절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	우리를 도와주시는 예수 그리스도 나의 자녀 여러분, 이것들을 내가 여러분에게 써 보내는 것은 여러분이 죄를 짓지 않도록 하려는 것입니다. 그러나 누군가 죄를 짓는다면, 우리에게는 아버지 앞에 나서서 도와주시는 분이 계십니다. 곧 의로우신 예수 그리스도이십니다.	My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2	그분 자신이 우리의 여러 죄를 덮어 주는 희생제물(화목제물)이십니다. 우리의 죄뿐만 아니라 온 세상의 죄도 덮어 주십니다.	And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3	우리가 하나님을 안다는 것을 우리는 이로써, 곧 그분의 계명들을 지키는 것으로써 압니다.	And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4	“내가 하나님을 안다!” 하고 말은 하면서 하나님의 계명들을 지키지 않는 사람은 거짓말쟁이입니다. 이 사람 안에는 진리가 없습니다.	He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5	그러나 누구든 하나님의 말씀을 지키면 그 사람 안에서 이미 하나님의 사랑이 참으로 완전해진 것입니다. 우리는 이로써 우리가 하나님 안에 있다는 것을 알 수 있습니다.	But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6	하나님 안에 머물러 있다고 말하는 사람은 예수님이 살아가셨던 것처럼 그 사람 자신도 그렇게 살아가야 마땅합니다.	He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
7	새 계명 사랑하는 여러분, 내가 써 보내는 것은 새 계명이 아닙니다. 여러분이 처음부터 가지고 있던 옛 계명입니다. 그 옛 계명은 여러분이 들은 그 말씀입니다.	Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
8	나는 다시 새 계명을 여러분에게 써 보냅니다. 그것은 하나님 안에서 또 여러분 가운데서 참됩니다. 어둠이 지나가고 참빛이 이미 비치고 있기 때문입니다.	Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9	빛 가운데 있다고 말하면서도 자기 형제자매를 미워하는 사람은 아직까지 어둠 가운데 있는 것입니다.	He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10	자기 형제자매를 사랑하는 사람은 빛 가운데 머무르고 있는 것입니다. 그 사람 안에는 걸려 넘어지게 하는 것이 없습니다.	He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11	자기 형제자매를 미워하는 사람은 어둠 가운데 있습니다. 그는 어둠 가운데 걸어가고 있으며, 자기가 어디로 가고 있는지를 알지 못합니다. 어둠이 그의 눈을 멀게 했기 때문입니다.	But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12	자녀 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 이 글을 씁니다. 그분의 이름 덕분에 여러분의 죄가 용서되었기 때문입니다.	I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
13	부모 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 씁니다. 여러분이 처음부터 계신 분을 알았기 때문입니다. 젊은이 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 씁니다. 여러분이 악한 자를 이겼기 때문입니다.	I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
14	어린이 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 썼습니다. 여러분이 그 아버지를 알았기 때문입니다. 부모 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 썼습니다. 여러분이 처음부터 계신 분을 알았기 때문입니다. 젊은이 여러분, 내가 여러분에게 썼습니다. 여러분이 힘차고 하나님의 말씀이 여러분 가운데 머무르고 있으며 여러분이 악한 자를 이겼기 때문입니다.	I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
15	여러분은 세상이나 세상에 있는 것들을 사랑하지 마십시오. 누군가 세상을 사랑하면, 그 사람 안에는 아버지의 사랑이 없습니다.	Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16	세상에 있는 모든 것, 곧 육신의 욕망과 눈의 욕망과 살림살이 떠벌리기는 아버지에게서 온 것이 아니라 세상에서 온 것들이기 때문입니다.	For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17	세상은 지나가 버립니다. 세상의 욕망도 지나가 버립니다. 그러나 하나님의 뜻을 실행하는 사람은 영원히 머물러 있습니다.	And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18	그리스도를 대적하는 자 어린이 여러분, 지금은 마지막 때입니다! 그리스도를 대적하는 자가 온다는 것을 여러분이 들은 것처럼, 지금 그리스도를 대적하는 자들이 많이 생겨났습니다. 이 사실로부터 우리는 지금이 마지막 때라는 것을 알아차립니다.	Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19	그들은 우리한테서 나갔지만 우리한테 속한 자들이 아니었습니다. 우리한테 속한 자들이었다면 우리와 함께 머물러 있었을 테니까요. 그러나 결국에 그들은 모두 우리한테 속해 있지 않다는 것이 드러나게 되었습니다.	They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20	그러나 여러분은, 거룩하신 분에게서 기름부음을 받았습니다. 그래서 여러분 모두는 알고 있습니다.	But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
21	내가 여러분에게 써 보낸 것은 여러분이 진리를 알지 못하기 때문이 아닙니다. 오히려 진리를 알고 있고, 또한 모든 거짓은 진리에서 오는 것이 아니라는 것을 알고 있기 때문입니다.	I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22	누가 거짓말쟁이입니까? 예수님이 그리스도이신 것을 부인하는 사람 아니겠습니까? 이 사람, 곧 아버지와 아들을 부인하는 사람이 그리스도를 대적하는 자입니다.	Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23	누구든 아들을 부인하는 사람은 아버지도 모시고 있지 않는 것입니다. 아들을 인정하는 사람은 아버지도 모시고 있습니다.	Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24	여러분 자신들이 처음부터 들었던 것, 그것이 여러분 안에 머물러 있게 하십시오. 처음부터 여러분이 들었던 것이 여러분 안에 머물러 있으면, 여러분 자신들도 아들 안에 또 아버지 안에 머무르게 될 것입니다.	Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25	이것이 그분께서 친히 우리에게 약속해 주신 약속, 곧 영원한 생명입니다.	And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
26	여러분을 속여 헤매게 하는 사람들에 대해 내가 이런 것들을 써 보냈습니다.	These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27	여러분으로 말하자면, 그분에게서 받은 기름부음이 여러분 안에 머물러 있으므로, 누군가가 여러분을 가르쳐 주어야 할 필요가 없습니다. 그분의 기름부으심이 모든 것에 대해 여러분에게 가르치시므로, 그것은 진리이고 거짓이 아닙니다. 그러니까 그 기름부으심이 여러분을 가르치신 대로 여러분은 그분 안에 머물러 계십시오.	But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28	하나님의 자녀 이제는, 자녀 여러분, 그리스도 안에 머물러 있으십시오. 그러면 그분이 나타나실 때 우리가 담대함을 가지게 될 것입니다. 그리고 그분이 다시 오실 때에 그분에게 창피를 당하지 않을 것입니다.	And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29	그분이 의로우시다는 것을 여러분이 알고 있다면, 의를 실행하는 사람도 모두 하나님에게서 태어났다는 것을 여러분은 알 수 있습니다.	If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
