|---|---|---|
Zachęcam więc przede wszystkim, aby zanoszone były prośby, modlitwy, wstawiennictwa i dziękczynienia za wszystkich ludzi; | I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
Za królów i za wszystkich sprawujących władzę, abyśmy mogli prowadzić życie ciche i spokojne, z całą pobożnością i uczciwością. | For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Jest to bowiem rzecz dobra i miła w oczach Boga, naszego Zbawiciela; | For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Który chce, aby wszyscy ludzie zostali zbawieni i doszli do poznania prawdy. | Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Jeden bowiem jest Bóg, jeden też pośrednik między Bogiem a ludźmi, człowiek Chrystus Jezus; | For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Który wydał samego siebie na okup za wszystkich, na świadectwo we właściwym czasie. | Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Ze względu na nie zostałem ustanowiony kaznodzieją i apostołem – mówię prawdę w Chrystusie, nie kłamię – nauczycielem pogan w wierze i prawdzie. | Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
Chcę więc, aby mężczyźni modlili się na każdym miejscu, podnosząc ręce czyste, bez gniewu i sporu. | I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Podobnie też kobiety niech się zdobią ubiorem przyzwoitym, ze wstydliwością i umiarem, nie z zaplatanymi włosami albo złotem, albo perłami, albo kosztownymi strojami; | In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
Lecz dobrymi uczynkami, jak przystoi kobietom, które uznają się za pobożne. | But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
Kobieta niech się uczy w cichości, w pełnej uległości. | Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
Nie pozwalam zaś kobiecie nauczać ani mieć władzy nad mężczyzną, lecz aby trwała w cichości. | But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Bo Adam został stworzony najpierw, potem Ewa. | For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
I nie Adam został zwiedziony, lecz kobieta, gdy została zwiedziona, popadła w przestępstwo. | And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Lecz będzie zbawiona przez rodzenie dzieci, jeśli zostaną w wierze, miłości i świętości z umiarem. | Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
