1	약자를 억누르는 사람들은 끝장났다 (하나님) “끝장났다, 옳지 않은 법을 정하는 사람들은! 고통을 주는 문서를 끊임없이 써내는 사람들은!	Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
2	힘없는 사람들이 주장하는 권리는 그들이 옆으로 밀어 놓는구나. 나의 백성 가운데 가난한 사람들의 권리를 빼앗는구나. 남편 여읜 여자들이 그들의 약탈 대상이 되는구나. 부모 없는 아이들의 것을 그들이 약탈하는구나.	To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
3	어떻게 하겠느냐, 벌받을 날이 닥치면? 멀리서 폭풍우가 밀어닥치면? 누구에게로 달아나서 도움받겠느냐? 어디에 너희의 재산을 두겠느냐?	And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
4	갇힌 사람들 아래에서 무너져 내릴 따름이다. 살해당한 사람들 아래에서 쓰러질 따름이다.” (예언자) 이 온갖 일이 있을지라도 주님은 분노를 돌이키지 않으시고, 여전히 주님의 손이 펼쳐져 있을 것입니다.	Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
5	아시리아는 끝장났다 (하나님) “끝장났다, 아시리아, 나의 분노의 몽둥이는! 그들 손의 막대기는 나의 노여움이다.	O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
6	하나님을 멀리하는 겨레에게로 내가 그를 내보내겠다. 나를 노엽게 한 백성을 쳐부수도록 내가 그에게 명령하겠다. 강탈할 만한 것은 강탈하고 약탈할 만한 것은 약탈하라고 하겠다. 그 땅을 거리의 진흙처럼 짓밟을 곳으로 만들라고 하겠다.	I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7	그런데 그가 작정한 것은 이렇지 않았고, 그가 마음으로 계획한 것은 이렇지 않았다. 오히려 그가 마음으로 계획한 것은 파괴하는 것이고, 적잖은 민족들을 멸망시키는 것이다.”	Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
8	아시리아 임금의 말 (하나님) “그가 이렇게 말하기 때문이다. (아시리아 임금) ‘나의 지휘관들은 다들 임금이 아니냐?	For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?
9	갈네가 카르케미시와 마찬가지 아니냐? 하맛이 아르밧과 마찬가지 아니냐? 사마리아가 다마스쿠스와 마찬가지 아니냐?	Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
10	아무것도 아닌 우상의 왕국들에 나의 손길이 미쳤다. 그들의 신상들은 예루살렘이나 사마리아의 것보다 더 많았다.	As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
11	내가 사마리아와 그 아무것도 아닌 우상들에게 했듯이, 내가 예루살렘과 그 신상들에게 똑같이 하지 않겠느냐?’”	Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
12	교만한 아시리아 임금에게 내리실 형벌 (예언자) 그때 일어날 일입니다. 주님이 아시리아가 저지르는 온갖 일을 시온산과 예루살렘에서 다 끝내 버리실 것입니다. 주님이 말씀하실 것입니다. (하나님) “내가 아시리아 임금의 교만한 마음의 열매와 거만한 눈의 자랑 때문에 형벌을 내리겠다.	Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
13	그가 이렇게 말하기 때문이다. (아시리아 임금) ‘내 손의 힘으로 내가 해냈다. 나의 지혜로 해냈다. 나는 현명하니까. 내가 민족들 사이의 경계를 없애 버렸다. 그들이 모아 둔 것들을 빼앗았다. 임금자리에 앉은 사람들을 내가 권력자처럼 끌어내렸다.	For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
14	나의 손이 새의 보금자리에 미쳤듯이 민족들의 재산에 닿았다. 내버려진 새알들을 주워 오듯이 내가 직접 온 땅을 주워 왔다. 날갯짓조차 못 하고 입을 열어 울지도 못하는구나.’	And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
15	(하나님) 도끼가 도끼질하는 사람에게 뽐낼 수 있느냐? 톱이 톱질하는 사람에게 뻐길 수 있느냐? 지팡이가 지팡이 든 사람을 휘두르려는 것 같다. 막대기가 나무 아닌 사람을 들려는 것 같다.”	Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
16	(예언자) 이러므로 주님 곧 전능하신 여호와께서 아시리아의 기름진 곳들을 바짝 마르게 하실 것입니다. 그래서 아시리아의 영광 아래로 활활 타는 불꽃이 타오를 것입니다.	Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
17	이스라엘의 빛이 불이 되시고, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님이 불꽃이 되실 것입니다. 그 불이 태워 집어삼킬 것입니다, 아시리아의 가시와 엉겅퀴를 하루 사이에!	And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
18	그 불이 아시리아의 숲과 과수원의 영광을 통째로 망가뜨릴 것입니다. 아시리아는 쇠약한 사람이 쇠약해지는 것처럼 될 것입니다.	And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.
