| 2 | Beato l’uomo a cui l’Eterno non imputa l’iniquità e nel cui spirito non è frode alcuna! | Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. |
| 3 | Mentr’io mi son taciuto le mie ossa si son consumate pel ruggire ch’io facevo tutto il giorno. | When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. |
| 4 | Poiché giorno e notte la tua mano s’aggravava su me, il mio succo vitale s’era mutato come per arsura d’estate. Sela. | For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. |
| 5 | Io t’ho dichiarato il mio peccato, non ho coperta la mia iniquità. Io ho detto: Confesserò le mie trasgressioni all’Eterno; e tu hai perdonato l’iniquità del mio peccato. Sela. | I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. |
| 6 | Perciò ogni uomo pio t’invochi nel tempo che puoi esser trovato; e quando straripino le grandi acque, esse, per certo, non giungeranno fino a lui. | For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. |

| 9 | Non siate come il cavallo e come il mulo che non hanno intelletto, la cui bocca bisogna frenare con morso e con briglia, altrimenti non ti s’accostano! | Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. |
| 10 | Molti dolori aspettano l’empio; ma chi confida nell’Eterno, la sua grazia lo circonderà. | Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. |
| 11 | Rallegratevi nell’Eterno, e fate festa, o giusti! Giubilate voi tutti che siete diritti di cuore! | Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. |
