절Pyha Raamattu (1933 1938)King James Version
I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
Juuri minua vastaan hän kääntää kätensä, yhäti, kaiken päivää. Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
Hän on pannut minut asumaan pimeydessä niinkuin ikiaikojen kuolleet. He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
Hän on tehnyt muurin minun ympärilleni, niin etten pääse ulos, on pannut minut raskaisiin vaskikahleisiin. He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
Hakatuista kivistä hän on tehnyt minun teilleni muurin, on mutkistanut minun polkuni. He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
Vaaniva karhu on hän minulle, piilossa väijyvä leijona. He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Hän on ampunut munuaisiini nuolet, viinensä lapset. He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
Minä olen joutunut koko kansani nauruksi, heidän jokapäiväiseksi pilkkalauluksensa. I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
Hän on ravinnut minua katkeruudella, juottanut minua koiruoholla. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
Hän on purettanut minulla hampaat rikki soraan, painanut minut alas tomuun. He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
Sinä olet syössyt minun sieluni ulos, rauhasta pois, minä olen unhottanut onnen. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
Ja minä sanon: mennyt on minulta kunnia ja Herran odotus. And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the Lord:
Muista minun kurjuuttani ja kodittomuuttani, koiruohoa ja myrkkyä. Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
Tämän minä painan sydämeeni, sentähden minä toivon. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
Herran armoa on, ettemme ole aivan hävinneet, sillä hänen laupeutensa ei ole loppunut: It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Minun osani on Herra, sanoo minun sieluni; sentähden minä panen toivoni häneen. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Hyvä on Herra häntä odottaville, sille sielulle, joka häntä etsii. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Hyvä on hiljaisuudessa toivoa Herran apua. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
Laskekoon suunsa tomuun-ehkä on vielä toivoa. He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
Sillä ei Herra hylkää iankaikkisesti; For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
vaan jos hän on murheelliseksi saattanut, hän osoittaa laupeutta suuressa armossansa. But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
Kun jalkojen alle poljetaan kaikki vangit maassa, To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
kun väännetään miehen oikeutta Korkeimman kasvojen edessä, To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
Eikö lähde Korkeimman suusta paha ja hyvä? Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
Miksi tuskittelee ihminen eläessään, mies syntiensä palkkaa? Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Koetelkaamme teitämme, tutkikaamme niitä ja palatkaamme Herran tykö. Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.
Kohottakaamme sydämemme ynnä kätemme Jumalan puoleen, joka on taivaassa. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
Me olemme luopuneet pois ja olleet kapinalliset; sinä et ole antanut anteeksi, We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
olet peittänyt itsesi vihassasi, ajanut meitä takaa, surmannut säälimättä; Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
olet peittänyt itsesi pilvellä, niin ettei rukous pääse lävitse. Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
Tunkioksi ja hylyksi sinä olet meidät tehnyt kansojen seassa. Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
Suut ammollaan meitä vastaan ovat kaikki meidän vihamiehemme. All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
Osaksemme on tullut kauhu ja kuoppa, turmio ja sortuminen. Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
Vesipurot juoksevat minun silmistäni tyttären, minun kansani, sortumisen tähden. Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Minun silmäni vuotaa lakkaamatta, hellittämättä Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
siihen asti, kunnes katsoo, kunnes näkee Herra taivaasta. Till the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
Silmäni tuottaa tuskaa minun sielulleni kaikkien minun kaupunkini tyttärien tähden. Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
He sulkivat kuoppaan minun elämäni ja heittivät päälleni kiviä. They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
Vedet tulvivat minun pääni ylitse; minä sanoin: olen hukassa. Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
Minä huusin sinun nimeäsi, Herra, kuopan syvyydestä. I called upon thy name, O Lord, out of the low dungeon.
Sinä kuulit minun huutoni: "Älä peitä korvaasi minun avunhuudoltani, että saisin hengähtää". Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
Sinä olit läsnä silloin, kun minä sinua huusin; sinä sanoit: "Älä pelkää". Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
Sinä, Herra, ajoit minun riita-asiani, lunastit minun henkeni. O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
Olethan nähnyt, Herra, minun kärsimäni sorron: hanki minulle oikeus. O Lord, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
Olethan nähnyt kaiken heidän kostonhimonsa, kaikki heidän juonensa minua vastaan. Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
Sinä olet kuullut heidän häväistyksensä, Herra, kaikki heidän juonensa minua vastaan. Thou hast heard their reproach, O Lord, and all their imaginations against me;
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
Istuivatpa he tai nousivat, katso: minä olen heillä pilkkalauluna. Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
Kosta heille, Herra, heidän kättensä teot. Render unto them a recompence, O Lord, according to the work of their hands.
Paaduta heidän sydämensä, kohdatkoon heitä sinun kirouksesi. Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
Aja heitä takaa vihassasi ja hävitä heidät Herran taivaan alta. Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the Lord.
