1	엄청난 구원 이런 까닭에 우리는 들은 것들에 더더욱 관심을 기울여야만 합니다. 그래서 흘러 떠내려가지 않도록 해야 합니다.	Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2	천사들을 통해서 하신 말씀이 유효하게 되었습니다. 모든 엇나감과 불순종은 마땅한 대가를 받았습니다.	For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3	하물며 우리가, 어떻게 피해 달아나겠습니까? 이렇게 엄청난 구원을 대수롭지 않게 여기고서야 말입니다. 이 구원을 처음에 말씀해 주신 것은 주님이십니다. 그러고는 들은 사람들이 우리한테 이 구원을 믿을 만하다고 굳게 뒷받침해 주었지요.	How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4	하나님도 함께 힘껏 증언해 주셨습니다. 여러 징표와 놀라운 일들과 기적과 또 자신의 뜻을 따라 나눠 주시는 성령님의 선물들로요.	God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
5	예수님의 낮아지심과 우리의 구원 장차 올 세상, 곧 우리가 말하고 있는 그 세상을 하나님은 천사들의 지배 아래에 두지 않으셨습니다.	For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
6	어디선가 누군가가 힘껏 증언하여 말했습니다. “사람이 무엇이라고 주님이 그를 기억해 주시며, 인자가 무엇이라고 주님이 그를 돌보아 주십니까?	But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
7	주님이 그를 잠시 동안 천사들보다 낮추셨지만, 영광과 명예라는 왕관을 그에게 씌워 주셨습니다.	Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
8	모든 것을 그의 발아래에 두셨습니다.” 모든 것을 그의 아래에 두실 때에, 그의 아래에 있지 않은 것은 아무것도 남겨 두지 않으셨습니다. 그러나 지금 우리가 보기에는, 아직까지 모든 것이 그의 아래에 굴복한 것은 아닙니다.	Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9	우리는 잠시 동안 천사들보다 낮아지신 예수님, 그렇지만 죽음의 고난을 통해서 영광과 명예라는 왕관을 쓰고 계신 예수님을 보고 있습니다. 이렇게 예수님은 하나님의 은혜로 모두를 위해 죽음을 맛보셔야 했던 것입니다.	But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10	하나님을 위하여 만물이 생겨났고, 하나님을 통해서 만물이 유지되고 있습니다. 그래서 하나님이 많은 아들딸들을 영광으로 이끌어 들이실 때에, 그들의 구원의 창시자를 고난을 통해 완전하게 하시는 것은 당연한 일입니다.	For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11	거룩하게 해 주시는 분이나 거룩하게 된 사람들이나 모두 한 분한테서 나왔기 때문입니다. 이런 까닭에 예수님은 그들을 형제자매라 부르기를 창피해하지 않으십니다.	For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12	그분은 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “나 널리 알리겠습니다, 주님의 이름을 내 형제자매들에게. 모임 한가운데서 나 주님을 찬송하겠습니다.”	Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13	또 이렇게도 말씀하십니다. “나는, 그분을 굳게 믿겠습니다.” 또 이렇게도 말씀하십니다. “보세요, 나를요, 또 하나님이 내게 주신 자녀들을요.”	And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14	그러므로 자녀들이 다 피와 살을 가진 사람이기 때문에, 예수님 자신도 그들과 똑같이 피와 살을 함께 지니셨습니다. 그것은 자신의 죽음을 통해, 죽음의 힘을 가진 자 곧 마귀를 없애 버리시기 위해서였습니다.	Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15	또 누구든 죽음을 두려워해서, 사는 동안 내내 종살이에서 벗어나지 못하는 사람들을 자유롭게 풀어 주시기 위해서였습니다.	And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16	예수님이 관심 갖고 돌보아 주시는 것은 분명 천사들이 아닙니다. 예수님이 관심 갖고 돌보아 주시는 것은 아브라함의 후손입니다.	For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17	그래서 예수님은 모든 면에서 형제자매들과 같아지셔야 했습니다. 그것은 하나님을 섬기는 일과 관련하여 한결같은 사랑을 품은 믿음직한 대제사장이 되어, 백성의 죗값을 대신 치르시기 위해서였습니다.	Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18	예수님은 몸소 유혹을 받아 고난을 겪어 보신 까닭에, 유혹받는 사람들을 도울 수 있으시니까요.	For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
