1	예수를 죽일 음모 예수께서 이 모든 말씀을 마치셨을 때에, 자기 제자들에게 말씀하셨다.	And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2	“너희가 아는 대로, 이틀이 지나면 유월절인데, 인자가 넘겨져서 십자가에 달릴 것이다.”	Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3	그 즈음에 대제사장들과 백성의 장로들이 가야바라는 대제사장의 관저에 모여서,	Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4	예수를 속임수로 잡아서 죽이려고 모의하였다.	And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
5	그러나 그들은 “백성 가운데서 소동이 일어날지도 모르니, 명절에는 하지 맙시다” 하고 말하였다. (; )	But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
6	어떤 여자가 예수의 머리에 향유를 붓다 그런데 예수께서 베다니에서 나병환자 시몬의 집에 계실 때에,	Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7	한 여자가 매우 값진 향유 한 옥합을 가지고 와서는, 음식을 잡수시고 계시는 예수의 머리에 부었다.	There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8	그런데 제자들이 이것을 보고 분개하여 말하였다. “왜 이렇게 낭비하는 거요?	But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9	이 향유를 비싼 값에 팔아서, 가난한 사람들에게 줄 수 있었을 텐데요!”	For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10	예수께서 이것을 보시고 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “왜 이 여자를 괴롭히느냐? 그는 내게 아름다운 일을 하였다.	When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11	가난한 사람들은 늘 너희와 함께 있지만, 나는 늘 너희와 함께 있는 것이 아니다.	For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12	이 여자가 내 몸에 향유를 부은 것은, 내 장례를 치르려고 한 것이다.	For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13	내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 온 세상 어디서든지, 이 복음이 전파되는 곳에서는, 이 여자가 한 일도 전해져서, 그를 기억하게 될 것이다.” (; )	Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
14	유다가 예수를 넘겨주기로 합의하다 그 때에 열두 제자 가운데 하나인 가룟 사람 유다라는 자가, 대제사장들에게 가서,	Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15	이렇게 말하였다. “내가 예수를 여러분에게 넘겨주면, 여러분은 내게 무엇을 주실 작정입니까?” 그들은 유다에게 은돈 서른 닢을 셈하여 주었다.	And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16	그 때부터 유다는 예수를 넘겨주려고 기회를 노리고 있었다. (; , ; )	And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17	유월절 음식을 나누시다 무교절 첫째 날에 제자들이 예수께 다가와서 말하였다. “우리가, 선생님께서 유월절 음식을 잡수시게 준비하려고 하는데, 어디에다 하기를 바라십니까?”	Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18	예수께서 말씀하셨다. “성 안으로 아무를 찾아가서, ‘선생님께서 말씀하시기를, 내 때가 가까워졌으니, 내가 그대의 집에서 제자들과 함께 유월절을 지키겠다고 하십니다’ 하고 그에게 말하여라.”	And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19	그래서 제자들은, 예수께서 그들에게 분부하신 대로 하여, 유월절을 준비하였다.	And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
20	저녁 때가 되어서, 예수께서는 열두 제자와 함께 식탁에 앉아 계셨다.	Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
21	그들이 먹고 있을 때에, 예수께서 말씀하셨다. “내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 너희 가운데 한 사람이 나를 넘겨줄 것이다.”	And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22	그들은 몹시 걱정이 되어, 저마다 “주님, 나는 아니지요?” 하고 말하기 시작하였다.	And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
23	예수께서 대답하셨다. “나와 함께 이 대접에 손을 담근 사람이, 나를 넘겨줄 것이다.	And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24	인자는 자기에 관하여 성경에 기록되어 있는 대로 떠나가지만, 인자를 넘겨주는 그 사람은 화가 있다. 그 사람은 차라리 태어나지 않았더라면, 자기에게 좋았을 것이다.”	The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25	예수를 넘겨 줄 사람인 유다가 말하기를 “선생님, 나는 아니지요?” 하니, 예수께서 그에게 “네가 말하였다” 하고 대답하셨다. (; ; )	Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26	마지막 만찬 그들이 먹고 있을 때에, 예수께서 빵을 들어서 축복하신 다음에, 떼어서 제자들에게 주시고 말씀하셨다. “받아서 먹어라. 이것은 내 몸이다.”	And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27	또 잔을 들어서 감사 기도를 드리신 다음에, 그들에게 주시고 말씀하셨다. “모두 돌려가며 이 잔을 마셔라.	And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28	이것은 죄를 사하여 주려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 나의 피, 곧 언약의 피다.	For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29	내가 너희에게 말한다. 이제부터 내가 나의 아버지의 나라에서 너희와 함께 새 것을 마실 그 날까지, 나는 포도나무 열매로 빚은 것을 절대로 마시지 않을 것이다.”	But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
