절	새번역 (2001)	King James Version
1	그러므로 사랑하는 여러분, 우리에게는 이러한 약속이 있으니, 육과 영의 모든 더러움에서 떠나서, 자신을 깨끗하게 하며, 하나님을 두려워하는 가운데 온전히 거룩하게 됩시다.	Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2	고린도 교회의 회개를 기뻐하다 여러분은 마음을 넓혀서, 우리를 받아 주십시오. 우리는 아무에게도 부당한 일을 한 적이 없고, 아무도 망친 적이 없고, 아무도 속여서 빼앗은 일이 없습니다.	Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
3	여러분을 책망하려고 내가 이런 말을 하는 것이 아닙니다. 내가 전에도 말하였거니와, 여러분은 우리 마음 속에 자리잡고 있어서, 죽어도 같이 죽고, 살아도 같이 살 것입니다.	I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
4	나는 여러분에게 큰 신뢰를 두고 있으며, 여러분을 매우 자랑스럽게 생각합니다. 우리의 온갖 환난 가운데서도, 나에게는 위로가 가득하고, 기쁨이 넘칩니다.	Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
5	우리가 마케도니아에 이르렀을 때에도, 우리의 육체는 조금도 쉬지 못하였습니다. 우리는 여러 가지로 환난을 겪었습니다. 밖으로는 싸움이 있었고, 안으로는 두려움이 있었습니다.	For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6	그러나, 실의에 빠진 사람을 위로해 주시는 하나님께서는 디도를 돌아오게 하심으로써 우리를 위로해 주셨습니다.	Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7	그가 돌아온 것으로만이 아니라, 그가 여러분에게서 받은 위로로 우리는 위로를 받았습니다. 여러분이 나를 그리워하고, 내게 잘못한 일을 뉘우치고, 또 나를 열렬히 변호한다는 소식을 그가 전해 줄 때에, 나는 더욱더 기뻐하였습니다.	And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
8	내가 그 편지로 여러분의 마음을 아프게 했더라도, 나는 후회하지 않습니다. 그 편지가 잠시나마 여러분의 마음을 아프게 했다는 것을 알고서 후회하기는 하였지만,	For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9	지금은 기뻐합니다. 그것은 여러분이 아픔을 당했기 때문이 아니라, 아픔을 당함으로써 회개에 이르게 되었기 때문입니다. 여러분이 하나님의 뜻에 맞게 아파하였으니, 결국 여러분은 우리로 말미암아 손해를 본 것은 없습니다.	Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10	하나님의 뜻에 맞게 마음 아파하는 것은, 회개를 하게 하여 구원에 이르게 하므로, 후회할 것이 없습니다. 그러나 세상 일로 마음 아파하는 것은 죽음에 이르게 합니다.	For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11	보십시오. 하나님의 뜻에 맞게 마음 아파함으로써 여러분에게 얼마나 많은 변화가 일어났습니까! 여러분이 나타낸 그 열성, 그 변호, 그 의분, 그 두려워하는 마음, 그 그리워하는 마음, 그 열정, 그 응징은 참으로 놀라운 것입니다. 여러분은 그 모든 일에 잘못이 없음을 보여주었습니다.	For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12	그러므로 내가 여러분에게 편지한 것은, 남에게 불의를 행한 사람이나, 불의를 당한 사람 때문이 아니라, 우리를 위한 여러분의 간절한 마음이 하나님 앞에서 여러분에게 환히 나타나게 하려는 것입니다.	Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13	그래서 우리는 위로를 받았습니다. 또한, 우리가 받은 위로 위에 디도의 기쁨이 겹쳐서, 우리는 더욱 기뻐하게 되었습니다. 그는 여러분 모두로부터 환대를 받고, 마음에 안정을 얻었던 것입니다.	Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14	내가 여러분을 두고 디도에게 자랑한 일이 있었는데, 여러분이 나를 부끄럽게 하지 않았습니다. 우리가 여러분에게 모든 것을 진실하게 말한 것과 같이, 우리가 여러분을 두고 디도에게 말한 자랑도 진실한 것으로 드러났기 때문입니다.	For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15	디도는, 여러분 모두가 두렵고 떨리는 마음으로 자기를 영접하고 순종한 것을 회상하면서, 사랑하는 정을 더욱더 여러분에게 기울이고 있습니다.	And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16	나는 여러분을 온전히 신뢰할 수 있게 된 것을 기뻐합니다.	I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
