로 온 이스라엘 모든 백성에게 다음과 같이 외치십시오.	And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15	‘대장장이를 시켜서, 주님께서 역겨워하시는 우상을 새기거나 부어 만들어서, 그것을 은밀한 곳에 숨겨 놓는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하고 응답하십시오.	Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
16	‘아버지와 어머니를 업신여기는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
17	‘이웃의 땅 경계석을 옮기는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.
18	‘눈이 먼 사람에게 길을 잘못 인도하는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.
19	‘외국 사람과 고아와 과부의 재판을 공정하게 하지 않는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
20	‘아버지의 아내와 동침하는 것은 그 아버지의 침상을 모독하는 것이니, 그런 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.
21	‘짐승과 교접하는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.
22	‘자매, 곧 아버지의 딸이나 어머니의 딸과 동침하는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
23	‘장모와 동침하는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.
24	‘이웃을 암살하는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.
25	‘뇌물을 받고 죄 없는 사람을 죽이는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.	Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.
26	‘이 율법 가운데 하나라도 실행하지 않는 자는 저주를 받는다’ 하면, 모든 백성은 ‘아멘’ 하십시오.”	Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
