절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	자기 공의로 살고 자기 죄로 죽을 것이다 (예언자) 여호와의 말씀이 나에게 내려오는 일이 일어났습니다.	The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying,
2	(하나님) “이 무슨 일이냐? 너희가 이스라엘 땅에서 입버릇처럼 이 말을 하고 있다니! ‘익지 않은 열매를 먹는 사람은 부모인데, 무디어지는 것은 자식의 이빨이다.’	What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
3	내가 살아 있음을 걸고 분명히 말해 둔다. ― 주 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 너희가 이스라엘에서 더는 입버릇처럼 이 말을 하지 않게 될 것이다.	As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
4	보라, 모든 목숨이 나의 것이다. 부모의 목숨이나 자식의 목숨이나 마찬가지로 목숨은 나의 것이다. 죄를 지은 사람, 바로 그가 죽을 것이다.	Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
5	한 남자가 있는데, 그가 의인이라고 하자. 그래서 정의와 공의를 행동으로 옮긴다고 하자.	But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
6	그가 산 위에서 우상의 제물을 먹지 않았고, 눈길을 이스라엘 집안의 우상들에게로 돌리지 않았다고 하자. 이웃의 아내를 더럽히지 않았고, 생리 중인 아내를 가까이하지 않는다고 하자.	And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,
7	그가 아무도 억누르지 않는다고 하자. 빚진 사람의 전당물을 돌려주고, 남의 것을 강탈하지 않는다고 하자. 자기 빵을 배고픈 사람에게 주고, 헐벗은 사람에게 옷을 입혀 준다고 하자.	And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;
8	그가 이자를 받고 꾸어 주지 않고, 웃돈을 받지 않는다고 하자. 옳지 않은 것으로부터는 손을 거두어들이고, 사람과 사람 사이에서 참되게 판가름한다고 하자.	He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
9	그가 나의 규정들을 따라 살아가고, 나의 법령들을 지켜 참되게 행동한다고 하자. 그러면 그는 의인이다. 반드시 살아남을 것이다. ― 주 여호와의 말씀입니다. ―	Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord God.
10	그런데 그가 난폭한 아들을 낳아 그 아들이 남의 피를 쏟는다고 하자. 아, 이런 잘못 가운데 하나를 저지른다고 하자.	If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,
11	아버지는 이런 잘못을 하나도 저지르지 않았는데, 그 아들은 산 위에서 우상의 제물을 먹었다고 하자. 이웃의 아내를 더럽혔다고 하자.	And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour’s wife,
12	불쌍하고 가난한 사람을 그 아들이 억누르고, 남의 것을 강탈했다고 하자. 전당물을 돌려주지 않는다고 하자. 우상들에게로 눈길을 돌리고, 역겨운 짓을 저질렀다고 하자.	Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,
13	그 아들이 이자를 받고 꾸어 주거나 웃돈을 받았다고 하자. 그러면 그 아들이 살아남겠느냐? 살아남지 못할 것이다. 이 모든 역겨운 짓을 저질렀으므로 반드시 사형에 처해야 한다. 그가 피 흘리며 죽는 것은 자신 때문이다.	Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
14	그런데, 자, 그가 아들을 낳았다고 하자. 그 아들이 아버지가 저지른 온갖 죄를 보고서 두려워하여 그것들을 따라 하지 않았다고 하자.	Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
15	산 위에서 그 아들이 우상의 제물을 먹지 않고, 눈길을 이스라엘 집안의 우상들에게로 돌리지 않았다고 하자. 이웃의 아내를 더럽히지 않았다고 하자.	That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour’s wife,
16	그 누구도 그 아들이 억누르지 않고, 전당물을 잡아 두지 않았다고 하자. 남의 것을 강탈하지도 않았다고 하자. 자기 빵을 배고픈 사람에게 주고, 헐벗은 사람에게 옷을 입혀 주었다고 하자.	Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
17	불쌍한 사람에게서는 그 아들이 손을 거두어들여 이자와 웃돈을 받지 않았다고 하자. 내 법령들을 지키고, 내 규정들을 따라 산다고 하자. 그러면 그가 아버지의 잘못 때문에 죽지는 않을 것이다. 반드시 살아남을 것이다.	That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
18	그의 아버지는 형제를 억누르고 억눌렀다. 강탈하고 강탈했다. 좋지 않은 일을 자기 백성 가운데서 했다. 그래서, 보라, 자기 잘못 때문에 죽을 것이다.	As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.
