1	이스라엘에 적군이 다다를 것이다 (하나님) “너의 입에 대고 불어라, 뿔나팔을! 독수리처럼 여호와의 집에 적군이 다다를 것이다. 그들이 나와 맺은 언약을 어겼고, 나의 가르침을 거슬렀기 때문이다.	Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2	나에게 그들이 부르짖을 것이다. ‘나의 하나님, 우리 이스라엘은 하나님을 압니다!’	Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
3	이스라엘이 좋은 것을 내버렸다. 원수가 그를 뒤쫓을 것이다.	Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4	그들이 스스로 임금을 세웠는데 나한테서 비롯된 일은 아니었다. 고위 관리를 세웠는데 나는 알지 못했다. 그들이 자신들의 은과 금으로 자신들을 위해 우상들을 만들었지만, 결국 뿌리 뽑힐 것이다.	They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5	그가 너의 송아지를 내버렸다, 사마리아야! 내가 그들을 향한 노여움으로 불타올랐다. 언제까지 그들이 깨끗하지 않을 수 있겠느냐?	Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6	그것은 이스라엘에게서 나온 것이다. 그것을 두고 말하자면, 대장장이가 그것을 만들었다. 그것은 신이 아니다. 참으로 사마리아의 송아지는 부서진 조각들이 될 것이다.	For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7	참으로 그들이 바람을 심고 회오리바람을 거둘 것이다. 곡식 줄기가 없을 것이고 그 싹은 곡식을 내지 못할 것이다. 혹시 내더라도 낯선 사람들이 그것을 집어삼킬 것이다.	For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8	이스라엘은 집어삼켜졌다. 이제는 민족들 가운데서 누구의 마음에도 들지 않는 그릇처럼 되었다.	Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9	그들이 아시리아로 올라갔는데 스스로 홀로 있는 들나귀 같았다. 에브라임이 사랑받으려고 선물들을 주었다.	For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10	그들이 민족들에게 선물을 주더라도, 이제 내가 그들을 모아들이겠다. 그들은 임금과 고위 관리들이 지운 짐 때문에 줄어들기 시작했다.	Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11	에브라임이 죄를 위한 제단들을 많이 만들었다. 그것들이 에브라임에게는 죄를 짓는 제단들이 되었다.	Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12	나는 그를 위해 나의 가르침을 수없이 많이 써 주었지만, 사람들은 그것들을 낯선 것으로 여겼다.	I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
13	나에게 바치는 희생제물들로 그들이 고기를 바치고 먹었다. 그러나 여호와는 그들을 받아들이지 않았다. 이제 내가 그들의 잘못을 기억하고 그들의 죄 때문에 그들을 벌할 것이다. 그들은 이집트로 돌아갈 것이다.	They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the Lord accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14	이스라엘이 자신을 만드신 하나님을 잊고서 궁전들을 지었다. 유다는 튼튼한 도시들을 많이 세웠다. 그러나 내가 그 도시들 안으로 불을 보낼 것이고, 그 불이 도시의 궁궐들을 집어삼킬 것이다.”	For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