30	그들은 찬송을 부르고, 올리브 산으로 갔다. (; ; )	And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
31	베드로가 부인할 것을 예고하시다 그 때에 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “오늘 밤에 너희는 모두 나를 버릴 것이다. 성경에 기록하기를 ‘내가 목자를 칠 것이니, 양 떼가 흩어질 것이다’ 하였다.	Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
32	그러나 내가 살아난 뒤에, 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 갈 것이다.”	But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33	베드로가 예수께 말하였다. “비록 모든 사람이 다 주님을 버릴지라도, 나는 절대로 버리지 않겠습니다.”	Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
34	예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 진정으로 네게 말한다. 오늘 밤에 닭이 울기 전에, 네가 세 번 나를 모른다고 할 것이다.”	Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35	베드로가 예수께 말하였다. “주님과 함께 죽는 한이 있을지라도, 절대로 주님을 모른다고 하지 않겠습니다.” 그리고 다른 제자들도 모두 그렇게 말하였다. (; )	Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
36	겟세마네에서 기도하시다 그 때에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 겟세마네라고 하는 곳에 가서, 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 저기 가서 기도하는 동안에, 너희는 여기에 앉아 있어라.”	Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37	그리고 베드로와 세베대의 두 아들을 데리고 가서, 근심하며 괴로워하기 시작하셨다.	And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38	그 때에 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “내 마음이 괴로워 죽을 지경이다. 너희는 여기에 머무르며 나와 함께 깨어 있어라.”	Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39	예수께서는 조금 더 나아가서, 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려서 기도하셨다. “나의 아버지, 하실 수만 있으시면, 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 해주십시오. 그러나 내 뜻대로 하지 마시고, 아버지의 뜻대로 해주십시오.”	And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40	그리고 제자들에게 와서 보시니, 그들은 자고 있었다. 그래서 베드로에게 말씀하셨다. “이렇게 너희는 한 시간도 나와 함께 깨어 있을 수 없느냐?	And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41	시험에 빠지지 않도록, 깨어서 기도하여라. 마음은 원하지만, 육신이 약하구나!”	Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42	예수께서 다시 두 번째로 가서, 기도하셨다. “나의 아버지, 내가 마시지 않고서는 이 잔이 내게서 지나갈 수 없는 것이면, 아버지의 뜻대로 해주십시오.”	He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43	예수께서 다시 와서 보시니, 그들은 자고 있었다. 그들은 너무 졸려서 눈을 뜰 수 없었던 것이다.	And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44	예수께서는 그들을 그대로 두고 다시 가서, 또 다시 같은 말씀으로 세 번째로 기도하셨다.	And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45	그리고 제자들에게 와서, 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “이제 남은 시간은 자고 쉬어라. 보아라, 때가 이르렀다. 인자가 죄인들의 손에 넘어간다.	Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46	일어나서 가자. 보아라, 나를 넘겨줄 자가 가까이 왔다.” (; ; )	Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47	예수께서 잡히시다 예수께서 아직 말씀하고 계실 때에, 열두 제자 가운데 하나인 유다가 왔다. 대제사장들과 백성의 장로들이 보낸 무리가 칼과 몽둥이를 들고 그와 함께 하였다.	And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48	그런데 예수를 넘겨줄 자가 그들에게 암호를 정하여 주기를 “내가 입을 맞추는 사람이 바로 그 사람이니, 그를 잡으시오” 하고 말해 놓았다.	Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49	유다가 곧바로 예수께 다가가서 “안녕하십니까? 선생님!” 하고 말하고, 그에게 입을 맞추었다.	And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50	예수께서 그에게 “친구여, 무엇 하러 여기에 왔느냐?” 하고 말씀하시니, 그들이 다가와서, 예수께 손을 대어 붙잡았다.	And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
51	그 때에 예수와 함께 있던 사람들 가운데 한 사람이 손을 뻗쳐 자기 칼을 빼어, 대제사장의 종을 내리쳐서, 그 귀를 잘랐다.	And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.