19	아시리아의 숲에 남은 나무 수가 얼마 되지 않을 것입니다. 그래서 아이라도 그 수를 적어 둘 수 있을 것입니다.	And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
20	남은 사람들이 돌아올 것이다 (예언자) 그날에 일어날 일입니다. 이스라엘의 남은 사람들과 야곱 집안의 피난민들이 그들을 쳐부순 아시리아를 더는 의지하지 않을 것입니다. 여호와 이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님을 참으로 의지할 것입니다.	And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21	남은 사람들이 돌아올 것입니다, 야곱의 남은 사람들이! 용맹하신 하나님께로 돌아올 것입니다.	The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
22	이스라엘, 그대의 백성이 바닷모래 같더라도 백성 가운데서 남은 사람들이 돌아올 것이기 때문입니다. 멸망이 결정되었습니다. 공의가 넘쳐흐를 것입니다.	For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
23	결정된 멸망을 주님 곧 전능하신 여호와께서 온 땅 한가운데서 이루실 것입니다.	For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
24	아시리아를 두려워하지 마라 (예언자) 이러므로 주님 곧 전능하신 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “두려워하지 마라, 시온에 사는 내 백성아, 아시리아를! 아시리아가 몽둥이로 너 이스라엘을 때리더라도, 너를 치려고 막대기를 들더라도, 이집트에서 하던 방식으로 하더라도!	Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
25	잠시 뒤에 노여움이 그칠 것이다. 그러면 나의 분노는 그들의 파멸로 이어질 것이기 때문이다.”	For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
26	(예언자) 전능하신 여호와께서 오렙 바위에서 미디안을 때리신 것처럼 아시리아에게 채찍을 휘두르실 것입니다. 또 여호와의 막대기가 바다를 향할 것입니다. 이집트에서 하시던 방식으로 그 막대기를 드실 것입니다.	And the Lord of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
27	그날에 일어날 일입니다. 아시리아가 지워 준 짐이 그대의 어깨에서 벗겨질 것입니다. 아시리아가 메워 준 멍에는 그대의 목에서 벗겨질 것입니다. 멍에는 망가질 것입니다, 기름기 때문에!	And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
28	아시리아가 칠 것이다 (예언자) 아시리아가 아얏으로 왔고 미그론을 지났습니다. 믹마스에 보급품을 두었습니다.	He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:
29	그들이 깊은 골짜기를 지나서 소리쳤습니다. “우리가 하룻밤 묵을 곳은 게바이다.” 라마가 떨고, 사울의 도시 기브아가 달아났습니다.	They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
30	큰 소리로 외쳐라, 딸 갈림아! 주의 깊게 들어라, 라이사야! 불쌍하구나, 아나돗은!	Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.
31	맛메나는 달아났고, 게빔에 사는 사람들은 몸을 피했습니다.	Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
32	아직 그날에 아시리아가 놉에 머물러 있습니다. 손을 휘두를 것입니다, 딸 시온의 산, 예루살렘의 언덕을 향해서!	As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
33	보세요, 주님 곧 전능하신 여호와께서 무서운 힘으로 가지를 쳐 내실 것입니다. 높이 솟은 것들이 잘려 나가고, 키 큰 것들이 낮아질 것입니다.	Behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
34	숲의 덤불을 여호와께서 쇠도끼로 베어 내실 것입니다. 강하신 하나님 때문에 레바논이 무너질 것입니다.	And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
