1	솔로몬이 다른 많은 일을 하다 20년 동안 솔로몬은 여호와의 집과 자신의 집을 지었다.	And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,
2	히람이 솔로몬에게 준 도시들을 솔로몬이 정비했다. 그러고는 이스라엘 사람들을 거기에 살게 했다.	That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
3	솔로몬이 하맛소바로 가서 그곳을 차지했다.	And Solomon went to Hamath–zobah, and prevailed against it.
4	그는 닷몰을 광야에 건설하고, 모든 창고 도시들을 하맛에 건설했다.	And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.
5	그는 위쪽 벳호론과 아래쪽 벳호론도 건설했다. 성벽과 문빗장이 있는 요새 도시들이었다.	Also he built Beth–horon the upper, and Beth–horon the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
6	솔로몬이 바알랏과 자신에게 딸린 모든 창고 도시들도 건설했다. 모든 전투수레 도시들과 기마병 도시들도 건설했다. 예루살렘과 레바논과 자신이 다스리는 온 땅에 건설하고 싶은 것을 솔로몬은 모두 건설했다.	And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.
7	남아 있는 백성이 있었다. 이들은 히타이트 사람들, 아모리 사람들, 브리스 사람들, 히위 사람들, 여부스 사람들의 일부였다. 이들은 모두 이스라엘 출신이 아니었다.	As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,
8	그들의 뒤를 이어 그들의 자손이 그 땅에 남아 있었다. 이스라엘 사람들이 다 없애지 못했던 사람들이다. 그 일부를 솔로몬이 강제 노동에 동원하여 오늘까지 이르렀다.	But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.
9	이스라엘 사람들 가운데서는 솔로몬이 아무도 자신의 일을 위한 노예들로 삼지 않았다. 그들은 군인들이고 장교들의 지휘관이며 전투수레 부대와 기마병의 지휘관들이기 때문이었다.	But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.
10	이들은 솔로몬 임금에게 딸려 감독할 자리에 있는 대장들로 250명이었다. 백성을 다스리는 사람들이었다.	And these were the chief of king Solomon’s officers, even two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people.
11	파라오의 딸을, 솔로몬이 다윗의 도시에서부터 그 여자를 위해 지은 집으로 올려 보냈다. 이렇게 생각했던 것이다. ‘내 아내를 이스라엘 임금 다윗의 왕궁에서 살게 할 수는 없어. 여호와의 상자(궤)가 들어가 있는 곳은 거룩하니까.’	And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.
12	그때 솔로몬이 다태우는제물(번제물)을 여호와께 올려 드렸다. 그가 현관 앞에 지어 놓은 여호와의 제단에서였다.	Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,
13	솔로몬은 모세의 명령에 따라 날마다 할 일에 맞추어 다태우는제물(번제물)을 바쳤다. 안식일과 초하룻날과 해마다 세 번 치르는 명절에 바치는 제물이었다. 누룩없는명절(무교절)과 칠주후명절(칠칠절)과 초막명절(초막절)이 그 세 명절이었다.	Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
14	그는 아버지 다윗이 정해 놓은 대로 제사장들을 저마다 섬기는 일에 따라 나누어 세웠다. 그리고 레위 사람들을 그 지켜야 할 일에 따라 나누고, 정해 놓은 하루 일에 맞추어 제사장들 앞에서 찬양하고 섬기게 했다. 문지기들도 나누어 문마다 세웠다. 이같이 한 것은 하나님의 사람 다윗의 명령 때문이었다.	And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.
15	제사장들과 레위 사람들은 어떤 일이라도, 창고에 관한 일이라도 왕이 자기들에게 내린 명령에서 벗어나지 않았다.	And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
16	솔로몬의 모든 일이 이루어졌다. 하나님의 집의 기초가 깔리던 날부터 그 일이 끝마치기에 이르도록 여호와의 집이 모두 다 만들어졌다.	Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.
17	그때 솔로몬이 에시온게벨과 엘랏으로 갔다. 에돔 땅 바닷가에 있는 곳이었다.	Then went Solomon to Ezion–geber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.
18	히람이 자신의 신하들을 시켜 배를 솔로몬에게 보냈다. 바다를 아는 신하들도 보냈다. 그들은 솔로몬의 신하들과 함께 오피르에 가서, 거기서 15.3톤 되는 금을 가져와 솔로몬 임금에게 바쳤다.	And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