52	그 때에 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “네 칼을 칼집에 도로 꽂아라. 칼을 쓰는 사람은 모두 칼로 망한다.	Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53	너희는, 내가 나의 아버지께, 당장에 열두 군단 이상의 천사들을 내 곁에 세워 주시기를 청할 수 있다고 생각하지 않느냐?	Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54	그러나 그렇게 되면, 이런 일이 반드시 일어나야 한다고 한 성경 말씀이 어떻게 이루어지겠느냐?”	But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55	그 때에 예수께서 무리에게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 강도에게 하듯이, 칼과 몽둥이를 들고 나를 잡으러 왔느냐? 내가 날마다 성전에 앉아서 가르치고 있었건만, 너희는 내게 손을 대지 않았다.	In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
56	그러나 이 모든 일을 이렇게 되게 하신 것은, 예언자들의 글을 이루려고 하신 것이다.” 그 때에 제자들은 모두, 예수를 버리고 달아났다. (; , ; , )	But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57	의회 앞에 서시다 예수를 잡은 사람들은 그를 대제사장 가야바에게로 끌고 갔다. 거기에는 율법학자들과 장로들이 모여 있었다.	And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58	그런데 베드로는 멀찍이 떨어져서 예수를 뒤따라 대제사장의 집 안마당에까지 갔다. 그는 결말을 보려고 안으로 들어가서, 하인들 틈에 끼여 앉았다.	But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
59	대제사장들과 온 공의회가 예수를 사형에 처하려고, 그분을 고발할 거짓 증거를 찾고 있었다.	Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60	많은 사람이 나서서 거짓 증언을 하였으나, 쓸 만한 증거는 얻지 못하였다. 그런데 마침내 두 사람이 나서서	But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61	말하였다. “이 사람이 하나님의 성전을 허물고, 사흘 만에 세울 수 있다고 하였습니다.”	And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62	그러자, 대제사장이 일어서서, 예수께 말하였다. “이 사람들이 그대에게 불리하게 증언하는데도, 아무 답변도 하지 않소?”	And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
63	그러나 예수께서는 잠자코 계셨다. 그래서 대제사장이 예수께 말하였다. “내가 살아 계신 하나님을 걸고 그대에게 명령하니, 우리에게 말해 주시오. 그대가 하나님의 아들 그리스도요?”	But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64	예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “당신이 말하였소. 그러나 내가 당신들에게 다시 말하오. 이제로부터 당신들은, 인자가 권능의 보좌 오른쪽에 앉아 있는 것과, 하늘 구름을 타고 오는 것을, 보게 될 것이오.”	Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65	그 때에 대제사장은 자기 옷을 찢고, 큰 소리로 말하였다. “그가 하나님을 모독하였소. 이제 우리에게 이 이상 증인이 무슨 필요가 있겠소? 보시오, 여러분은 방금 하나님을 모독하는 말을 들었소.	Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66	여러분의 생각은 어떠하오?” 그러자 그들이 대답하였다. “그는 사형을 받아야 합니다.”	What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67	그 때에 그들은 예수의 얼굴에 침을 뱉고, 그를 주먹으로 치고, 또 더러는 손바닥으로 때리기도 하며,	Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
68	말하였다. “그리스도야, 너를 때린 사람이 누구인지 알아맞추어 보아라.” (; ; , )	Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
69	베드로가 예수를 모른다고 하다 베드로가 안뜰 바깥쪽에 앉아 있었는데, 한 하녀가 그에게 다가와서 말하였다. “당신도 저 갈릴리 사람 예수와 함께 다닌 사람이네요.”	Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
70	베드로는 여러 사람 앞에서 부인하였다. “나는 네가 무슨 말을 하는지 모르겠다.”	But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71	그리고서 베드로가 대문 있는 데로 나갔을 때에, 다른 하녀가 그를 보고, 거기에 있는 사람들에게 말하였다. “이 사람은 나사렛 예수와 함께 다니던 사람입니다.”	And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72	그러자 베드로는 맹세하고 다시 부인하였다. “나는 그 사람을 알지 못하오.”	And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73	조금 뒤에 거기에 서 있는 사람들이 베드로에게 다가와서 베드로에게 말하였다. “당신은 틀림없이 그들과 한패요. 당신의 말씨를 보니, 당신이 누군지 분명히 드러나오.”	And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74	그 때에 베드로는 저주하며 맹세하여 말하였다. “나는 그 사람을 알지 못하오.” 그러자 곧 닭이 울었다.	Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75	베드로는 “닭이 울기 전에, 네가 나를 세 번 부인할 것이다” 하신 예수의 말씀이 생각나서, 바깥으로 나가서 몹시 울었다.	And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
