1	여호와께서 이스라엘과 언약을 맺으시다 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “여호와에게로 올라오너라. 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘의 원로 70명도 함께 와서, 멀리서 엎드려 절하거라.	And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
2	모세 홀로 여호와에게 다가오고, 다른 사람들은 다가오지 않아야 한다. 백성은 모세와 함께 올라오지 않아야 한다.”	And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.
3	모세가 백성에게 가서 여호와의 모든 말씀과 모든 법령을 자세히 말해 주었다. 그러자 온 백성이 한목소리로 이렇게 응답했다. “여호와께서 하신 모든 말씀을 우리가 실행하겠습니다!”	And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do.
4	모세가 여호와의 모든 말씀을 적고는 아침 일찍 일어나서 산 아래에 제단을 만들었다. 이스라엘의 열두 지파에 맞추어 열두 개의 돌기둥도 세웠다.	And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
5	이스라엘의 젊은이들을 보내어 다태우는제물(번제물)들을 올리게 했다. 평화의희생제물(화목제물)로 여호와께 황소들을 잡아 바치게 했다.	And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord.
6	모세가 그 피의 절반을 받아다가 대접에 담아 놓고, 나머지 절반은 제단 위에 뿌렸다.	And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
7	모세가 언약의 책을 가지고 가서 백성의 귀에 들리도록 읽어 주었다. 그러자 백성이 말했다. “여호와께서 하신 모든 말씀을 우리가 실행하고 지키겠습니다!”	And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.
8	모세가 그 피를 가지고 가서 백성에게 뿌리고는 말했다. “보십시오, 이것은 여호와께서 이 모든 말씀으로 그대들과 함께 맺으신 언약의 피입니다.”	And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.
9	모세가 올라갔다. 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘의 원로 70명이 함께 갔다.	Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
10	그들이 이스라엘의 하나님을 뵈었다. 그분의 발아래는 사파이어 타일을 깔아 놓은 것 같았고 맑은 하늘과 똑같았다.	And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
11	그러나 여호와께서 이스라엘의 지도자들을 치려고 그의 손을 펼치지는 않으셨다. 그래서 그들은 하나님을 뵙는 가운데 먹고 마셨다.	And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
12	모세가 시나이산 위로 올라가다 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “나에게로 올라오너라, 산으로! 그러고는 거기에 있어라. 율법과 명령이 적힌 돌판을 내가 너에게 주려고 한다. 백성에게 가르쳐 주려고 적어 둔 것이다.”	And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
13	그래서 모세는 일어나서 자신의 시중꾼 여호수아를 데리고 하나님의 산으로 올라갔다.	And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.
14	원로들에게 이렇게 말했다. “우리가 돌아올 때까지 여기 앉아서 기다리십시오. 여기, 아론과 후르가 여러분과 함께 있을 것입니다. 누구든지 다툴 일이 있는 사람은 그들에게 나아가십시오.”	And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.
15	모세가 산에 올라갔는데, 구름이 산을 덮고 있었다.	And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
16	여호와의 영광이 시나이산 위에 머물러 있었고, 6일 동안이나 구름이 산을 덮고 있었다. 일곱째 날에 여호와께서 구름 한가운데서부터 모세를 부르셨다.	And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
17	여호와의 영광이 나타난 현상이 이스라엘 사람들의 눈에는 산꼭대기에서 타오르는 불과 같았다.	And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
18	모세는 구름 한가운데로 들어가 산으로 올라갔다. 모세는 밤낮으로 40일 동안 산에 있었다.	And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
