1 Ja Elihu lausui ja sanoi: Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
2 "Kuulkaa, te viisaat, minun sanojani, ja kuunnelkaa minua, te tietomiehet. Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
3 Sillä korva koettelee sanat, ja suulaki maistaa ruuan maun. For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
4 Tutkikaamme, mikä oikein on, koettakaamme yhdessä ymmärtää, mikä hyvä on. Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
5 Sillä Job on sanonut: 'Olen oikeassa, mutta Jumala on ottanut minulta oikeuteni. For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
