1	하나님이 모세에게 나타나 말씀하시다 모세가 이드로의 양 떼를 돌보고 있었다. 이드로는 그의 장인으로 미디안의 제사장이었다. 모세는 양 떼를 광야 뒤로 몰고 가서 하나님의 산 호렙에 이르렀다.	Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
2	그때 여호와의 천사가 그에게 나타났다. 가시나무 덤불 속 불꽃 가운데서였다. 모세가 보니, 거기, 가시나무 덤불이 불타고 있는데도, 가시나무 덤불이 없어지지 않는 것이 아닌가!	And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3	모세가 중얼거렸다. “저기로 가서 이 놀라운 현상을 봐야겠어. 왜 가시나무 덤불이 타 없어지지 않지?”	And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4	모세가 보려고 길에서 벗어나는 것을 여호와께서 보셨다. 하나님이 가시나무 덤불 속에서부터 그를 부르셨다. “모세야, 모세야!” 모세가 대답했다. “저, 여기 있습니다.”	And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “여기로 가까이 오지 마라! 발에서 샌들을 벗어라. 네가 서 있는 곳은 거룩한 땅이기 때문이다.”	And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6	여호와께서 말씀하셨다. “나는 네 조상의 하나님 곧 아브라함의 하나님, 이삭의 하나님, 야곱의 하나님이다.” 모세는 자기 얼굴을 가렸다. 하나님을 우러러 뵙기가 두려웠기 때문이다.	Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
7	여호와께서 말씀하셨다. “이집트에 있는 내 백성의 괴로움을 내가 똑똑히 보았다. 이집트 노동 감독관들 때문에 그들이 울부짖는 소리를 내가 들었다. 그들의 아픔을 내가 알고 있다.	And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
8	그래서 내가 그들을 이집트 사람들에게서 빼내어 주려고 내려왔다. 그 땅에서 이끌어 내어 아름답고 넓은 땅, 젖이 흐르고 꿀이 있는 땅으로 데려가려고 한다. 가나안 사람들, 히타이트 사람들, 아모리 사람들, 브리스 사람들, 히위 사람들, 여부스 사람들이 살고 있는 곳이다.	And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
9	이제, 거기, 이스라엘 사람들의 울부짖음이 내게 다다랐다. 나도 이집트 사람들이 그들을 얼마나 괴롭히고 있는지 보았다.	Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
10	이제 가라! 내가 너를 파라오에게 보낼 테니, 내 백성 이스라엘 사람들을 이집트에서 데리고 나와라!”	Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
11	모세가 하나님께 아뢰었다. “제가 누구라고 파라오에게 가서 이스라엘 사람들을 이집트에서 데리고 나올 수 있겠습니까?”	And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
12	여호와께서 말씀하셨다. “내가 너와 함께 있으마. 내가 너를 보냈다는 증표는 이러하다. 네가 그 백성을 이집트에서 데리고 나올 때, 너희는 이 산에서 하나님을 예배할 것이다.”	And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
13	모세가 하나님께 여쭈었다. “좋습니다! 제가 이스라엘 사람들에게 가서 말하겠습니다. ‘여러분의 조상들의 하나님이 나를 여러분에게 보내셨습니다.’ 그러면 그들이 제게 물을 것입니다, ‘그 하나님의 이름이 무엇이오?’라고요. 제가 무엇이라고 답해야 합니까?”	And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14	하나님이 모세에게 대답하셨다. “에혜아셰르에혜(나는 스스로 있는 자다).” 하나님이 말씀하셨다. “이스라엘 사람들에게 이렇게 대답하렴. ‘에혜(스스로 있는 자)가 나를 여러분에게 보내셨습니다.’”	And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
15	하나님이 다시 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “이스라엘 사람들에게 이렇게 말하거라. ‘여호와 여러분의 조상들의 하나님 곧 아브라함의 하나님, 이삭의 하나님, 야곱의 하나님이 나를 여러분에게 보내셨습니다.’ 이것이 영원히 내 이름이다. 이렇게 대대로 나를 기억하여 부를 것이다.	And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
16	가서 이스라엘의 원로들을 모아서 그들에게 말하거라. ‘여호와 여러분의 조상들의 하나님 곧 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님이 내게 나타나 말씀하셨습니다. 「내가 너희를 자세히 굽어살폈다. 이집트에서 너희에게 닥친 일도 굽어살폈다.	Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
17	내가 말했다. 내가 너희를 이집트의 괴로움에서 벗어나게 하겠다고. 가나안 사람들, 히타이트 사람들, 아모리 사람들, 브리스 사람들, 히위 사람들, 여부스 사람들의 땅으로 데려가겠다고. 젖이 흐르고 꿀이 있는 땅으로.」’	And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
18	그러면 원로들이 네 말을 들을 것이다. 너와 이스라엘의 원로들은 이집트 임금에게 가서 이렇게 말하거라. ‘여호와 히브리 사람들의 하나님이 우리를 만나 주셨습니다. 이제 광야로 3일 길을 가게 허락해 주십시오. 거기서 우리가 여호와 우리 하나님께 희생제물을 바치려 합니다.’	And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The Lord God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.
19	그런데 나는 알고 있다. 이집트 임금이 너희를 가게 내버려두지 않을 것이다. 내가 강한 손으로 몰아붙여야 할 것이다.	And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
20	그래서 내가 나의 손을 펼쳐 온갖 놀라운 일로 이집트를 때릴 것이다. 그 일들을, 이집트 한가운데서 행할 것이다. 그런 다음에야 그가 너희를 내보낼 것이다.	And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
21	그리고 이 백성이 이집트 사람들 눈에 들게 만들 것이다. 그래서 너희가 나올 때 빈손으로는 나오지 않을 것이다.	And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:
22	여자마다 이웃 여자와 자기 집에 머물러 사는 여자에게서 은붙이와 금붙이와 옷가지를 달라고 해서 너희 아들딸들을 곱게 꾸며 줄 수 있을 것이다. 너희가 이집트 사람들의 것을 빼앗을 것이다.”	But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