19	그런데 너희는 이렇게 말한다. ‘왜 아버지의 잘못이 있는데도 그 아들이 벌받지 않았는가?’ 그러나 그 아들은 정의와 공의를 행동으로 옮겼다. 나의 모든 규정을 지키고 따랐다. 그는 틀림없이 살아남을 것이다.	Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
20	죄를 지은 사람 바로 그가 죽을 것이다. 아버지가 저지른 잘못의 짐을 아들이 짊어지지 않고, 아들이 저지른 잘못의 짐을 아버지가 짊어지지 않을 것이다. 의인의 공의는 자기 자신 위에 머물고, 악인의 악함도 자기 자신 위에 머물 것이다.	The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21	그러나 악인이 자신이 지은 모든 죄에서 돌아서서, 나의 모든 규정을 지킨다고 하자. 정의와 공의를 행동으로 옮긴다고 하자. 그러면 그가 틀림없이 살아남고 죽지 않을 것이다.	But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22	그가 저지른 범죄가 하나도 기억되지 않을 것이다. 그를 위한 것이다. 그가 행동으로 옮긴 공의 덕분에 그는 살아남을 것이다.	All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23	악인이 죽는 것을 내가 정말 좋아하겠느냐? ― 주 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그가 자기가 가던 길에서부터 돌아서서 살아남는 것을 내가 좋아하지 않겠느냐?	Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24	의인이 자기 공의에서부터 돌아서서 옳지 않은 일을 한다고 하자. 악인이 저지른 모든 역겨운 일을 따른다고 하자. 그러면 그가 살아남겠느냐? 그가 행동으로 옮긴 공의로운 일은 기억되지 않을 것이다. 자신이 신의를 저버린 것 때문에, 자신이 지은 죄 때문에, 그런 것 때문에 그는 죽을 것이다.	But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25	그런데 너희는 말한다, 주님의 길이 정당하지 못하다고. 들어라, 이스라엘 집안아! 나의 길이 정당하지 못하냐? 정당하지 못한 것은 너희의 길이 아니냐?	Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26	의인이 자신의 공의에서부터 돌아서서 옳지 않은 짓을 저지르면, 그는 그런 것들 때문에 죽을 것이다. 그가 저지른 옳지 않은 짓 때문에 죽을 것이다.	When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27	악인이 자신이 저지른 악에서부터 돌아서서 정의와 공의를 행동으로 옮긴다고 하자. 그러면 그는 자기 목숨을 살려 낼 것이다.	Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28	그가 돌아보고 자신이 저지른 모든 범죄에서 돌아서면, 그는 틀림없이 살아남고 죽지 않을 것이다.	Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29	그런데 이스라엘 집안의 사람들은 주님의 길이 정당하지 못하다고 말한다. 나의 길이 정당하지 못하냐, 이스라엘 집안의 사람들아? 정당하지 못한 것은 너희의 길이 아니냐?	Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30	이러므로 사람마다 걸어온 길에 걸맞게 내가 너희를 판가름할 것이다, 이스라엘 집안의 사람들아! ― 주 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 돌아서라! 돌아오너라, 너희 모든 범죄에서부터! 그리하여 너희가 걸려 넘어져서 잘못을 저지르는 일이 없도록 해라.	Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31	자신에게서부터 내던져 버려라, 너희가 저지른 모든 범죄를! 자신을 위해 새 마음을 품고 새 영을 받아라. 무슨 까닭으로 죽으려 하느냐, 이스라엘 집안의 사람들아?	Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32	나는 좋아하지 않는다, 죽을 사람이라도 죽는 것을! ― 주 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 돌아오너라. 그래서 살아남아라!”	For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
