1	여호와께서 솔로몬에게 다시 나타나시다 솔로몬이 여호와의 집과 왕궁 짓기를 다 끝냈을 때 일어난 일이다. 솔로몬이 만들고 싶었던 것을 다 끝냈을 때였다.	And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
2	여호와께서 솔로몬에게 나타나셨다. 두 번째였다. 기브온에서 그에게 나타나셨던 것과 같았다.	That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
3	여호와께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 너의 기도와 너의 탄원을 들었다. 네가 나의 앞에서 탄원했지. 네가 영원히 나의 이름을 두려고 지은 이 집을 내가 따로 떼어 두었다. 나의 눈과 나의 마음이 언제나 거기에 있을 것이다.	And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
4	너는, 너의 아버지 다윗이 순수한 마음으로 올곧게 걸었던 것처럼 나의 앞에서 걷도록 해라. 그래서 내가 명령한 것은 무엇이든 그대로 하도록 해라. 내 규정들과 내 법령들을 지키도록 해라.	And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
5	그러면 내가 이스라엘 위에 너의 왕국의 임금자리를 영원히 세워 줄 것이다. 너의 아버지 다윗에게 내가 이렇게 말해 준 대로지. ‘너한테서 이스라엘의 임금자리에 앉을 사람이 끊어지지 않을 것이다.’	Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
6	너희와 너희 자손이 나한테서 정말 돌아선다고 하자. 내가 너희 앞에 둔 나의 명령들과 규정들을 너희가 지키지 않는다고 하자. 그러고는 가서 다른 신들을 섬기고 그들에게 엎드려 절한다고 하자.	But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
7	그러면 내가 이스라엘을, 내가 그들에게 주었던 땅에서 끊어 낼 것이다. 또 나의 이름을 위해 내가 따로 떼어 두었던 집을 내가 나의 앞에서 내칠 것이다. 그래서 이스라엘은 모든 백성들 가운데서 이야깃거리와 놀림감이 될 것이다.	Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
8	이 집이 아주 높아진 적이 있었지만, 지나가는 사람마다 보고서 소스라치게 놀라고 소리 내어 비웃을 것이다. 그러고는 이렇게 말할 것이다. ‘무엇 때문에 여호와가 이 땅과 이 집에 이렇게 하셨는가?’	And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?
9	그러면 사람들이 이렇게 말할 것이다. ‘여호와 그들의 하나님을, 이집트 땅으로부터 그들의 조상들을 이끌어 내신 분을 그들이 저버렸어. 그러고는 다른 신들에게 달라붙어서, 그것들에게 엎드려 절하고 그것들을 섬겼어. 이 때문에 여호와께서 그들 위에 이런 온갖 재앙을 내리신 거야.’” ()	And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.
10	솔로몬과 히람이 주고받다 솔로몬이 두 집, 곧 여호와의 집과 왕궁 짓는 20년이 끝나 갈 무렵이었다.	And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king’s house,
11	티레 임금 히람은 솔로몬에게 삼나무(백향목) 목재, 전나무 목재와, 그가 바라는 만큼 얼마든지 금을 대 주었다. 그때 솔로몬 임금은 히람에게 도시 20군데를 주었다. 갈릴리 땅에 있는 도시들이었다.	(Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12	히람이 티레에서 나왔다. 솔로몬이 그에게 준 도시들을 살펴보려 한 것이다. 그런데 그 도시들이 그의 눈에 차지 않았다.	And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
13	그가 말했다. “왜 이 모양인가요, 이 도시들이? 임금님께서 나한테 준 도시들이요, 나의 형제 같은 임금님!” 그래서 사람들은 그 도시들을 가불 땅이라고 부르면서 오늘까지 이르렀다.	And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
14	히람은 임금에게 금 4톤을 보내왔다. ()	And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
15	솔로몬이 다른 많은 일을 하다 솔로몬 임금이 사람들을 강제 노동에 동원해서 해낸 일은 이러했다. 여호와의 집과 자신의 집과 밀로와 예루살렘 성벽을 건설했다. 하솔과 므깃도와 게셀도 건설했다.	And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16	이집트 임금 파라오가 올라와 게셀을 빼앗아 불살랐다. 그 도시에 살고 있던 가나안 사람들을 죽였다. 그러고는 그 도시를 혼수품으로 자신의 딸 곧 솔로몬의 아내에게 주었다.	For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
17	솔로몬은 게셀과 아래쪽 벳호론을 다시 건설했다.	And Solomon built Gezer, and Beth–horon the nether,
18	그는 바알랏과 다말을 유다 광야에 건설했다.	And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
19	그는 자신에게 딸린 모든 창고 도시들, 전투수레 도시들, 기마병 도시들도 건설했다. 예루살렘과 레바논과 자신이 다스리는 온 땅에 건설하고 싶은 것을 솔로몬은 모두 건설했다.	And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20	남아 있는 백성이 있었다. 이들은 아모리 사람들, 히타이트 사람들, 브리스 사람들, 히위 사람들, 여부스 사람들의 일부였다. 이들은 모두 이스라엘 사람들이 아니었다.	And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,
21	그들의 뒤를 이어 그들의 자손이 그 땅에 남아 있었다. 이스라엘 사람들이 완전히 없애지 못했던 사람들이다. 솔로몬이 그들을 노예처럼 강제 노동에 동원하여 오늘까지 이르렀다.	Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.
22	이스라엘 사람들 가운데서는 솔로몬이 아무도 노예로 삼지 않았다. 그들은 군인들, 그의 신하들, 그의 고위 관리들, 그의 장교들, 그의 전투수레 부대와 기마병의 지휘관들이기 때문이었다.	But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
23	이들은 솔로몬의 일을 감독하는 대장들로 550명이었다. 일하고 있는 백성을 다스리는 사람들이었다.	These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.
24	그러나 파라오의 딸이 다윗의 도시에서 솔로몬이 지어 준 집으로 올라왔을 때, 그때 비로소 솔로몬이 밀로를 건설했다.	But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.
25	솔로몬은 해마다 세 번씩 다태우는제물(번제물)과 평화제물(화목제물)을 제단 위에 올려 드렸다. 그 제단은 그가 여호와를 위해 지어 놓은 제단이었다. 그와 더불어 여호와 앞에 있는 제단에다 향을 피워 바쳤다. 이렇게 그는 그 집을 완공했다.	And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the Lord, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the Lord. So he finished the house.
26	또 배를 솔로몬 임금이 만들었다. 에시온게벨에서였다. 에돔 땅 홍해 바닷가의 엘랏 가까이에 있는 곳이었다.	And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion–geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.
27	히람이 배로 자신의 신하들, 곧 바다를 잘 아는 뱃사람들을 보냈다. 솔로몬의 신하들과 함께 보냈다.	And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
28	그들은 오피르로 가서, 거기서 14.2톤 되는 금을 가져와 솔로몬 임금에게 바쳤다.	And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
