절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	“누가 지혜로운 사람과 같고, 누가 말의 의미를 알고 있나요? 사람은 지혜가 있으면 얼굴이 밝아지고 굳은 표정이 바뀌지요.”	Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
2	임금에 대한 자세 “내가 말하지요. 임금의 말을 따르세요. 하나님께 맹세한 대로요.	I counsel thee to keep the king’s commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.
3	임금 앞을 서둘러 떠나지 마세요. 상황이 좋지 않으면 가만히 서 있지 마세요. 임금은 자기 마음대로 무엇이든 할 수 있거든요.	Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.
4	임금의 말에는 위력이 있어요. 누가 그에게 말하기를 ‘무슨 일을 하시는 겁니까?’라고 할 수 있을까요?	Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?
5	명령을 따르는 사람은 나쁜 일을 겪지 않을 거예요. 마음이 지혜로운 사람은 알맞은 때에 올바르게 판가름할 줄 알지요.	Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.
6	일마다 알맞은 때에 올바르게 판가름해야 하는데, 사람은 나쁜 일에 짓눌려 사니까요.	Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
7	사람은 무슨 일이 있을지 알지 못해요. 어떤 일이 일어날지 누가 사람에게 이야기해 줄 수 있을까요?	For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
8	바람을 다스릴 위력이 있어서 바람을 가두어 둘 사람은 없어요. 죽을 날을 맘대로 할 위력도 없고요. 전쟁 중에는 제대할 수 없지요. 불의를 저지르는 사람들을 불의가 건져 낼 수 없고요.”	There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
9	악인과 의인에게 닥치는 운명 “이 모든 일을 내가 보았어요. 해 아래에서 사람들이 하는 온갖 일에 마음을 기울이다가요. 한 사람이 다른 사람에게 위력을 써서 힘들게 하는 때였지요.	All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.
10	그러고 나서 내가 보았어요, 악인들의 장례를 치르는 것을요. 그들은 거룩한 장소를 드나들기도 했지요. 한편 진실하게 행동한 사람들은 그 도시에서 잊혔어요. 이것 또한 허무하네요.	And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.
11	나쁜 행동에 대한 판결이 서둘러 집행되지는 않아요. 그래서 사람의 마음은 나쁜 일을 할 계획으로 가득 차 있지요.	Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
12	죄짓는 사람은 백 번 나쁜 짓을 저지르고서도 오래 살아요. 그러나 나는 알고 있어요, 하나님을 두려워하여 그분을 섬기는 사람이 잘된다는 것을요.	Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
13	악인은 잘되지 못하지요. 하나님을 두려워하지 않는 사람은 오래 살지 못하지요, 그림자처럼요.	But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.
14	허무한 일이 있어요. 세상에서 일어나는 일인데, 악인들에게 닥칠 일이 의인들에게 일어나기도 하고 의인들에게 닥칠 일이 악인들에게 일어나기도 하지요. 내 생각으로는 이것 또한 허무하지요.	There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.
15	나는 기쁨을 찬양해요. 먹고 마시고 기뻐하는 것 말고는 해 아래에서 사람에게 좋은 것이 없거든요. 하나님이 해 아래에서 주신 삶의 나날에 수고하는 사람에게 이런 일은 늘 있지요.	Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.
16	나는 마음을 기울여 지혜를 알려고 했어요. 또 세상에서 사람들이 하는 일을 보려고도 했지요. 그런데 낮에도 밤에도 사람이 눈을 붙이지 못하고 있었어요.	When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:)
17	그때 나는 하나님이 하시는 온갖 일을 보고 깨달았어요. 해 아래에서 사람들이 하는 일을 사람은 알아낼 수 없다는 것을요. 사람이 찾느라 수고하더라도 알아낼 수 없지요. 지혜로운 사람이 안다고 말하더라도 사실은 알아내지 못한 것이지요.”	Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
