1	바룩에 대한 말씀 예레미야 예언자가 네리야의 아들 바룩에게 한 말. 바룩이 예레미야의 입에서 나오는 대로 이 말씀들을 두루마리에 받아 적었을 때였다. 요시야의 아들 여호야김이 유다 임금이던 넷째 해였다.	The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2	(예언자) “여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨소, 그대 바룩을 두고서.	Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;
3	(하나님) ‘네가 말했지. 「나, 큰일 났네! 여호와께서 나의 고통에 괴로움을 더하시는구나. 한숨짓기도 지쳤어. 안식할 곳을 찾을 수가 없어.」’”	Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the Lord hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
4	(하나님) “너는 바룩에게 말해 주어라. (예언자) ‘여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨소. (하나님) 「보라, 내가 건축한 것을 내가 허물어 버리겠다. 내가 심은 것을 내가 뽑아 버리겠다. 온 땅을 그렇게 하겠다.	Thus shalt thou say unto him, The Lord saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
5	그런데 너는 자신을 위해 큰일들을 찾고 있구나. 찾지 마라! 내가 모든 생명체에게 재난이 닥치게 할 것이기 때문이다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그러나 너에게는 내가 너의 목숨을 전쟁에서 싸워 빼앗은 물건처럼 주겠다, 네가 가는 곳이면 어디에서든!」’”	And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
