1	몹시 음란한 여자 바빌론과 붉은 짐승 그때 일곱 개의 그릇을 가진 그 일곱 천사들 가운데 하나가 와서 나하고 이야기를 나누었습니다. 그 천사가 말했습니다. “이리로 와 보세요. 많은 물 위에 앉아 있는 몹시 음란한 여자가 받을 심판을 그대에게 보여 줄게요.	And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
2	땅의 임금들이 그 음란한 여자와 음란한 짓을 저질렀습니다. 땅에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들이 포도주, 곧 그 여자의 음란한 짓에 취했습니다.”	With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
3	그러고는 그 천사가 나를 성령님 안에서 이끌어 광야로 데려갔습니다. 또 나는 보았습니다. 여자가 붉은 짐승 위에 앉아 있었습니다. 그 짐승은 하나님을 모독하는 이름으로 가득 차 있었습니다. 그 짐승에게는 머리가 일곱 개, 뿔이 열 개 있었습니다.	So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4	그런데 그 여자는 자줏빛과 붉은빛 옷을 둘러 입고 있었고, 금과 보석과 진주로 꾸미고 있었습니다. 그 여자의 손에는 금잔이 있었는데, 금잔은 혐오스러운 것들과 더러운 것들, 곧 그 여자의 음란한 짓으로 가득 차 있었습니다.	And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5	그 여자의 이마에는 이름이 적혀 있었는데, 비밀스러운 것이었습니다. 그 이름은 ‘바빌론, 큰 도시, 음란한 여자들의 어미, 땅에 있는 혐오스러운 것들의 어미!’였습니다.	And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6	또 나는 보았습니다. 그 여자는 성도들의 피와 예수님을 증언한 사람들의 피에 취해 있었습니다. 나는 그 여자를 보고 크게 놀라고 놀랐습니다.	And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
7	천사가 나에게 물었습니다. “그대는 무엇 때문에 놀라시나요? 내가 그대에게 그 여자의 비밀을 알려 주겠습니다. 그 여자를 태우고 있고, 일곱 개의 머리와 열 개의 뿔을 가진 짐승의 비밀도요.	And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8	그대가 본 짐승은 전에 있다가 지금은 없는데, 장차 밑바닥 없는 구덩이(무저갱)에서 올라올 것입니다. 마침내는 멸망으로 달려갈 것입니다. 그 짐승을 보게 되면 땅 위에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들은 놀랄 것입니다. 그들의 이름이 세상의 기초가 놓일 때부터 생명책에 적혀 있지 않은 사람들은 말입니다. 그 짐승이 전에 있다가 지금은 없는데 앞으로 나타날 것이기 때문입니다.	The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9	이런 경우에 지혜 있는 정신이 요구됩니다. 일곱 개의 머리는 일곱 개의 산인데, 거기 그 산들 위에 여자가 앉아 있습니다. 그 산들은 일곱 명의 임금입니다.	And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
10	다섯 명은 무너졌고, 한 명은 지금 있고, 다른 한 명은 아직 오지 않았습니다. 그러나 그가 오더라도 단지 잠시 동안만 머물러야 합니다.	And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11	전에 있다가 지금은 없는 그 짐승은 바로 여덟 번째 임금인데, 그 일곱 명 가운데 들어 있습니다. 그도 마침내 멸망으로 달려갈 것입니다.	And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12	그대가 본 열 개의 뿔은 열 명의 임금입니다. 그들은 아직 왕권을 받지 못했지만, 한 시간 동안 그 짐승과 함께 임금으로 다스릴 권한을 받아 가질 것입니다.	And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13	이들은 마음을 하나로 모아 자기들의 능력과 권한을 그 짐승에게 내줄 것입니다.	These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14	이들은 어린양과 맞붙어 싸울 테지만, 어린양이 그들을 이길 것입니다. 어린양은 주들의 주님이시고 임금들의 임금님이시며, 그와 함께한 이들은 부름받고 선택받은 믿음직한 사람들이기 때문입니다.”	These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15	또 천사가 나에게 말합니다. “그대가 물을 보았어요. 그 음란한 여자가 물 위에 앉아 있었지요. 그 물은 백성들과 무리들과 민족들과 언어들입니다.	And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16	그대가 본 그 열 개의 뿔과 그 짐승, 이들도 그 음란한 여자를 미워할 것입니다. 또 그 음란한 여자가 황폐해지고 벌거벗게 만들 것입니다. 그리고 그 음란한 여자의 살을 먹고 그 음란한 여자를 불로 완전히 태워 버릴 것입니다.	And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17	하나님이 그들에게 하나님의 생각을 실행할 마음을 주셨기 때문입니다. 그들이 한가지 생각을 품고 행동하여, 자기들이 가진 왕권을 그 짐승에게 주도록 하셨습니다. 하나님의 말씀들이 다 이루어질 때까지 말입니다.	For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18	그대가 본 그 여자는 땅의 임금들 위에서 다스릴 왕권을 가진 큰 도시입니다.”	And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
