1	하나님이 온 누리를 지으시다 처음에 하나님이 하늘과 땅을 창조하셨다.	In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2	땅은 거칠고 비어 있었다. 어둠이 깊은 물 위에 깔려 있었다. 그리고 하나님의 영이 물 위에서 움직이고 있었다.	And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “빛이 생기기를!” 그러자 빛이 생겼다.	And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4	하나님이 그 빛을 보셨다. 좋았다. 하나님이 빛과 어둠을 나누셨다.	And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5	하나님이 빛을 낮이라 부르시고, 어둠을 밤이라 부르셨다. 저녁이 되고 아침이 되었다. 첫날이었다.	And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “물 한가운데에 둥근지붕(궁창)이 생겨 물과 물 사이가 나누어지기를!”	And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7	하나님이 둥근지붕(궁창)을 만들어 둥근지붕(궁창) 아래의 물과 둥근지붕(궁창) 위의 물을 나누셨다. 그러자 그대로 되었다.	And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8	하나님이 둥근지붕(궁창)을 하늘이라 부르셨다. 저녁이 되고 아침이 되었다. 둘째 날이었다.	And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “하늘 아래의 물이 한 곳으로 모여 마른 데가 드러나기를!” 그러자 그대로 되었다.	And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10	하나님이 마른 데를 땅이라 부르시고, 물 모인 데를 바다라고 부르셨다. 하나님이 보셨다. 좋았다.	And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “땅이 푸른 것을 싹 트게 하기를! 씨 있는 푸성귀, 열매 맺고 씨 있는 갖가지 과실나무를 땅이 싹 트게 하기를!” 그러자 그대로 되었다.	And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12	땅이 푸른 것을 나오게 했다. 씨 있는 갖가지 푸성귀와 열매 맺고 씨 있는 갖가지 나무를 나오게 했다. 하나님이 보셨다. 좋았다.	And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13	저녁이 되고 아침이 되었다. 셋째 날이었다.	And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “빛을 내는 것들이 하늘 둥근지붕(궁창)에 생기기를! 그래서 낮과 밤을 나누고, 징조와 절기, 날과 해를 나타내기를!	And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15	빛을 내는 것들이 하늘 둥근지붕(궁창)에 생겨 땅 위로 비추기를!” 그러자 그대로 되었다.	And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16	빛을 내는 두 가지 큰 것을 하나님이 만드셨다. 그 가운데 큰 것은 낮을 다스리고, 작은 것은 밤을 다스리게 하셨다. 별들도 만드셨다.	And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17	하나님이 그것들을 하늘 둥근지붕(궁창)에 두어 땅 위로 비추게 하셨다.	And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18	낮과 밤을 다스리고, 빛과 어둠을 나누게 하셨다. 하나님이 보셨다. 좋았다.	And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19	저녁이 되고 아침이 되었다. 넷째 날이었다.	And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “물에는 생물들이 떼를 이루고, 땅 위로는 새들이 하늘 둥근지붕(궁창)에 날아다니기를!”	And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21	하나님이 큰 바다괴물들과, 물에 떼를 이루어 움직이는 갖가지 생물과, 날개 달린 갖가지 새를 창조하셨다. 하나님이 보셨다. 좋았다.	And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22	하나님이 그것들에게 복을 내리며 말씀하셨다. “번성하여 불어나고, 바닷물에 가득하라! 또 새는 땅에서 불어나기를!”	And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23	저녁이 되고 아침이 되었다. 다섯째 날이었다.	And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “땅이 갖가지 생물, 곧 갖가지 집짐승과 기는 짐승과 들짐승을 나오게 하기를!” 그러자 그대로 되었다.	And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25	하나님은 갖가지 들짐승과 갖가지 집짐승과 땅의 온갖 기는 짐승을 만드셨다. 하나님이 보셨다. 좋았다.	And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “우리의 모습으로, 우리와 닮은 모양으로 사람을 만들자. 그래서 그들이 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 집짐승과 온 땅과 땅 위에 기어다니는 온갖 짐승을 다스리게 하자.”	And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27	하나님이 사람을 자기 모습으로 창조하셨다. 하나님의 모습으로 사람을 창조하셨다. 남성과 여성으로 그들을 창조하셨다.	So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28	하나님이 그들에게 복을 내리셨다. 하나님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “번성하여 불어나라. 땅에 가득해져서 땅을 지배해라. 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 땅 위에서 움직이는 온갖 짐승을 다스려라.”	And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29	하나님이 말씀하셨다. “자, 온 땅 위에서 씨앗을 내는 온갖 푸성귀를 내가 너희에게 주마. 씨앗을 내는 열매가 있는 온갖 나무도 주마. 너희의 먹을거리가 될 것이다.	And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30	땅의 온갖 짐승과 하늘의 온갖 새와 땅 위에 기어다니는 생명 있는 온갖 것에게는 푸른 푸성귀를 먹을거리로 줄 것이다.” 그러자 그대로 되었다.	And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31	하나님이 친히 만드신 모든 것을 보셨다. 아, 매우 좋았다. 저녁이 되고 아침이 되었다. 여섯째 날이었다.	And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
